This study mainly focused on the intergenerational exchange as a plan to revitalize the social participation of the elderly. The purpose of the study is to propose a plan for revitalizing future intergenerational exchange through the present condition analysis in the aspects of activity, space and consciousness for the elderly-centered intergenerational exchange. The study scope is the local welfare level, broad sense of exchange for the aged, children, youths and local residents, and the study objects are the personnel in charge of welfare policy and the staff in charge of operating general social welfare centers and the users of the facilities users. A survey questionnaire type research was sent through post mail to 278 social welfare centers, and 384 government offices within the jurisdictions. Among them, the responses were collected from 22 general social welfare centers and 26 offices within the jurisdictions. A proposal of a plan to revitalize intergenerational exchange that needs to be implemented in future based on the consideration of the present condition and characteristics of the intergenerational exchange of general social welfare center.

It was just before that early mosque architecture receives effect of conquest area or the surrounding country. Therefore, characteristic of mosque received much effect of Prophet Muhammad and qur'an. Do construction according to qur'an's notice based on Prophet's house's function to early mosque. qur'an is no direct delineation as form or architecture element. qur'an refers thing about spiritual aspect or function about special quality of mosque, role etc..

Recent days, transition to ecological thought is being accelerating by environmental impact with a sustainable development. This symptom is no exception in architecture area. So is vernacular design affecting on modern architecture in many ways in terms of economical aspect and eco-friendly environment as well. Natural energy like solar power, environment, and terrestrial heat that applied in vernacular architecture is also widely accepted in name of 'sustainable energy' of which a design applied with ventilation and airing of natural wind is very useful & pragmatic in terms of economical reason. Accordingly, this study examined a relation between vernacular architecture and natural wind and compared it with traditional type and its feature of ventilation & airing. Ventilation & airing applied in the past can be divided into three categories: methods by convection, natural element, and architectural type. All these methods gave some pleasant felling indoors when there were no artificial energies. Even in modern age, such a ventilation & airing is being used with traditional type in different variety of materials, and it will be developed with modern technology without any extra cost in terms of sustainable expansion, and opened for further researches.

Dutch artist, Theo van Doesburg had shown short but strong experimental aesthetics in his works through De Stijl movement. He played a leading role for editing De Stijl magazine and performed various formative works such as painting, sculpture, and architecture. In 1923 he opened the first De Stijl exhibition cooperated with Cornelis van Eesteren. In this architecture exhibition he showed rich formal spirits of counter-construction in his major design works, that is Maison Particuliere and Maison D'artiste among three houses projects. Formal characteristics of counter-construction can be summed up under two categories, time and space. Analytical results are as follows; First, the characteristics of counter-construction related to time category include two types of two mode. One is linear aspect of time based on the viewer's movement. The other aspect is simultaneity caused by synoptical effect. These could be proved by the analysis of arrangement of color planes. Secondly, the spatial aspects of counter-construction are produced through two different ways of formal strategies. Van Doesburg arranged cubes in very irregular pattern. This treatment induces ambiguous void and creates feeling of subject's space. And, through deleting, shifting, and extending he could make dynamic spatial effect by interpenetration between in and out. This fluid space thus introduces movements of one's gaze and circulation. He denied traditional classical values which had ruled the western aesthetical discipline for centuries and believed that mankind can reach the realm of universal equilibrium by contrast and tension created by counter-construction. In this vein Theo van Doesburg was an avant-garde artist of Hegelian thoughts who adopted the dialectical method without following the formal characteristics from ancestors.

Surface has been an important issue in contemporary architecture. That originates in structural freedom of surface since the end of modern architecture and the current stream of surface becoming an identity of building. Development of digital-media has brought a great change to our society in general. Digital-media is characterized by use of digital-information and interactive communication. Digital-media has been applied on surface in contemporary architecture lately. It is a purpose of the study to analyze the characteristics of digital-media application on surface based on the related characteristics of installation art. The categories and the contents for the frame of case analysis were arranged through document research. The foreign and domestic cases of digital-media application were analyzed based on the frame of analysis. Digital-media, which is installed on surface, is interacted with human and surroundings. It enhances emotional communication between human and architecture. Surface is not any more a simple fixture but an interactive creature. It makes surface more dynamically and fluidly that the course of light and human movement affect on digital-media. Surface itself is also turned into an object of art. It reflects the interweaving characteristics between contemporary architecture and installation art. It was analyzed through the study that emotional level of people is the important issue shared in digital-media application on surface and installation art. The complementary relationship between surface of contemporary architecture and installation art can be manipulated by the application of digital-media on surface.

