Public rental apartment has suffered social exclusion problem, stemmed from its closed planing for a very specific range of the disadvantaged population. Thereby, it has been recognized as a disliked residential facility. To alleviate this problem, various approaches have been tried such as ownership-tenant mixture, and different unit size mixture. The purpose of this study is to grasp the expected social relation among neighboring residents according to socially integrative planing elements such as ownership, unit size and family life cycle match. Thirty eight graduate students in architecture and housing field responded to the questionnaire which was specifically made to identify relations of 28 neighboring situations based on
$2{\times}2{\times}2$ variable composition. Frequency, percentage and MDS(multidimensional scaling) were used to analyze data. As a result, the order of preferred matchy were identified. The match between rental/small/children group and ownership/middle/children group was turned out to be the most desirable while the match between rental/small/children family group and rental/small/elderly group was found the least desirable. Spatial representations of the relationships among 8 household types were delineated. In conclusion, the definite patterns of the favorable and unfavorable match were found. This result is expected to be used as a reference in developing a strategic match to promote the rental apartments social integration in Korea. -
This research was conducted to investigate methods to strengthen the apartment community from the territoriality point of view. In order to achieve this goal, first of all the concept and the structure of territoriality are studied through articles and literature reviews to ensure a full understanding of the community strengthening-related plan elements suggested in the previous research. The study is then divided into the categories of semi-private territory and semi-public territory to pursue analysis based on the issues related to strengthening community such as possession, proximity, defense, boundary-regulation, and personalization in case by case studies. The results of case studies are as follows: in the case of possession with psychological concept of possession, the extension of private space and exclusive space are suggested. And for the concept of proximity, that is, the physical and psychological distance for sense of the same nature, increased opportunity of meeting the residents in the same building or same area are suggested And for the psychological proximity, familiar design and facilities for meeting and exchange-related methods are shown. For the case of indirect defense in defense concept, the methods related to monitoring and supervising facilities for protection are found. For the boundary-regulations, it is based on the concepts of physical and psychological borderlines; walls either vertical or horizontal, or such obstacle-related methods are suggested for the physical borderline, and space structure and symbols-related methods are found for psychological borderline. Finally, for the case of personalization which is related to the expression of identity, design-related methods are suggested.

The trend that an apartment is regarded as not only a substantial property called 'residence' but also 'means of self-expression' to consumers is increasing in the present housing marketing, and thus, the apartment brand image is settling down as an important field of marketing management. Therefore, the present study aimed to verify difference of brand attitude according to consentaneity between an image of a housing brand and self-image of consumers to propose one kind of direction of strategies for formation of a differentiated brand image. As a result of a research, the trend that consumers show more positive attitude on a brand apartment having a brand image closer to an ideal self-image was analyzed to exist even if it is weak, so it was confirmed that the consentaneity between a brand image and a self-image of housing products can become a variable having some influence on brand attitude. The survey method understood a brand image, a self-image and brand attitude by using a Likert's 5-point scale on apartment brands of upper three companies according to a study result of a national brand competitiveness index(NBCI) and understood self-consentaneity by using a distance measurement model of self-consentaneity of Sirgy(1982). The questionnaire for the present research was carried out by surveying students of D university and the PASW program was used for statistical data analysis.

Since the cohousing idea, originated in Northern Europe, was introduced in the U.S. by architects Kathryn McCamant and Charles Durrett in the early 1980s, there are recently the largest number of cohousing communities and rapidly expanded in the U.S. So, it is necessary to appreciate the cohousing communities developed in U.S. In this study, we investigated the physical characteristics of cohousing and the methods of its residents' participation by means of a case study on cohousing communities in U.S. and suggested the future direction of the cohousing community. Also, this work could be exploited when the cohousing is introduced to Korea. At first, the general status and characteristics of U.S cohousing was explored using diverse sources such as literature, paper and Web site. And then, the direct visit survey was used to obtain the more exact and specific data about physical aspects and residents' participation in each community. We found that cohousing communities were mostly located in the urban and Rural area, which was founded in the 1990s, and new communities continue to be created in the U.S. Typically, the number of households is from 20 to 30 in one community. The land is generally owned by the community itself and its size is within 10 acres. Communities usually serve optional group meals in the common house at least two or five times a week. Each member's income is separated and the community members should take care of their common properties. The leader of community does not exist and most communities don't have the organization of community members. All cohousing communities use consensus as the basis for group decision-making.

