    <디메칠호롬아마이드> 溶媒系에서 有機含할로겐化合物을 弗化加里와 反應시켜 본 結果 $CF_3COOH,\;C_3F_7COOH,\;C_2F_5COOH$와 같은 含弗素有機酸에서는 脫炭酸反應이 일어나며, 含鹽素有機酸, $CH_2ClCOOH,\; CH_3CHClCOOH,\;CHCl_2COOH $및 $o-Cl-C_6H_4COOH$은 一部 弗化反應이 일어나고 雙合(dimerization) 反應이 隨伴된다는 것을 究明하였다. 芳香族할라이드類에서는 反應度를 나타내지 않았으나 芳香環에 誘電子置換基가 두個있는 試藥에서는 主로 雙合反應을 일으켰다. 알콜 및 에스테르類는 通常的인 弗化反應을 잘 일으켰다. 같은 反應을 溶媒 使用치 않고 高溫에서 進行시켜 본 結果 雙合反應物의 收率을 增加시켰고 $o-ClC_6H_4COOH$에서는 環化物(fluorenone)을 少量生成하였다. 反應段階中의 各 試藥의 消耗및 生成에 對한 化學量的關系를 比較檢討한 結果 酸의 反應에서는 普通 脫炭酸反應보다 弗化反應이 優先 進行됨을 究明하였다. 弗化加里의 反應觸發作用및 反應機構에 關하여서는 論議하였다.

    The ${\alpha}-and\;{\beta}$-isomer of 4-nitroazoxybenzenes have been separated by liquid chromatography and their U.V. spectra were examined. The n${\to}{\pi}^{\ast}$ transition band of the compounds did not appear, likewise the cases of other compounds of the series. Transition band of the new isomer were as usual as those of other azoxy-compounds, whereas the ${\pi}{\to}{\pi}^{\ast}$ transition band of the other isomer which is reported in the literature shown peculier hypochromic shift and hypochromic effect. From the spectroscopic point of view it is very likely that the new isomer (m.p. $184-5^{\circ}C$) is ${\alpha}$-isomer and the other one (m.p. $152^{circ}C$) is ${\beta}$-isomer contrary to the literature.

    The eddy diffusion in the pulsed wetted wall column, where the spherical balls are consecutively arrayed along the axis of the column and turbulence is caused around the balls by pulsation, has been studied both theoretically and experimentally. A diffusion equation is solved for a longitudinal column where a concentration impulse is given at the top of the column, and the experimental results, which are the impulse response measurements at the half of the total height of the column, have shown a good agreement with the developed theory. A method of measuring the eddy diffusivity, which is based on the slope of concentration vs. time in the particular interval of concentration, is proposed and the measured diffusivity is used as a criterion of comparing the theory and the experiment. The eddy diffusion is remarkably increased as the amplitude and the frequency of the pulsation increase but the increasing rate is decreased as the pulsation increases.

    "Astragalus Membranaceus Bunge", which is a medical herb, grows wild in Manchuria and Korea, is cultivated today in Korea. Any literature about the organic components of "Astragalus Membranaceus Bunge" has been extracted with methanol referring to a literature of "Panax Ginseng C.A. Meyer" and two kinds of colorless crystals were obtained. After recrystallization in absolute alcohol, the melting point has been measured. The one kind was $181-182^{\circ}C$ and the others, $184-186{\circ}C$ respectively. It does not contain nitrogen, sulfur and halogen. By Liebermann's reaction, the one kind was not a carbohydrate but might be a Saponin. Through paper chromatography, taste, melting point, spectrophotometry, and elemental analysis, it was concluded that the other was Sucrose. It has been notified that the compound can be crystallized at the proper temperature, purity, and concentration of the solution and also solvent system.

    Inter-relationship between the Hammett equation and the linear enthalpy-entropy effect has been discussed by deriving a new set of equations; ${\Delta}{\Delata}H^{\neq}=a{\sigma}+b{\Delta}{\Delta}S^{\neq}$ and ${\Delta}{\Delta}F^{\neq}=a{sigma}+(b-T){\Delta}{\Delta}S^{\neq}$ where a = -1.36p. Theoretical analysis show that the Hammett, Leffler and Brown equations are special limited forms of these general equations. A necessary and sufficient test of substituent effect can thus be provided by the plot of $({\Delta}{\Delta}H^{\neq}-a{\sigma)$ versus ${\Delta}{\Delta}S^{\neq}$.

    有機含鹽素 에스테르, 알콜, 및 산과 金屬亞鉛 및 錫을 dimethyl formanmide 溶媒存在下에서 反應시킨 結果 有機金屬 콤프렉스를 좋은 收率로 生成하였다. 같은 反應을 混合紫外線照射下에서 進行시킨 結果 高溫 以外에서는 콤프렉스의 生成이 크지못하였다. D.M.F.에 依한 金屬 콤프렉스의 溶解效果는 토루엘이나 사이크로헥산보다 훨씬 컸었다. 鹽素를 含有한 酸에서는 酸의 金屬鹽의 金屬 콤프렉스가 生成됨을 觀察하였다. 카보닐 precursor와의 反應에 있어서는 少量의 雙合物과 함께 附加物을 生成하였으나 收率이 높지 못하였다(산 30∼40%, 에스테르 73%, 알콜 14.6%). 그러나 이 方法은 從來法에 比하여 簡便한 것임을 알았다. 硏究結果를 溶媒效果에 關聯시켜 論議하였으며 實驗方式을 報告하였다.