The nature is the foundation of human life and arts, and human beings have found order and principle amid ceaseless change and harmonization of the nature and diversified patterns and directly or indirectly applied the nature to interior through discovered principles. Interior space to which the organic factors of the nature is an expression of the vitality of the nature and expresses live forms as seen in change, development and growth of living organisms in addition to human feelings. The study aims to recognize the necessity of studies on interior space to which organic expressive characteristics of the nature are applied in uniformed space, suggest expressive characteristics and propose needed basic data required at a time of designing interior space. In this regard, the study has examined works by five contemporary designers including Zaha Hadid, Karim Rashid, Fabio Novembre and Nox with an aim to analyze expressive characteristics of interior design and figure expressive characteristics of organic design found in interior space. According to analyses on preceding literary studies and case studies (14 places), it has been found that organic expressive characteristics in interior space include vision, tactile sensation and auditory sense in terms of sensitivity, immateriality in terms of a property of matter, metaphor and abstraction in terms of the form of natural objects and non-linear curves and free curves in organic design. Organic spaces were characterized by symbolism, directionality, continuity, pattern and superimposition. This conclusion is expected to be useful in subsequent studies on the application of organic expressive characteristic factors at a time of planning interior space in the future.

Currently, the nature and ecosystem's destruction by human beings and science is appearing as a serious problem. The possibility of ecological aesthetics is being sought as one of operations for new society in the contemporary society that the nature and ecosystem are getting attention, The present research aims to examine the characteristics and its expression method by setting the ecological aesthetics as an alternative of the future design. The history, meaning, mental image and image of Korean traditional Space forming the balance and harmony with the Nature, etc., which are important design concepts, were deduced as the beauty of emptiness, the beauty of a gap, the beauty of harmony and the beauty of changing and the beauty of simplicity as characteristics of experiencing space. If the deduced expression is examined through a case analysis of traditional housing, the characteristics trying to unite with the Nature while seeing ecology and aesthetics as one root, which the ecological aesthetics regarding as a root. The ecological arts based on the ecological aesthetics enters inside the universal life of human beings by examining the ecological and aesthetic characteristics appearing in Korean traditional Space, and the arts will move forward in a direction that its function and role link with maintenance of total ecosystem. The space application possibility and expression characteristics of ecological aesthetics should be continuously researched.

Recently the trend that human emotions become central is strongly on the rise beyond functions in the area of space. In the present situation, the current study is to examine the characteristics of experiential space of emotions through an approach to space appearing in kinetic art paying attention to the fact that the new spatial expressions and forms of Kineticism lie in introduction of 'movement' as a phenomenon that humans who are main agents of experiences can perceive. For research methods, spatial expressions were proposed according to each characteristic extracting characteristics to create space through 'movement' of Kineticism, and the features of experiential space of emotion were elicited by analyzing sensible elements and perceptual characteristics which stimulate human sensitivity through expressive aspects of 'movement' appearing in the case. As a result, it was found that characteristics appeared including immersion through non-daily stimulation, empathy through visual·perceptual stimulation, syn-aesthetic experiences through stimulation of thinking senses, and perceptual activation through physical movement etc. Namely, the present study has its meanings in seeking another directions and possibilities as emotional space to activate experiencers' diverse perceptions and senses by analyzing the characteristics of experiential emotional space through 'movement' of Kineticism which is one of modern plastic arts.

The Therme Vals is a hotel and spa which combines a complete sensory experience designed by Peter Zumthor. This study aims to find emotional design approaches of the Therme Vals through references, observation from site visit, interview and discussion related to this topic. This space was designed for visitors to luxuriate and rediscover the ancient benefits of bathing. The combinations of light and shade, open and enclosed spaces and linear elements make for a highly sensuous and restorative experience. The study observed the emotional design characteristics of the Therme Vals through space approach, aesthetic and experiential sides. For space approach side, emotional experience in gradual process to approach the space was mentioned, for aesthetic side, mystical combination of light, stone and water was observed, for experiential side, 5 senses experience and space programing for adjusting the density of the space were observed. This study found that the spa has the quality of spiritual, soul-touching delight like religious experience. The fascination for the mystic qualities of a world of stone within the mountain, for darkness and light, for light reflections on the water or in the steam saturated air, pleasure in the unique acoustics of the bubbling water in a world of stone, the ritual of bathing-all these notions were explained in Peter Zumthor's construction details. In the result of the interview and discussion, people love the space and praised it highly for the emotional design regardless of space experience, age, sex or ethnicity. Emotional design approaches based on human nature, materiality, and memory of the places is more powerful than other emotional design ideas with technical devices, special themes, digital effects, vivid colors and shapes.

