While we go through a rapid change in society, family types composing social relationship underwent lots of changes. Recently the range of family is included not only families on the basis of blood relationship but also single family, a one-parent family and non-blood relationship family. Now we need not unified types of housing but social integrated housing models responding to family diversity. The purpose of this study is that examine family diversity through social statistics and demography and grasp the current housing types responding to family diversity. The features of family diversity are reducing the number of family member and turning up a unformal family type. At the social statistics and demography in 2005, the number of family member is only 2.9 people per family. Due to decline of birth rate and change of marriage consciousness, various family types appear and increase such as single family, a one-parent family and non-blood relationship family. But there is lack of housing types responding to such family diversity. This study will be a basic research to develop social integrated housing models responding to family diversity. Housing must be sensitive to change of family type, so it responds our needs based on thorough understanding on various housing life.

High-rise and high-density apartment complexes has been built and supplied on a large scale in the metropolis and metropolitan areas since 1980s in order to solve housing shortage in cities. Recently they are raising deterioration problems for aging more than 20 years. moreover, those problems show very special characters such as simultaneity and a large scale. The purpose of this study is to propose a direction for the development of the evaluating indicators to measure the level of deterioration of apartments. The level of deterioration of apartments can be evaluated by housing performance. In order to evaluate the deterioration comprehensively, the housing performance indicators should be developed on the social, economical, and physical dimension. This study analyzed the concept of the apartment deterioration and compared housing performance indicators through literature review. First of all, when considering various factors in the evaluation of the deteriorated apartments, such as evaluating ranges, attributes and dimensions, housing performance indicators should be structured with the hierarchical framework. Second, housing performance indicators evaluating the level of deterioration of apartments should include social, psychological, and cultural aspects of home environments in order to understand adequately the attitude of the middle class toward services that apartments provide. Third, in previous researches, most criteria have been developed and weighted based on only expert opinions regarding performance indicators. So, It is necessary to include residents' opinions in developing performance indicators since they can provide more practical and feasible aspects the experts could not experience or understand.

Among various service characteristics, the physical environment is one of important contributors to service quality. In public service buildings, public community facilities serve as arena for education, social interaction, leisure, health activities for community districts. The purpose of this study is to investigate the physical state of public community facilities and expectations of users toward physical environment and service aspects. Site visits to four public community facilities and survey method were conducted for this study. One hundred ninety two questionnaires were analyzed. It is found that the majority of users are housewives and live near the community facilities. In order to provide more equal benefits and service to the public, it is suggested that smaller facilities should be provided in several sites instead of providing a large complex community facility to one area. Facility users indicated larger gaps between expectation and current state of the facilities regarding lack of storage, noise and ease to use. In general, physical characteristics should be more improved than employee's attitude and service behavior, which result in service quality.

The environment is the important resource to use as well as to conserve for the development. Since 1990s, it has accentuated the importance of the environment and tried to conserve the environment in many areas. Among many area, the building industry has played a role to destruct the environment for providing the living decent space and brought the environmental affect. Therefore, the building industry should endeavor to mitigate the environmental affect. In building life cycle, it consumes the energy and natural resources. But it is difficult to evaluate the environmental affect during the whole building life. It is impossible to calculate the environmental affect without the much time and effort. Therefore. it requires the easy and handing program to calculate the affect to environment in each building life cycle. Until now, many program for assessing the affect to the environment have been developed and limitedly used because of the assessment scope and contents. In this paper, it aimed at developing the assessment program of LCA, focused on the energy consumption and carbon-dioxide emission compared with the domestic and foreign concerned programs. The developed program is divided into 3 areas; construction, maintenance, demolition.

The progress of industrialization in Korea has led to increase social participation by females and also a transition toward a nuclear family based system. As a result of it, Korea is nowadays confronted with the issue of childcare, which is emerging as a social problem. In Japan, both combined nurturing facilities and the exclusively dedicated facilities for disabled children are institutionally maintained on a consistent basis. In addition, the enactment of the Children Welfare Act has subsequently given birth to the establishment of the 'Minimum Standard Requirements for Children's Welfare Facilities'. With such act and standards in place, much attention is now paid to a physical improvement of disabled children nurturing facilities, too. In order to make the requirements for such facilities more complete and substantial, local governments have enacted their own ordinances on the basis of the major policies regarding the universal designs for the disabled, such as the Heart Building Act. As Japan has a cultural background similar to that of Korea and is equipped with the nurturing facilities systemized in accordance with the symptom and degree of disabilities, it is believed that a study on the current standards for disabled children in Japan will help to provide our domestic standards applicable to such facilities.

In case of the large-scaled indoor gymnasium that has been constructed in the local area, there are many instances for the use as multipurpose space where the public performances are possible such as leisure activity, lecture, assembling activity, drama, concert and so on for the resident together with the purpose of sporting facility. In order for utilization to the maximum of the function of such indoor gymnasium, the acoustic capabilities concerned with Definition of both Voice and Music are simultaneously required. However, in case of the large-scaled athletic facility, since it was designed with high ceiling-height in view of its characteristics, it forms a Sound Focus and then the sound is concentrating to the specific part, and because the vibration of sound is too loud due to its broad volume, the acoustic defects such as many Echoes are arising. On such viewpoint, based on the drawing of the indoor gymnasium that is scheduled to be built at B County, Chonbuk Province, this Study has proposed such indoor gymnasium equipped with the optimized acoustic condition passing through Acoustic Simulation Phase. As the result of Acoustic Simulation, we could design the indoor gymnasium that equipped with really satisfying acoustic performance 'after' reformation compared with 'before' reformation, and it is considering that such material could be utilized as the fundamental material that brings a curtailment effect of the construction cost and also enables us to improve the acoustic performance, at the stage of planning and designing for the similar sporting facility in the future.

Among those various facilities attached to the school building, the Auditorium is being utilized for not only the Exercise Activity but also for many purposes such as Culture, Public Performance, Education, Assembly and so on. In order to utilize in maximum such function of the multipurpose auditorium, an adequate acoustic design with regard to the Clarity of Voice and Music in accordance with its use-purpose should be accompanied. However, as the most part of multipurpose auditoriums is designed with high ceiling-height by its peculiar character, and due to use of the material of strong reflexibility, it is appearing the defect that excessively exposes the reverberation of sound. In order to make out an optimal acoustic condition within the broad space such as an auditorium, the acoustic characteristics must be considered from the planning stage, however in the most case, those acoustic problems are being settled through the repair works after construction. On such viewpoint, this Study intends to analyze the room acoustic characteristics from the planning stage using a computer simulation based on the blueprint of multipurpose auditorium in S High School located in Gwangju. It is considered that the material analyzed in such way could be practically applied as a fundamental material enables to improve the acoustic capability when a similar broad space is planned hereafter.