Korea is the 3rd highest country in population density of the world,furthermore, 1/5 of Korean lives in Seoul with only 0.0% tiny area size. It explains the high-rise apartment has diffused so fast. Regardless of its height, almost all apartments have been planned in a very uniform way, ignoring the possibilities of vertical community and commercial culture. Since considerable number of residents have within building, ways to improve the community and commercial culture need to be explored. One major way to do is providing community space where residents are expected to use in a natural way. The purpose of this research is to identify preferred location of community space in each apartment building. Web guesting survey was used as main methodology. 83 data were collected during mid October, 2009. As results, lobby at the first floor was most favorably selected by super high-rise apartment residents due to convenience, accessibility.

The Hill housing in korea usually have a low-rise clustered housing style, and they were mostly built during the 1980s. Low-rise terraced houses that can be found in Europe, American or japan cannot be found in Korea due to spatial limitations, so semi-detached houses or duplexes with low-story unit plan have been built in Korea. In this study, the developments will be analyzed, and domestic and foreign cases will be compared. Based on the results of analyses and comparisons, new unit plans and section types applicable to Korea will be suggested.

Traditional villages formed their own indigenous residential cultures which were influenced by the nature and the socio-cultural environment. Since the influential factors have changed in modern period, the forms of housing have gradually changed and were also replaced by new types. This study aims to view the changes of the traditional housing in modern period through case studying the traditional village. The result can be used as a preliminary data for another research. The object of this research is Do-Jin village, Buckhoo-myun, in An-Dong which has a regional particularity and diversity of housing forms.

Despite the steady effort of kitchen furniture industry, consumers' complains never seem to decrease. The common storage problem of the houses of different sizes(20 pyeong, 30 pyeong, and 40 pyeong) was the dificiency of storage area and inadequate shelf division. It implies that such dificiency in kitchens is not because of the size of storage area, but because of such a great diversity of kitchenware and lack of studies on these items. The purpose of this research is to provide the checklist of the variety and quantity of stored kitchenware in researched area and easily adopt it to the kitchen furniture design. Studied household in average hold 239 types and about 890 items. The size of residence did not effect the number much. The first step of making the checklist is to categorize items into 9 biggest categories considering the usage of items and in which step of the preparing food the item was used. Second step is to categorize the items into 31 smaller categories reflecting the shape of items, the storage style and the place of storage. Third step is to sort the items into smallest categories by the frequency of use, storage type, and additional capacity of an item. Even when items are sorted into the same higher level of categories, the frequency of use caused storage area to differ. Also, storage style of an item differed according to the storage area. Based on these factors, we listed items in detail and made the checklist.

Traditional pile-buildings in Southeast Asia has high utility. Their floors are lifted above the ground to stave off humidity in the house, increase the amenity and hygienic condition, fend off fierce animals or harmful animals like rat, and protect the house from being submerged in flood waters. Such traditional pile-buildings have Austronesian saddle-backed roof commonly, and are built through various techniques such as joining and mortising, without use of nails. The roof has a considerably large proportional appearance, and for this formal characteristics, the roof is symbolized as boat on occasions. The roof has dual structures or is lifted in some cases to facilitate the ventilation, and the wall is formed to maximize the ventilation. This housing types the hierarchy of foundation, housing space, and roof, which implies religious symbolism that human is above animal and God is above human. However, housing types in Southeast Asia have very different detailed form and culture, depending on the ethnic and religious characteristics. As explained above, this study examines the common aspects and diversity based on the form and culture of traditional housing of Southeast Asia and provides useful basic academic data.

This study aims to propose alternatives to improve the residential environmental of National Rental Housing for Elderly. To proceed the study, we draw elements of plan for apartment housing for Elderly through literature review, explore actual conditions of residential environment on National Rental Housing for Elderly in Ha-dong, Kim-Jae, do IPA analysis using survey data, and finally, propose prior alternatives for the improvement of National Rental Housing for Elderly based on IPA analysis results. In the results, a lot of the planning elements of apartment housing for Elderly was applied for this site. But living conditions of residents need to be improved based on the result that importance (3.55) is higher than performance (3.18). this study is critical in drawing the direction of plan and improvement alternative by surveying actual residents, and will be used as the source for the National Rental Housing for Elderly project.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the way of housing DB construction about the elderly people. Documentary research and content analysis methods were used in this study. The major results of this study are as follows. The number of elderly household is increasing very rapidly. Especially they consist of single or coupled family. They want to live in detached house and aging in place. But social welfare system is not enough to satisfy their needs. So, it is need that systematic social support or welfare system to reflect their needs. For example, related works of housing welfare for them are prepared that their data base system as socio-demographic characteristics and living conditions.