Art-Wall is the term for a surface wall representing artistic expression by using different materials or images in interior spaces. Usually this is the focal point in an interior space and sometimes it called as an image wall. In the new millenium Art-walls began to use in living spaces. While in the early stages of the development, Art-Wall was limited in a living room, in contemporary it spread into overall living spaces using various patterns and materials. Therefore, the research on Art-Walls in contemporary living spaces is essential to understand this development. The purpose of this study is to find out characteristics of patterns on Art-Walls as an imagery element in contemporary interior spaces. To analyze the characteristic, the analysis table for Art-Walls are constructed based on classifications of wallpapers and textiles. Based on this analysis table, 89 examples of Art-Walls from four major periodicals from 2008 to 2009 were examined. As a result of the analysis, in contemporary interior spaces solid-texture pattern is most frequently appeared. Then natural motifs are the next most popular using oversized or irregular layouts. The result shows that naturalistic expression is significant in interior space in 2008 to 2009. Therefore, Art-Walls that adapted diverse patterns are an essential element in contemporary interiors to represent the major concept of the space.

As ongoing construction of a new municipal government building leads to the destruction of the interior of the Kyungsung Municipal Government Building(currentlySeoul Metropolitan City Hall) despite its enormous historic value, this study aims to identify the unique features of spatial composition and interior design of the Kyungsung Municipal Government Building, which is widely known as a typical example of public architecture of the 1920s. The primary goal is to perform a systemic arrangement of its interior data and define the modern historic implications of its interior design, thereby laying the foundation for a compilation of the history of modern interior design. From a historical perspective, the Kyungsung Municipal Government Building-an explicit symbol of Japanese colonial supremacy-has served as the administrative hub of a hugecity for 19 years during the Japanese colonial rule and for 64 years following Korea's independence from Japan. From the perspective of architectural history, it also represents modern transitional buildingsin their shift from historicism into modernism, as manifested by its reasonable placement of interior space matching well with topographical form, easy access by citizens, open office space, and, excluding decoration, a simple and non-authoritarian exterior. Its interior design style follows Western historicist architecture, whereasits simple interior decoration embodies expressive characteristics of pragmatic simplicity. Such elements are notably found in the Grand Central Hall, the Municipal Head's Reception Room, and the Grand Conference Room.

The Buddhist reliquaries of these 6 Reliquaries(松林寺, 感恩寺, 法門寺, 慶山寺, 唐招提寺, 法隆寺 玉蟲廚子), when compared with those of China, Japan and Korea in the same period, they worshiped the Buddhist reliquary as a Buddhist God itself and put them as a part of the architectural decoration, being installed in the construction forms. In the form and the composition of the architecture, we can see those having been designed with very detailed and brightly decorated form. The Buddhist reliquaries in the Song-Lim-Sa, Kam-Eun-Sa, Famensi, Qingshansi, Toshodaiji, and the Horyuji Tamamushi Zushi, the most important ones in this research, were in the precious tent and the inner and outer Coffins shapes having completely the altar part, interior space part, and the ceiling part, which inform us the whole structure of the architecture in details. After all these researches, we conclude that the Buddhist reliquaries in form of the Treasure-architecture represented the architectural style of the same period as a form of industrial arts and we can see that they tried to use all of their highly skilled and talented methods to describe the Buddhist Pure Land.

