Today the social concern about Interior Design gradually requires wide comprehension. Also according to demanders' requirement. Colleges cope with speed. Interior Design made by experts for the function and purpose in the conception of decoration. Therefore, Colleges are responsible to educate for more capable professional designers. But management is the first concern for Interior Design Company students are going to work at. Interior Design has not the important state yet in Korea, it is hard to manage the company with only design works on the table. As architectural design side must get some admission, design is apart from construction. but they are worked together in Interior Design. Also, as the architectural design with process detail drawings, interior design is required the detail design for construction. But it is the facts that the college is interested in and concentrated on rather education for design and space plan than intensive education for construction because of the restricted environment of practice room. I propose component and practical use of nude construction department to understand detailed design.

Contemporary architecture has two different movements that one is the utilization of digital technology and the other is the inclination to nature. After deconstructivism in architecture, the tendency of design shows the fusion between digitalism and organicism and as a consequence the phenomena of 'skin expression' has emerged which can be thought as 'organic digitalism' or 'digital organicism'. The definition of skin tendency in environmental design is the design of nature based on the technology. As a result, the surface becomes the design issue compared to structure and the momentum for new aesthetic value. There are post-structuralism, complex system theory and the organic architecture as theoretical background for the tendency of skin expression. Specially the ideas of post-structural philosophy has effected deeply to the formation of its movement and also offered the theoretical nutrition for digital architecture. The characteristics of the skin tendency can be analyzed as topological transformation, smooth continuum, deterritorialization, ecological response system, and tactility. These design characteristics has combined with conventional material and design vocabulary to transform and develope new spatial conception.
A purpose of this study is to comprehend a concept of 'Open Space', realization of a deconstruction, presented in his works, based on a deconstruction and surrealism Coop Himmelblau's philosophical contemplation and to look into how this concept is interpreted in spaces. This study aimed at understanding the spatial characteristics in the Tugendhat house. For this study, it is need to analyze the early plans of the Tugendhat house design process. To analyze this, the study leads to how to effect on the real practice with the process. Therefore, this research investigates the conceptional design process of the house. There are 2 main characteristics of the interior space alternation. One is the closed spatial character on the 2nd floor, the other is the open spatial character on the 1st floor. It clearly shows the severance between interior and exterior on the 2nd floor. Each 2nd floor's space volume uses different materials so that each the space can show the individuality. On the 1st floor, however, it seems the interior is not as much open to the exterior, because the materiality and reflection of the glass, the objet of furniture and wall. In case of 1st floor, it has a complex concept as open and close character, because it is using the proper gardening elements and the relationship between the house and site. The exterior characteristic is separated the house from the ground with the podium and the slope, and this leads to have the discontinuity. The house clearly shows the spatial characteristics of the continuity and discontinuity, it proves that Mies tried to move onto modem architecture as a turning point.
Complex-cultural facilities in the contemporary era are significantly influenced by the anti-modernism and space relativism movement of the 20th century. Complex-cultural facilities have the complex-layered space. In many contemporary buildings, this complex-layered space has void center space within it which primarily functions as indoor plaza. This study pays attention to the fact that the design of indoor plaza has developed differently in Europe and the US, which vividly demonstrates spatial relativism in contemporary buildings. With this backdrop, I analyze the architectural and cultural backgrounds of indoor plaza in Europe and the US. In addition, I examine the cultural functions and visual interpretation of indoor plaza in the regions to compare the design features and functionality.

The purpose of this study is to find out the expression style of space in Rietveld's early works in comparison with Mondrian's paintings. Through investigating the development of their works and analyzing the composition and disposition type of elements such as point, line, plane, color in the selected works, we can draw the following conclusions. .First, Rietveld pursues the dissolution of traditional volume and the de-composition of elements as Mondrian does. Second, the painterly property of plane is emphasized by the projection of separately floating elements on the picture plane. Third, the separating the layer of lines from the layer of planes and the re-combination of these two layers present the superimpositional image of three-dimensional objects. This leads into new conception of architectural space and develops the transparency and the extension of plan in modem architecture.