Along with the heightening development of modern medical technology in the world, the economy and quality of lifestyle has contributed to the increase in the average lifespan. Therefore the issue to deal with the aging population is becoming an important social issue. As aging population becomes a serious social problem, the issue of supporting the senior citizens is confronted with a more difficult situation. From the perspective of senior citizen's physical and social and economic situations, there are great difficulties to deal with, like lowered physical ability compared to the rest of population. Therefore the supply of senior welfare facility that is based on senior citizen's physical characteristics yet provides the opportunity to be independent needs to provided rather than just planning a simple facility that provides living accommodations. This research examines thereinto welfare center's usage of residential circulation system from the senior welfare facilities' type classification to understand the actual usage problem and presents a circulation plan that will resolve the problem.

The elderly population ratio of domestic is the actual condition where the countermeasure which is various for there is a possibility of saying that is already experiencing the aging society, is considered. The expansion of the elderly welfare facility of the area where is located among the rest in the situation as a matter of metropolitan area of domestic ephemerality and the price of land which the earth has, duplication operation etc. is having a problem point and the ephemerality which are various. About of composition different facility and leads with alternative and expansion and function of function and facility leads and the synergy effect which is various shows. So this study is consequently does the school facility which is located in life circle of the city center in middle of composition of the elderly welfare facility and other facility and in the object and under proposing boil the complex at the time of spatial composition blueprint with the elderly welfare facility and the school.

Amongst society's transitional presuppositions towards the future, an aging population is the most significant matter. Korea has entered the aging society in 2000 and will face the aged society by 2018, which is the fastest time that takes from the aging society to the aged society in the world. Korea requires immediate attention to devise a countermove. U.S entered aging society in 1942 since then have developed various types of elderly housing. Recently, university-affiliated CCRC became an attractive alternative. Therefore, it is necessary to study a successful case of elderly housing. This study aims to explore the key features of a university-affiliated CCRC as an alternative socially integrated aging friendly community. Oak Hammock at the University of Florida was selected for this research as a successful case. The method of this is field visit case study. The study finds that University-affiliated CCRC has a lot of benefits for both university and CCRC. Oak Hammock members can access university's facilities and university provides a life-long learning experience and other programs. Oak Hammock provides internship, volunteer and parttime job opportunities and offer advice to students as a mentor. This study is expected to provide a implication in developing elderly housing of Korea.

The purpose of this study is to provide a fundamental data for reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission of detached houses by investigating the energy consumption characteristic of detached houses in Daegu. Although the ratio of the detached houses decreases, the detached houses are common dwelling form next to apartments. Nevertheless the study about the energy consumption of detached houses has been insufficient compared apartments. There is a necessity which will investigate the energy consumption characteristic of detached houses. Because that with the building quality which is various form is different from apartments. This study investigate construction and equipment conditions and analyzing effective factors on energy consumption of detached houses. And this study draw up the energy consumption unit and emission factors unit for greenhouse gas of detached houses. This study represent a basic report for energy consumption reduction and helps effective use of energy.

To avoid monotony of functionalistic architecture that may be considered the mainstream of modernism architecture, in recent days, the modern architecture displays diversified characteristics. Geometric manipulation method that creates an open space having manipulated a basic geometric shape like hexahedron (cutting out or joining the spatial area onto one side of the figure) is the space manipulation technique that has been introduced and emerged on a full scale since 1970. This technique has been developed as a type of living quarters that has equipped with passive control function, making outside climate flow into the interior. Recently methods for diversified space creation by means of geometry manipulation have begun to appear in domestic low rise multi-family housings other than inflexible box type high-rise building constructions, which comprise the mainstream of multi-family housing.

The impermeable area on the surface of city has been increased as buildings and artificial landcover have continually been increased. Urban development has gradually decreased the green zone in downtown and alienated the city from the natural environment on outskirt area devastating the natural eco system. There arise the environmental problems peculiar to city including urban heat island phenomenon, urban flood, air pollution and urban desertification. As one of urban plans to solve such problems, green roof system is attracting attentions. The purpose of this study was to investigate the heat reduction effect according to the development of green roof system and to quantify the heat reduction effect by analyzing through simulation the heat environment before and after green roof system. For thermal environment analysis, Thermo-Render 3.0 was used that was developed by Tokyo Industrial College to simulate. The simulation showed that the heat island index before and after the development of tree-planting on rooftop changed maximum
$0.86^{\circ}C$ and the surface temperature changed about$20^{\circ}C$ . Only with lawn planting, heat reduction effect was great and it means that the green roof system in low-management-light-weight type is enough to see effect. The simulation identified that only lawn planting for green rooftop brought such difference and could lower the heat island index at a narrow area. It is judged that application of green roof system to wider areas might relieve urban heat island phenomenon positively. -
Rapid urbanization resulted in expansion of urban area and increase of population bringing deepened housing shortage. Supply-oriented housing policy made apartment a representative residential space in Korea in spite of the short history of apartment. This study analyzed the shape and arrangement of main building by year and the microclimate in the complex depending on the number of floors. The purpose of this study was to present the basic data in developing apartment complex to solve problems like the stagnation of pollution source and the rise of temperature due to the declined ventilation in apartment complex, and the worsened urban heat island phenomenon due to the impeded flow of wind. This study rearranged the shape and arrangement of main building by year and the tendency of the number of floors by year in the process of change, by generalizing the process of change of apartment complex, a representative modern residential space through preliminary research. Based on it, 8 object lot by age was selected and simulated by using Envi-met. Simulation identified that the change of apartment complex takes place having a positive effect on microclimate in the apartment complex and the microclimate in the apartment complex is influenced a lot by the shape of complex. If in future apartment complex plan, a systematic legal criteria of design is made about the shape and arrangement of main building, it might have a positive effect on the improvement of microclimate in the apartment complex, a representative residential space in Korea.