This study investigates the examples of artistic intervention especially on the surface of architecture as a meeting place of art and architecture. Artistic intervention demonstrates the possibilities for the meaningful integration of arts into architectural spaces. This study summarizes the characteristics of artistic intervention on the surfaces of architectures as follow; first, the artistic intervention is applied to the broad ranges of designs including public art, architectural design and sign design that establish identities and unique characters to the spaces. Second, the artistic intervention on the surfaces is conducted by the participation of the various fields of artists, i.e. painters, installation artists, graphic designers and landscape designers. The artistic intervention is also conducted by individual collaboration between artists and architects as well as by the forms of public art of art-in-architecture program. Third, the artistic intervention on the surfaces is expressed using the complex combination of images, colors, patterns, and texts. They are applied to enhance the aesthetic and symbolic characters of buildings in public arts, to improve the visual characters of architectural design with graphics, colors, and patterns, as well as to increase communication skills and cognitive effects of sign design with letters and colors on walls and floor surfaces. Fourth, the artistic intervention is also applied on the surfaces to encourage people to communicate historic and symbolic meanings related to the locations and functions. Thus, graphics on the architectural surfaces could provide a public space, with which people could share common feeling on public arts. As a conclusion, the study finds that artistic intervention either as artworks or as elements of architectural design can not only enhance the aesthetic quality of architectural space but also expand the techniques of design representation. In addition, the artistic intervention can contribute to create a new realm of design where artists and architects work together to enrich our surroundings.

In this paper, traditional residential architecture in South Korea appear to approach environmental regulation as part of ecological architecture of regional climate controlled environment, according to the characteristics and spatial arrangement, and material to the environment was described as a controlled manner. The scope of this study was not large scale housing construction from traditional chusagotaek, yunjeunggotaek, yangjindang, dokrakdang target was the case. Focusing on examples extracted from Korea first eco-friendly characteristics of traditional residential architecture is an extension of nature to explore space and yard space, and South Korea by way of environmental control that appears in traditional architecture, waterproof, moisture, solar radiation, sunlight, ventilation and air Attributes such as environmental regulation and environmental regulation of space, place and manner of materials were described. Korea's research through more traditional residential architecture of the environmental control and a wide range of environmentally friendly eco-construction was that appeared natural to use energy efficiently, it had been available. Since most domestic apartment, built in bearing wall system limiting variability of space, in spite of its good durability, cannot accept life style change and is being wasted, dumped scraps of which cause environmental pollution and waste of resources. As a response for this, researches on sustainable housing, that is, 'long-life housing' which has high durability, and variability responding life style change of the resident are in progress in and out of country. Therefore, this article aims, in suggesting the various status appearing on apartment and the interior plan responding the problem, to research on the house plan in the future which can be used continuously instead consuming type of apartment shortly used and discarded with understanding of long-life housing developed in foreign countries, and grasping the factors of application plan. Various reports from previous researches were comparatively analyzed and the studies on the characteristics, the real examples and the types of the surfaces were performed on the experimental model of long-life housing and similar residential surfaces to find the concept to be applied to Long-Life Housing and the introduction method of such concept. This article tries not only to prevent 'scarp and build', the serious cause of environmental pollution, but also to be basic materials for interior construction plan afterwards through 'long-life housing interior design plan' as the new conception which can accept life style and life cycle change.

The purpose of this study is to find out apartment residents' consciousness and needs of their community facility by age group as to provide basic data for future community facility planning. For this study, 12 national rental apartment complexes in the Seoul Metropolitan area were selected, and the residents of diverse age groups were surveyed including children, adolescents, adults, and elders regarding their attitude, satisfaction, and necessity of using the community space, and their requests for programs and locations of the community space. As for the analysis method, statistical software, SPSS for Windows 14.0, was used, and total of 891 questionnaires were analyzed for the survey. The findings of this study are as follows. 1) As to major activities in national rental apartment community facilities, older residents tended to show more interest in health, while younger residents tended to show more interest in leisure. 2) The residents' satisfaction about community facilities was the highest among children, and was the lowest among adults in general. Particularly, the facilities that were designed for specific age groups of users showed high satisfaction among users. Therefore, community facilities need to be planned in consideration of each age group of users. 3) Residents' requests for community facilities, in general, were found more among adults and elders than among children and adolescents. Elders made requests for the green environment, and adults made requests for facilities for family uses. 4) As to the results of surveying the requests about community facility programs, children, adolescents, and adults all made requests for programs regarding leisure activities. However, elders made requests for programs related to health or communication with neighbors. Therefore, the purposes and requests of using community facilities need to be identified precisely and then plan them accordingly and effectively.