This study was intended to suggest the design alternatives of housing units which were developed on the basis of POE. The POE of the New Apartment Complex in Gimhae was carried out and on the basis of the results of this POE, the design alternatives of housing units were developed. The subjects were 372 housewives who live in the apartment houses sized 60m2 to 85m2 in Gimhae. They answered about the living characteristics related to house, the degree of saisfaction with their housing unit plans, and the needs for housing unit plan. The major problems in current housing unit were the lack of storage space and the small size of living room and children's bedrooms. Many residents wanted to live in the housing unit which have three bedrooms and some of them wanted two bedrooms. Also, they wanted to enlarge living room and instead of that, to reduce master bedroom. In addition to these, the residents had diverse housing needs. On the basis of these results, housing alternatives which are flexible and optionable were suggested.
Korean traditionally prefer a house with a southern exposure to other styles. Moreover, pretty part of dwelling style in Korea is apartment building. But generally, there are much more north oriented rooms than opposite one in apartment. Generally, most Korean tends to consider the direction of the room as an important factor to decide the arrangement of their furniture. Also, the location of window, door, bed, and closet can affect on the decision-making process of furniture layout. So, the closet position should be determined by not only window direction and door position, but also the furniture arrangement preference of residents. After considering the window and door position, there are 16 alternatives in a room. (Multiplied 4 window directions by 4 door positions under the assumption that the window and the door cannot be on the same side of the wall.) Also, this study analyzed each room style ratio considering the symmetry of each plan by comparing the apartment building plan. This paper studied the bedroom style by analyzing the 180 apartment building plans and survey of furniture layout; the furniture in this study represents bed and desk those are mainly laid in Korean bedroom. Finally, this paper suggested the methodology to find optimal alternatives of furniture and closet layout for high-rise apartment residents, based on the door and window position, and the furniture layout preference of residents.
This study is mentioning about basic information and guide related block types, through a comparison and an analysis of floor types which is shown as function in block types and public interior spaces. For the range of this survey, it is defind in the beginning of 1970' s to the end of 1990' s which was rapidly developed in hotel industry and also is chosen by 12 places in the first class hotels. On the purpose of this study is written by designing the basic information of architectures, new hotels which are built and managed in urban, refer to the survey and analysis of the characteristic in hotel. The following is conclusion by based on pre-survey of the analysis of a plan and a site in these hotels. First, as a result of analysis in block type, there are equally distributed in three types (in-type, combination type, close-type), except a atrium type exception, in 12 hotels(100%). Second, as a result of analysis of function type in public interior space, Con-course type is consist of 7(58%), Hall type is 5(42%) in the type of room in public interior space, in 12 hotels(100%). Third, the type in lobby on space plan are equally shown by the type of lobby in center(4PL.), of lounge in center(4PL.), and a compromising type(4PL.).
Currently, there is no facility standard for a city public health center. The facility standard of rural public health center is referred to architectural plan of city public health center. This study is about architectural plan of the city public health center and have been in 7 public health centers in Daegu investigated. Conclusions can be summarized as follows: 1) The Mother and child hygienic section, area ratio which is presented by the facility standard of rural public health center must be increased in case of city public health center since function-reinforcement of the mother and child hygienic section is required. 2) Business section, the area ratio which is presented by the facility standard of rural public health center must be diminished for city public health center because it has been excessively allocated.
The space planning and interior layout of recovery unit should be determined carefully for patient's nursing and observation which is considered to prevent infection and to cope quickly with emergency situation after surgical operation. Recently, the recovery unit in medical facilities is planned and managed without consideration of operating system, sanitary facilities and prior condition of space. Therefore, there is required to the logical criterion of architectural planning for patient's recovery unit which is concerned about opinion of medical team, anesthetist, sanitarian, architect and patient as a user. As the result, this study would apply to design guideline for the architectural planning of patient's recovery unit.
If the collection of exhibit objects as well as exhibit planning are not in accord with the overall purpose of the exhibit, it will be difficult to attain satisfactory results. The present study focuses on the exhibit evaluation. The exhibit evaluation is very important because it allows the whole process of exhibit development to be reviewed, and it can point a way towards improving the exhibit. Research was conducted by literature review for the museum evaluation methods and by survey for the status of Korean exhibit evaluation. Several Korean History Museum Exhibitions were targeted as cases for this study. Structured and open-ended interviews with 70 museum specialists including curators and exhibit designers were conducted. In conclusion, museum evaluation methods were timely arranged first; front end analysis, second; formative evaluation, third; summative evaluation. Through the survey, one forth of museum specialist didn't have the concept of the exhibit evaluation. However they felt the importance of it.