Various environmental problems due to the rapid industralization and urbanization have been worsened as much as to threaten the environmental restitution of globe and become a critical international issue. Korean government presented the green growth as a new state vision for 60 years afterwards and is making efforts to solve the environmental problems. Daegu metropolitan city has faced various environmental problems including overpopulation of cities, traffic pollution, household wastes and green zone problem because of urbanization for the last decades. As such urbanism continues, the quality of residential environment is rapidly deteriorating and the intensive use of land leads to increase of building area raising the temperature of cities. Therefore there have been demands for the healthy, pleasant and satisfying residential environment and the improvement of residential environment and such recognition rises from society in full measure. Nevertheless the current residential complex concentrates only on raising the efficiency of land use. Related laws in the past(Daegu Metropolitan City, Urban Planning Municipal Ordinance as of October 10, 2003) tried to prepare a standard to segmentalize the building-to-land ratio, floor area ratio and regulations of number of floors vertically, but currently it is abolished and the regulations are becoming eased. The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of the floating wind before and after the vertical segmentation of residential areas(Daegu Metropolitan City, Urban Planning Municipal Ordinance as of October 10, 2003) by using KLAM_21, a model that enables analysing and predicting the flow and generation of clod wind, and to present a plan to improve the quality of residential areas afterwards when developing building lot and re-developing housing areas.

Since the middle of 1990, "High Rise Residential Complex" has been started to construct to fulfill the use of high density land use. In addition, it bacame a major solution for a rehabilitation project to achieve a high volume ratio, which in turn brings a good business. In this study, POE is applied to secure residential satisfaction level between Apartment and High Rise Residential complex. Also life style differences are investigated between the two type of complexes. It was resulted that recent High Rise Residential Complex is quite acceptable in most respects, however interior vetillation and direct wind flow from living space through dining - kitchen to ease the cooking scent is not a satisfactory level. These two factors are most highly demanded for future design of High Rise Complex in considering specialties in our cultural life style.

The nursing-care insurance system started in April, 2000 in Japan. It was a kind of business opportunities for a lot of private entrepreneurs. They came into this care service business from another type of business rapidly. They opened the pay nursing homes with 24 hour nursing. However, the expense load of the nursing-care insurance system was large, local governments started controlling on total numbers of facilities with 24 hours nursing in 2006. So the group houses besides the pay nursing home without nursing care are paid to attention. The pay nursing home has been often managed by the nursing business. Most of the group houses are managed by community based NPO. This study is a case study by the visit and the interview form for one of the group houses. The group house "Shalom Tsukimino" in Kanagawa started operations comparatively at early time among them. Through the study we recognized that a lot of people were helping the NPO as a community service. So they can manage the group house and people who live there get the services with low cost. They show that they separate residence and nursing and use the community service efficiently. We can find a new direction in this case for the life in elderly.

The purpose of this research is to find out The Support Program for Helping the Homeless Reintegrate-a separate program from the homeless supporting system in which Tokyo Metropolitan is emphasizing the existing job-producing support- and its significance and possibility. For this purpose, this research was performed a literature review of the summary of the project and conducted an interview survey for private organizations(social welfare corporation, NPO corporation, etc.) which were involved in the project, and its users. This research looked into the importance and effect of Housing First Policy which is putting emphasis on the necessity of the personally needed support(life support, and work-finding support) after having to secure housing more preferentially than anything else in order for the homeless to keep up a stable living in supporting the homeless. According to Tokyo Metropolitan, 81.6% of the homeless, who were actually involved in this project, were found to make their living continuously at a district based on self-support through finding work and livelihood protection benefits, etc., thus being able to confirm its politic possibility; however, there still remain some issues to be solved in such as, housing level and continuous support of finding work.