Domestic distribution environment in Korea has rapidly and qualitatively been developed due to the open of distribution market. However, the function of commercial establishment goes beyond the place value that simple transaction of capacity takes place, and it is recognized as life groove space enhancing the satisfaction of costumers' purchasing pattern. For this reason, there has been the need to change the purchasing environment of commercial space. The change factors of commercial space contributed to the establishment of consumption identity formed by change of consumers' lifestyle and the purchasing pattern. It is necessary to see the change factors of the purchasing pattern as the conversion of distribution environment in terms of supplier and as the change of consumers' lifestyle in terms of consumers. In reality, however, the commercial facility ill-imitated the advanced model and qualitatively was developed. In this situation, the change of the purchasing pattern according to the conversion of facility is needed as an early stage. The purpose of this study is to analyze the overflow supply of commercial facility. Also It will discuss the plan characteristics of commercial space conversion of facility conforming to the change of the purchasing pattern that is predicted in the lifestyle on a conversion stage of facility.

In the field of architecture, the sustainable architectural concept, "green buildings," has been suggested as an alternative to solve the environmental problems; however, the concept has not yet been converted to awareness and development of related technology. The leading role of public sector has been socially and economically influential in the nation, hence green public buildings are significant to stimulate the spread of green buildings in the nation. This study is to draw an appropriate method of implementing the green building concept to the two main government office buildings of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province based on the plan to improve the work environment; it is also to provide long-term directions of implementing policies and reference for the public and private sector to utilize the green building concept. Its research methodology was the survey method. A total of 142 questionnaires were returned by government employees of the two buildings. It accounts for 20% of the total number of 711 workers of the buildings. According to the analysis of the returned questionnaire, the majority of the surveyed have a positive evaluurned toward the introduction of green buildings due to their expecturned for the possible i the buildingstheir work environment. In addition, they showed more interest in space planning with natural ventilation than automatic systems regarding applied methods for green buildings.

The Sydney Opera House is built on a peninsula of rock that juts out into Sydney Harbor. The site was once a landing place for ships. Utzon, Architect, designed the theatres for the Opera House to fit the shape. The two theatres were placed side by side so that they both had extensive harbor views. The Sydney Opera House is designed the foyers to take full advantage of these sights. Because the building would be seen from all sides, even from above, it was to be a piece of sculpture. The outside was as important as the inside. The audience enters from behind the stage and walks around to the foyers overlooking the harbour. The wing and backstage areas are small because of the way the foyers wrap around the theatre. The stage is made up of large platform lifts which provide the vertical movement for changing scenery. The sets come up from the workshops below stage. The flytower fits under the largest roof shell and doesn't break the skyline. The important elements are the podium, the shells and the reminders. The podium, the huge monolithic concrete structure, contains hundreds of rooms and nearly all the technical equipment. The podium is clad with pink granite slabs and seen from the water. This design eliminated a maze of fire escape stairs and, at the same time, gave people a wonderful view of the harbour. The egg shell is remarkably strong and express the form as the symbol of the site.

The purpose of this study was to examine the application tendency of the western classical style which appears in contemporary performing arts centers. The types of space in performing arts centers were investigated according to the times. There were somewhat fixed stage and auditorium types for each period ; the ancient times had the arena stage and round auditorium, the Renaissance the proscenium stage and the U-shaped auditorium, the Elizabethan period the thrust stage and polygonal auditorium, and the modern times the proscenium and apron stage, the horseshoe and fan type auditorium. Today since the purposes of performance are multiple, a variety of stage types are applied to each performing arts center. They use various spaces and performances of multiple purposes by moving and transforming the stage and auditorium according to the kinds of performance as a variation of the arena and proscenium stage. Recently there appear complex performing arts centers that can plan performing spaces of diverse sizes and forms to fit the functions of a performance in a large building. Since they put on performances in a large space according to the characteristics of the kind of performance, the intentions and goals of the performance are well delivered to the audience.

The museum architecture has been developed with new social and cultural movement because of the its representative role of cultural character. After emergence of the modern museum in Korea, the function and role of the museum has been changed and developed especially after increasing role by local government. The cultural desire by the new pace of consumerism has requested museums to undergo with some changes and advancements in their function and programs. This research aims to examine the progress of museum programs in Korea even though it has sort history. The scope of the analysis is discussed the extension of existing and new national museums which could be the measurement of the direction of the policy for museum. These changes have a tendency to correspond to social and cultural demands. Based on the existing program, new programs accommodate education and services which represent the characteristic of the museums. These changes caused the extension of the existing museums and the emergence of the small museums which has special program fields and even influences to expand existing museums for sub-characters. The study for chronological changes could be useful to establish the basic guidelines of the configuration for the museum program and space in the early stages for the new construction.