Since the 20th century, it has been the most important agenda that issued the environment of earth. And it has been enormous endeavors for providing the environmental-friendly. It has now outcome as a policy of estimate and acknowledgement for providing the environmental-friendly. Regarding that is the most efficient method in a practical sense, the policy has rapidly been developed. This study is an attempt to categorize interior design of the policy. Thus main-body of this study shall be clarified the definition of the notion of the environmental-friendly design and investigated the element of harm against the environmental-friendly as well. Eventually the conclusion is to provide a guideline for the environmental-friendly especially for the field of interior design materials, by the investigation of the exiting policy for the environmental-friendly design.
For lighting design in such diverse structures, we need lots of considerations, such as use and characteristics of the structure, harmony with its surroundings, and the function and type of lighting to be installed. The structural characteristics is determined by its shape and several vertical and horizontal factors based on the shape, which can be focused on at day time by shading, the surface structure, the quality of the surface and the color. On the other hand, they can be at night hidden in the darkness or enforced strongly by the effect of the lighting. In this paper, correlation between the ways of lighting and building facade types according to vocabularies for sensitivity is explored based upon an analysis of building facades for small-scale commerce which plays an important role in cityscape lighting design. It is considered that categorization of types of building facades, presented in this article, and the classification system of exterior lighting methods can be useful in planning lighting. And the process of the study is thought to be able to present a method about the exterior lighting planning. Furthermore, computer simulation on the bases of the correlation model of the lighting methods related to vocabularies for sensitivity about the building facade types is expected to be data and means which can be a great help for designers to predict various results quickly.

The purpose of this study is to grasp a trend in the expression of placeness, being appeared in digital space design process through case analysis. As the result of this study, the placeness in digital design process expressed by parametric elements had each effective internal algorithms. Especially, space design using digital process were expressed placeness by physical context such as topography, conditions of location, landscape, axis of road, traffic elements and climate. And social context were expressed by user experience through his cognition.
The rapid development of information technology has much influence on architectural design. Collaboration beyond time and space has been possible by networking the work environment and digital products. Thus, the virtual design studio on architectural design is getting more important than ever before. This research investigates a virtual design studio methodology for effective collaboration. The building design process and the communication model are studied and possible modes of design collaboration are defined. This paper proposes an internet-based Virtual Reality(VR) communication tool as well as new design methodology that we call the 'Hybrid Design Methodology'. We expect that this design methodology will dramatically increase design feedbacks, and thus results in better design alternatives. There are two issues involved in developing the collaborative virtual design studio: 1) an intuitive interface that presents collaborative relations, and 2) three-dimensional computer-mediated communication tool using sketch as a modeling method. Further research issues identified at the end of the research include developing algorithms that translate mapping images to polygons for the drafting phase in the design process.
The findings of this study indicate that intangible cultural properties are worth preservation and transmission and should be considered as very important as tangible cultural properties. If the studies of intangible cultural properties are continued focusing on their characteristics and formational system, they can be expressed more properly by adding new interactive elements to database and expressive requisites. New techniques introduced in this study are believed to provide people with most reasonable and developmental motives for expression of the existing intangible cultural properties. Concerning Korea's cultural properties centered on intangible cultural properties, information construction should be made with a new idea of information based on database from the previous studies. The result will be able to set an important factor to give wide publicity to our cultural identity, which is currently shown in the process of background communication, and serve as a foothold to deliver exact information to our descendants. The intangible cultural properties are our people's mental cultural heritage resources. If museums or initiator groups, which are organized to spread cultural heritages, can use them as the subjects of exhibition through information construction and visualization, it will function to maximize the educational effect of transmitting our national mental world. The development of digital environment will provide the optimum conditions and tools making it possible to visualize intangible forms and ideas in a virtual cyber space. Given these viewpoints, steady studies and efforts for the improvement of Korea's cultural image should be made in the way of intangible cultural properties as well as tangible ones. They start from the country's accurate appreciation of cultural properties and are embodied in systematic adjustment and relationship between interdependent elements.