The purpose of this study was to suggest urban regeneration methods for deteriorated downtown residential area, considering the development condition of urban blocks. Through the research that are based on literature, field survey, urban planning map and local experts consulting, it found out suitable sites for development such as a deteriorated residential zone or a unused site and it was deduced eight development types from analyzing the characters of developable sites. And then it is suggested various housing forms which were applied to eight development types of developable sites. The consequences of this research are summarized as follows. There are various housing forms by eight development types; block housing, low rise-high density court housing, medium low rise-high density housing, urban housing for low-income groups belong to T1-development of urban strategic position; block housing, housing on hilly site, semi-detached house, lodging house, urban housing for low-income groups, elderly housing belong to T2-development for living benefit; block housing, low rise-high density court housing, housing on hilly site, low rise housing, lodging housing, urban housing for low-income groups, elderly housing belong to T3-development of a small-scale rental housing; block housing, low rise-high density court housing, medium low rise-high density housing, terrace-house, housing on hilly site, low rise housing, block-typed detached house, semi-detached house, cluster-typed low rise housing, town house, urban housing for low-income groups belong to T4-residential environment renewal development; terrace-house, housing on hilly site, low rise housing, block housing, semi-detached house belong to T5-development of a small-scale housing; terrace-house, housing on hilly site, low rise housing, cluster-typed low rise housing belong to T6-development to adapt natural environment; block housing, low rise-high density court housing, low rise housing, block-typed detached house, town house belong to T7-development for community; block housing, low rise-high density court housing block housing, medium low rise-high density housing, terrace-house, housing on hilly site, low rise housing, elderly housing belong to T8-development of environment-friendly.

Recently, there has been a growth of single families around the world and it has become one big consumer population. Now, all constructions companies have to study and to make researches about single family lifestyles for much more beneficial housing plans and marketing strategies. They purpose of this study is to analyze and to suggest what kind of bathroom is suitable and comfortable for them. So, by using the SPSS Windows 12.0, I managed to get the results through the frequency, factor analysis, reliability analysis, one-way anova, t-test etc. The results are 5 life-styles: Substantial Style, Informative Style, Expressive Style, Natural Style and Healthy Style.

Present family pattern of Korean society has been changed into nuclear family pattern based on the married couple from traditional expanded family pattern. As the entire social consciousness has been changed into private disposition, the number of independent household for 1 person has increases. Also, as the delivery age of first child became late according to the elongation of average period for the national education, the increment of average age for the first marriage and women's participation in the society, the family pattern of married couple lasts longer than used to be. Like this, considering the family formed period comprised from a household for 1 person to a household for 1married couple and senescence increase, as any response is inevitable for the requirement of residential space where 1~2 dwellers' life can be accepted economic and functionally within smaller scaled space, development and research on a plan system(flexible-typed plan) increasing the degree of freedom is required in developing plan of unit household. In the study for this, considering the change of population and social structure, I suggest the method in developing economic design responding to the differentiation, designing the change of support-system and infill-system based on the systemic comprehension about the residing environment in the family formation period and the research for main life pattern and residing environment in the family formation period in the present city life. I will set (family) composing system, develop basic and mixing typed standard model and establish the stage of applied development for the development of economic design.

With the recent increase in the number of foreign settlers in our country, we need a societal system which they can adapt well in. In order to successfully settle in our society, the marriage immigrants who especially plan a life in a new environment should be supported with support programs, especially to help them adapt to their very basic housing environment as their daily environment. From this research, through a program analysis of multi-cultural family support centre, the societal support helping to adapt to the residential environment for marriage immigrants in each nation was examined, and grasp an understanding on their adaptation to the housing environment by conducting interviews about housing environment adaptation examples. From the result of analyzing the 100 programs of the multi-cultural family support system, it could be seen that for the marriage immigrants to adapt, various programs are needed. In other words, there are effective programs for the early settlement of the marriage immigrants such as Korean education, tradition culture education, provision of district daily information, but it could be seen that heavier education was needed for, than for the sake of the marriage immigrants who took such education. Through adaptation case examples of 8 marriage immigrants from 5 different countries, it was realizable that the housing problems the marriage immigrants go through, are not limited to themselves, but also are related to the safety of their family and adaptation problems with their children. Therefore, by developing an adaptation program to help with housing environmental adaptation, the lives of the marriage immigrants' families will be supported, and will support early settlement, which then basic preparation for human resources as district societal use will be needed. By developing a program with a housing environmental professional, and if there is a positive effect and achievement, it is expected that there will be a standard program system available for all marriage immigrants.