Human beings are having suffered from the unexpected climate changes which are caused by global warming leaded from air pollution. More than 3 billions of people will be forced to experience insufficient water in 2015. In Korea, over 70% of precipitation has been concentrating in Summer season. Furthermore, natural disasters has been occurred constantly all over the country. The unusual flood and drought have broken out not only victims but also, property damages. By the natural condition, the effective consuming and controlling system of water is going to be the core business field and constructing dams will be encouraged and promoted for the system. To convince the objectionable against the constructing dams, a dam exhibition center stands the very important position by being responsible for the presenting positive factors and highlighting the beneficial functions. The dam exhibition center is built as complex space combined by information center regarding water resources and visitor center for the community nearby the inundated area. Combined of the different purposes, the dam exhibition center can be confused to understand the concept and contents established in the space. To enhance the visitors' understanding contents of the dam exhibition center, the spatial composition and contents are being analyzed with existing centers and define the most effective exhibition methods between the spaces and visitors. This study will be the basic quantitative analysis data for the following design works those can get the better insight how to make visitors to get information and agreement of constructing dams effectively.

The importance of communication which is oriented to interaction, fusion and connection is more increased in the post-information society. The information environment is already realized as interface to reach immediately and freely to the databased information and knowledge. The contemporary libraries execute very important roles as an intellectual infra of modern times to deliver the great human achievement and create new culture. In the mean time, the rapid information-oriented society and the development of digital technology bring out big change in the traditional dispatch and receipt method of information. For this reason, libraries as the community space of visitors integrates physical space - electronic space and reconstructs new temporary culture and value to build the new interface that connects human to human, human to space and human to information. On the premise of these awareness, this study analysis the creative interface factor of Tama Art University New Libraries in Ito Toyo in order to research the function and the application method of modern libraries. And the results are follows. 1)We can make sure the significance of communication and the integration consciousness between digital technology and analogue sensitivity that is the characteristic of the post-information society. 2)We can classify for the creative interface factors by the character as space factor(Arcade, Gallery, Lounge, AV Booth, Cafe), facility/equipment factor(Laboratory, Media, Bar, Info Shelf, Media Seat) and furniture factor(Carrel, Desk, Mag Table, XI Shelf). 3)We can see that these interface factors change the stream of library users and that the library is constructed for library users to create and discovery something easily from books and modern technologies. And we can realize also that these factors are creative installation to lead out naturally the latent liberty sense of users.

Information & Communication Technology(ICT), called ubiquitous computing, changes our environment in many ways. It also acts on educational environment in concert with new pedagogy. Korean Government gives an efforts to set up the u-School as the educational environment supported by ICT. This study aims to find efficient uses of ICT to cope with the changing education environment and emerging needs of users. The survey research follows the pilot study on the model of future school. The students and teachers in six schools located in Busan answered the questionnaire and 752 individuals were analyzed by the statistical method including frequencies, crosstabs, ANOVA, and factor analysis. The conclusions are as follows: (1) Highly demanded were the u-School facilities to provide pleasant environment as the teachers and students have to spend most of time in classroom, or school premises. In addition, the infrastructures were so desperately required that students are able to control their textbooks and belongings, and efficiently utilize a variety of data. (2) The classroom volume should be planned a bit smaller than the current number of students so that teachers are relieved from the burden of too many student. The needs of students to interact with more students can be bolstered by utilization of ICT. (3) The respondents feel the high needs of computer for student, electronic blackboard, electronic lecture desk, microphone and computer for teacher as the teaching and learning facilities. This showed high needs for teaching and learning facilities enabling the active and individual learning through the use of ICT at education environment. In conclusion, the study proposes the fundamental data to combine u-School elements proper to the current learning and school environment, from the analysis on the use of school facilities, with the subjects, the users of education environment.

As urban function has become diversified and complicated, multifunctional complex facilities to satisfy new functional desires are necessary. Since local autonomy started, many facilities previously run and managed by central administrative agencies are now under management of localities, and functionally, the necessity for governments complexes town to satisfy diverse taste of populace such as creating local community becomes imminent. Analyzing characteristics by space composition factor of the public health center, newly built as part of such governments complexes town and understanding required area of each part, this project is to be used as basic material for construction plan of public health center that is equipped with local characters while devising construction of the public health center in the governments complexes town. Research method is to analyze four public health center facilities located in governments complexes town sites built after 2007, among twenty five public health centers in Seoul, by spatial functions. Also, based on statistical documents of usage of public health center facilities, research over spatial compositional factors and area composition has been conducted. As a result, connectivity between local government building located inside the governments complexes town and public health center and that of spatial composition factor by part, area ratio by part and floor type of public health center are comprehended. Connectivity type of public health centers are divided into horizontal and vertical connectivity and it is found that spatial composition of public health center is compartmentalized into low level, mid level and high level, to make access by users easier. Level type is decided as radial, rotational and combined by hallway connecting facilities.