This study was motivated by the fact that the current tendency of social integration in apartment complex is not fully performed its functions as a recovery from the community. The purpose of the study is to provide basic data to be useful for living environment of apartment complex, through comparative analysis of residential conditions, community consciousness, and community facility using behavior of residents in national rental housing and condominium. The results are as follows. 1) Condominium's residents have high level of community consciousness compare to the national rental's. Even though both targets were generally above the average, housing and construction standard are required to reconsider for the enhancing of community consciousness of residents. 2) To activate the use frequency of community facility, the development and operation of the community program and the community space and facilities are constantly considered in the follow-up studies. 3) The more residents have high community consciousness, the more they use the community facilities.

With the introduction of the ubiquitous technology, the housing culture centers of construction companies have demonstrated future housing image and technology. However, ubiquitous home services are technology oriented items. The purpose of this study was to identify u- services which were realized in domestic future housing and to compare those with services the residents needed greatly refer to researches related to demand for u-service. For this study, field studies were conducted with 3 domestic future housings and precedent studies on demand for u-service were analyzed according to the standard of residents' demand. The results of the study showed that residents prefer u-services for security and control of indoor environment for housework and leisure life. As a result, u-services which residents needed mainly did not correspond with those that were displayed in future housing.

The purpose of this study was to analyze behavioral patterns of elderly residents and to identify the characteristics of using furniture and home appliances by elderly-headed households. For this purpose, field studies that included observation and open-ended interview were conducted with 52 households. The data was analyzed with frequency, chi-square test by SPSS 14.0 for windows. The major findings of this study were that: 1) Elderly households had more sitting-down style furniture which was a traditional living mode than western style furniture. 2) They experienced inconvenience to use home appliances that were not designed for the aged. 3) Their behavioral patterns were related with family type and income.

In this study, small domestic level to examine the development of housing product in terms residential environmental was to determine the spatial plan. And the purpose of this study is to provide a guideline for the lifestyle in small housing. The number of households in the country is expected to rise from 16,420,000 in 2007 to 19,870,000 in 2030, an increase of 21%. This is because while the population itself decreases due to a low birth rate, the number of households rapidly multiplies with the increase of nuclear family and single-person households. The ratio of single-person household is increasing every year at demographics data. The design that suits their needs, however, is not fully explored yet. The purpose of this study is to find out single-person household's lifestyles, and to search and analyze users' needs for spatial composition according to their lifestyles, and then, propose a single-person housing's plan and direction.

Nowadays, apartment is become a representative residential pattern. With these tendency, the concern about the apartment community in order to recover the dreary relationship with neighbors which is one of theproblem of the modern society and supplement of insufficien space of the community. However, this kind of community facirlities programs aren't individualized and it's operation is so paltry that it's actuasituation is no more than a simplesupply. Therefore, this study selected two cases of the apartments which are similar in size of number of families and construction year among winners of an excellent apartment award. I would like to focus on actual conditions of operation and use of the community facilities in management sides' view attempted a comparative analysis.

As the rate of the elderly is proportionally increasing in society, the demands of this group and the services pertaining to them is increasing. The demand for improved services is in relation to national income, the development of medical techniques and the interests of elderly. Therefore, the demand for aged social welfare facilities and management of them is increasing. This paper will focus on the types and states of aged social welfare facilities under the revised aged social welfare law in 2008. Following this research, The Social Welfare Corporation is the highest management level. To date the establishment of more infrastructure has increased rapidly, since 2000. There are many small facilities and a few large facilities.

This research is focused on the 'Resident-participated Workshop' which targets the improvement of residential environment of apartment complex from the residents' point of view. The purpose of the workshop is to induce the residents interest and encourage them to participate in design process, thus, residents will be satisfied with the result with affection and achievement. This research aims the effectiveness of 'Resident-participated' design plan as a program which enables them to maintain and self manage in the long run. The object of this research was the public space within the apartment complex of Susojugong Rental Apartment Complex in Gangnam-ku, Seoul and followings are the contents; 1. Method of 'Resident-participated Workshop'. 2. Program of 'Resident-participated Workshop'. 3. Design analysis of improved apartment complex through 'Resident-participated Workshop' and selection. As a result, it was noticeable that 'Resident-participated Workshop' was an important factor in decision making of designs from the very first stage through communication. As a part of workshop program, design game used cubic models which was useful to enhance the understanding of the participants. It also induced the cubic conception so that intercommunication with the design specialists was possible. But, the development of various workshop method to increase the residents' interest and participation is necessary, especially, program development is required to change the residents' attitude towards the design plan. It is anticipated that a continuous related research is neccsary in this regard.