Avoiding the unified productivity that was caused by the mechanical and technical development due to Industrial Revolution in the past, modern design is incessantly evolving in search of new motive, namely, diversity. Further, we live in the age when the propensity that serves public interest and purpose and sometimes shows quite individual character should be considered. As a result, the comprehensive and harmonious trend of emotional design is being highlighted more remarkably. Involving the social background that further respects human dignity, this is closely related to diverse issues such as human right which should be guaranteed and pursued for individual. While the tradition and innovation caused by the encounter of machine and art had confrontation and conflict in the past, the direction has changed to incessant evolution and interaction where paradigm of technical progress and development is newly composed and changed in modern times. The meaning of service in medical area is expanding and developing from the simple treatment to the more comprehensive healing. Medical space will evolve to the healing space that attaches importance to emotional aspect of human dimension which further understands and respects human being in the future.

Recently, the long-term care insurance for the elderly was carried out according to the elderly is increased rapidly and the formation of sympathy that a nation and society try commonly to share health and welfare promotion of the elderly. The purpose of this study is to analyze the present status of nursing home after that the long-term care insurance is enforced in chungcheongbuk-do and to utilize as basic data. The study limited its survey to those facilities that refer to the Ministry of Health and Welfare data, that had the capacity of more than 50 people. The result are as followings. Firstly, most of the nursing home were located on the outskirts of the city. But it must be constructed in the city center if the recent deinstitutionalization trend is reflected. Secondly, notwithstanding the provisions of the Elderly Welfare Law, if the Livability and amenity are considered, the plan of a single or a twin room is needed. The ondol(溫突) system bedroom for the safety of the elderly had to be planned and for the color planning of a bedroom, a heating, the furniture, the form of a door, corridors, etc. should be partly improved. The fastener in which it is appropriate for the main exit, a stair, an elevator, the lighting device, and etc. is needed and the installation of a wandering path for the dementia patient and etc. is required. Thirdly, most of the dining room arranged on the first floor but it is not nearly used and it used for employee or the other use. Therefore, we have to consider the system in which it can deliver the meal to a bedroom. If the smell of the elderly and etc. is considered, the sufficient height of the floor should be reflected for the ventilation equipment. Lastly, The improvement of the existing law are required.

The purpose of this study is to show the characteristics of integrated welfare center space by applying Context-Awareness technology in order to provide user-friendly services for efficient use of integrated welfare centers as more and more people are interested in using welfare integrated welfare centers which have increasingly been supplied. For this study, we propose the spaces which provide users of integrated welfare centers with proper services by applying Context-Awareness after reviewing the theory of Context-Awareness through literature study as well as case analysis and choosing the reasonable Context-Awareness technology for integrated welfare centers. As it is possible to efficiently provide users with safety service, information service and convenient service by the analysis of space, users' movement in lobby where Context-Awareness is applied and the lobbies of integrated welfare centers in Munsan area, Paju-si out of domestic cases about integrated welfare centers, the different type of spaces from the existing one is expected.

At a passenger terminal which is a core facility of a large-scale airport, users are not easy to recognize its space and to approach each facility by composition of large-scale space not recognized at a glance and arrangement of complicated functional space. Such a passenger terminal should be designed by putting a focus on functionality, safety and convenience since diverse passengers use it. At a passenger terminal, a lot of passengers' circulation followed by diverse purpose appear. Therefore, it needs a lot of functional space and space to satisfy passengers' demands. When circulation is planed, it should be designed by a systematic standard. The study was carried out on the basis of international airports, considering features and functions of airport circulation system. In kind of circulation in passenger terminal of an airport, there are user's circulation (passenger's circulation, employee's circulation and service circulation) and baggage circulation. The study examined passenger's circulation which was a major circulation of passenger terminal out of user's circulation. The study examined elements which had an effect on circulation system at a large-scale airport passenger terminal and basic data for an efficient circulation system standard of passenger terminal through case analysis of passenger terminal circulation systems at international airports.