The purpose of this study is analyzing temporal flow about 20 detailed performance items in the "Housing Performance Grading Indication System". This study try to figure out situations according grade in detailed performance item and to analyze change item about 112 cases(2 cases in 2006, 15 cases in 2007, 46 cases in 2008, 49 cases in 2009), from January 9, 2006 which system is undertaken, to October, 2009. This system consists of 5 main performance section, 14 performance categories and 20 detailed performance items. 5 main performance parts are Noise and Acoustics(Light-weight impact sound control, heavy-weight impact sound control, sound control of toilet, sound control of party wall), Long-life(flexibility, remodeling & maintenance, durability), Landscape & Indoor Environment(landscape, formaldehyde control & ventilation, daylighting, thermal environment), Welfare & Barrier-free(playground and community center, welfare space, barrier-free design), Fire Safety(fire safety, safe place, fire-resisting quality). Total efficiency about housing can understand systematically of 20 perfomance items though this research.

This study is lately stand on the basis of the importance for global warming and environment and accept changes of the paradigm of the 21st century. also it is to start architecturial access that suggest to solutions about environment, energy and health problems in high-rise residential architecture that lately the importance for global warming and environment. Spacially since 1990, high-rise residential architecture has developed into increase rapidly, and nowdays, this has become one of the new residence type. but this have diverse problems. For this reason, this building faced neccessary to improve living space and obtain to eco-friendiness and sustainability. Therefore, this study is focused to environment-friendly architectural certification in Korea and other countries, aims to suggest planning and technical elements from this system. Through 11 cases of high-rise residential architecture certified sustainable certification system, this study drew out tendency and charateristics of main strategy elements. These analysis will express informations of current level and also suggest to direction for improvement in quality of high-rise residence.

The meaning of the characteristics of formative expression in contemporary residential architecture is flowing elements as important means to inbreathe emotional feeling of movement and as automatic and positive wats of expression. So the purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of formative expression in contemporary residential architecture, and to plan residential design linked with this kind of concept. For this study, analysis of case studies were used and the cases were selected in contemporary residential architecture which were represented having formative expressions since 2005. The major results found that the characteristics of formative expression were ex-center, reiteration, dispersibility, diagonality, plasticity, non-linearity, and deconstruction. In addition to that, we derived various methods expressing the formative characteristics, which were mass transformation, plan variation and composition element transformation. Summing these results up, the various characteristics of formative expression in contemporary residential architecture are understood as the results of the free modeling will of architects fulfilled with the spirit of inquiry and experiment to escape from the standard architecture in order to differentiate themselves.

Korea's aging population is increasing rapidly every year. In addition, because of the increase in quantity of apartment complexes, the number of elderly living in apartment complexes is also rising steadily. Consequently, caring about the elderly residents is getting more important in apartment complexes. Currently the most common recreational facility for senior in the apartment complex is 'Kyungrodang'. However, 'Kyungrodang' has not been used as an active community area to elderly residents due to lack of leisure programs and other services. The purpose of this study was to give direction to support leisure life and healthy living for senior residents and to make 'Kyungrodang' usable community space for the residents of all generations. In connection with this, this study also identified to find ways to revitalizing for 'Kyungrodang'. The result of the study suggested the ideas than can improve the usably of 'Kyungrodang' not only to the elderly residents but also to all residents in terms of space planning and leisure programs.

The purpose of this study is to apply the basic data of the color plan to satisfy the internal desire of residents by considering residents's special in housing space. So we analyzed and surveyed the current condition of color plan in housing space where age units of 30~40 are living. The results of this study are as followed. when the current place of color distribution was observed, ceiling and general wall showed that N(white) systems and YR of bright tone was mostly distributed. On other hand the bottom showed that the calm tone YR was mostly distributed. we could know that residents wanted to show the special of rooms by using point wall. This tendency more presented in privacy room than public room. Through this study, we could evaluate that the special of residents is not presented in color plan of the housing space where age units of 30~40 are living. So we could think that it is needed methods of color plan considered the special of residents for discriminative characteristic of the design in housing space.

The purpose of this study is to provide basic data needed for planning apartment community spaces in order to vitalize rental apartments. Indoors community spaces of six rental apartments in Seoul and Gyung-gi were examined. The results are as follows. First, layout types of community spaces in rental apartment complexes were researched and it was found that there are singular types and block types. Depending on the layout type, the space could function as an element to closely associate residents with each other. Second, child care spaces were planned to conveniently utilize the space with space plans, and furniture and appliance plans adjusted for children's characteristics. On the contrary, elderly spaces lacked exercise equipment and subsidiary facilities, and educational spaces caused inconvenience as they did not take into consideration the user characteristics. Third, although indoor community spaces of rental apartment complexes were planned to hold child care spaces, elderly spaces, educational spaces, and neighborhood spaces according to the legal standards of installation, the operation of these facilities were problematic.

A variety of change in modern society has affected a family structure. In addition birth rate is getting lower and nuclear family type is getting common, influence of children has highly increased. According to this phenomenon, needs and concern about education and culture for children increase sharply. Children cultural complex can be learning field, which helps children not only to rediscover the world by themselves but also to have various and abundant experience. The purpose of this study is going to extract a planning factor of the children cultural complex through case studies of korean and oversea project for adaptable children cultural complex. In addition, this study tries to analyze the features of the children cultural complex in korean and oversea. Consequently, The analysis result is to be introduced party room to children cultural complex, used the PVC tile and carpet tile for safety of children and variety, and executed program relevant to nature.

The purpose of this study was to suggest the idea for IAQ improvement of university dormitory through space analysis and residents' evaluation. The data was collected from 105 Konkuk university dormitory residents by a questionnaire survey. As a result, the idea for IAQ improvement of university dormitory can be suggested. First, it was found that it was necessary to improve size of windows and to exchange bathroom exhaust system for ventilation. Secondly, it is important for resident to ventilate and clean their room. Thirdly, the educational program for dormitory residents about maintenance of IAQ was esssentially needed. Also, it is necessary to manage air conditioning equipment maintenance and bathroom hygiene.

In green building certificated housing complex, although various planning factors in terms of 'Energy resource and Environmental impact' were adopted, the residents' consciousness for their economical and psycholgical effect has not been found. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to find out the usability of environment-friendly factors, with regard to the aspects of 'energy resource and environment impact' and residents, consciousness for them in order to provide the useful information to design the user-oriented green building house complex better than previous ones. the finding were summarized as follows: 1)Increasing awareness of 'green building certificated housing complex', Resident should feel contribution to the environment. 2)When mass housing planning, the development of sensible certification is required. 3)Green building certificated housing complex should change from 'certification for the Financial compensation' to 'certification for the Contribution to the environment'.

Recently, we have seen the change of population and family structure, population growth has slowed and family differentiation was constantly done. A rapidly increase of single and couple household. So small-scaled house demand will be increased. Therefore this study planned to solve recent collective housing problem and to satisfy new housing demand. The purpose of planning was that low-rise high-density small-scaled of urban housing complex. This study used for two methods. First methods were literature analysis for domestic collective houses's present conditions and issues. Other purpose was to confirm change of household. Second method is case studies. It went through two phases to select the cases. The cases selected domestic and foreign each eight, total sixteen. The cases analyzed to twelve elements characteristic of housing complex, unit and community facilities. This study applied one area of Seoul to the low-rise high-density small-scaled housing complex.

The apartments rapidly has developed since 1960's in South Korea. Nevertheless, peoples take no interest in the exterior colors used in the apartments. For this reason, purpose of this study surveies the colors used in the main buildings, public facilities, playgrounds and the main entrances, and knows differences of each brand and areas in Jeonju and Gunsan. According to the research, YR was higher than any other color, we recognize differences from the brands and the areas. A distinction of brands is variety of materials and colors in the apartments by the small or medium businesses than in those by the big businesses. A difference of area is more diverse both colors and materials in Gunsan than in Jeonju. It is found that Gunsan is more various backgrounds than Joenju. This study researches the harmony of the colors in the apartment complex; however, the cases used in this study are limited numerically.

A study on the status of CS service and residents' satisfaction of CS service in the apartment houseThe purpose of this study wat to check CS service and to seek directions of development of CS service in apartment house by investigating the status of CS service and residents' satisfaction of CS service. This study indicates brand apartments provide a variety of CS service for the residents living in the apartment houses. In terms of perceptions and satisfaction of CS service, the study has found that there is growing recognition and needs of CS service and it is necessary to reinforce A/S service in aspect of CS service.

Nowadays as public rental apartment increasing, a new national policy for the public rental apartment maintenance is needed. The co-op housing system can be considered as one of the solutions for that needs, as our socio-economical environment changes. This research is on development of the co-op housing maintenance system. The feasibility of the co-op housing maintenance system has been analysed, and an preliminary UML model for the system has been proposed. Research focus is on how the model can be well established from the analysis of a questionnaire survey.

This study is aim to analyze out Living Guide Book for residents in Housing and to have application to Long Life Housing as a precedent study based on Maintenance Guideline to make residents inhabitate, in case of suppling Wet type Short Life Housing with S(Support) and I(Infill), and Long Life Housing with devised SI, durability, alterability, available Remodeling and maintenance effect. Housing with large scale complex and brand-name offers Living Guide Book for residents that contains maintenance contents. Maintenance contents for residents in Housing are complex guide, use method of the each part, guide for repair of defect, repair and change of built -in items ended up life or damaged items. Maintenance contents for residents in Long Life Housing are important because the Manager takes charge of public area and public equipment in S, but the user takes charge of private area and private equipment. Therefore this study analyzes out Living Guide Book for residents in Housing as a precedent study based on Maintenance Guideline of Long Life Housing users.
