The theory of consolidation has been achieved remarkable development in terms of theory such as finite consolidation theory, two dimensional Rendulic consolidation theory. Though those theories are well defined, the analysis is by no means straightforward, because associated properties are very difficult to determine in the laboratory, Therefore Terzaghi's one dimensional consolidation theory and Barron's cylindrical consolidation theory are still widely used in engineering practice. The theoretical shortcomings of those consolidation theories and uncertainties of associated properties make inevitably some discrepancy between theoretical and field settlements. Field settlement measurement by settlement plate is, therefore, widely used to overcome the discrepancy. Ultimate settlement is one of the most important factor of embankment construction on soft soils. Nowadays the ultimate settlement prediction methods using field settlement data are widely accepted as a helpful tool for field settlement analysis of embankment construction on soft soils. Among the various methods of ultimate settlement prediction, hyperbolic method and Asaoka's method are most commonly used because of their simplicity and ability to give a reasonable estimate of consolidation settlement. In this paper, the reliability of hyperbolic method and Asaoka's method has been examined using analytical methods. It is shown that both hyperbolic method and Asaoka's method are significantly affected by the direction of drainage.

이 논문은 step기둥의 자유진동 및 좌굴하중에 관한 연구이다. 축하중을 받는 변단면 기둥의 자유진동을 지배하는 편미분방정식을 이용하여 축하중을 받는 step기둥의 자유진동을 지배하는 상미분방정식을 유도하였다. 또한 이 자유진동을 지배하는 미분방정식을 이용하여 step기둥의 좌굴하중을 지배하는 상미분방정식을 유도하였다. 유도된 미분방정식들을 Heun방법과 Regula-Falsi방법을 이용하여 고유진동수 및 좌굴하중을 산출할 수 있는 수치해석방법을 개발하였다. 실제 수치해석 예에서는 2개의 step구간을 갖는 회전-회전, 회전-고정, 고정-고정 기둥에 대한 무차원 고유진동수화 무차원변수들과의 관계 및 무차원 좌굴하중과 무차원 변수들과의 관계를 그림에 나타내었다.

This study is about the problems found in the process of the current governments planning rural settlement area development. As a measure to solve them, It proposed the analysis method of village characteristic in terms of standard score and tried to use this method as a basic material in planning more effective rural settlement area development. On the basis of the above analysis, which is an objective basic material to solve the problems revealed in the process of the bottom-up development planning by the residents' demands, It shows the following conclusion about what method should be applied to each part according to a village's characteristics and its development level. 1. Accessibility can be a basic material for setting the local area, analyzing its settlement system, and them such development facilities as village-linking roads, rural road, or various kinds of bridges and determining the investment priority. 2. With the index of the industrial basis, we can see what village has plenty of social, economical resources including advanced industrial facilities and looking into the advance level of the industrial basis, we can get some information about determining the local area development direction such as estashing the plan to build a farm product gathering center, a collective work place, storage facilities, and special housing development. 3. Since the issue about living environment is raising it's head, compared to weakened agricultural competitive power, with the analysis of this living environment, we can get an objective basic material for solving problems caused by the local egoism and the effective investment strategy of the limited resources. Therefore, It is necessary that we should abstain from expert-centered planning and formal public opinion-collecting and on the basis of this analytic result, we should plan development. We need to continue our research about index selecting and differentiation, weight etc. and using these analysis methods, we should make up a systematic development plan by analyzing village characteristics and setting the development direction.

The three-dimensional strength behavior of compacted decomposed granite soil was studied using cubical triaxial tests with independent control of the three principal stresses. All specimens were loaded under conditions of principal stress direction fixed and aligned with the directions of compacted plane. For comparable test conditions, the major principal strain and volume strain to failure were smallest when the major principal stress acted perpendicular to the compacted plane. The opposite extremes were obtained when the major principal stress acted parallel to the compacted plane. In cubical triaxial tests with same b values and with ${\theta}$ values in one of three sectors of the octahedral plane, independent of the range of ${\theta}$, higher friction angles are obtained in tests with b greater than in triaxial compression tests in which b 0.0, Comparison between the results of the drained cubical triaxial tests on lksan compacted decomposed granite soil and the cross section of the Mohr-Coulomb failure surface as well as the cross section of the Mohr-Coulomb failure surface were made. Lade's isotropic failure criterion based on vertical specimens overestimates the strengths for tests performed with values of 0 between 90˚ and 1 50˚ the Mohr-Coulomb criterion generally underestimates the strengths of tests performed with values of ${\theta}$ between $0^{\circ}$ and $180^{\circ}$ except around the $120^{\circ}$.

In this study, the characteristics of antiwashout underwater concrete according to the using types of admixture were experimentally investigated. Especially, the comparison on the performance of seven types(CO-A, B, C, D, E, F, G) of the manufactured admixtures was carried out in the same mixing condition and proportions. Based on the results of experiments, the conclusions were summarized as follows : (1) The slump flow on most of specimens except by CO-F type were progressed very well. (2) In most of products, the measured values of suspensions, pH's and air contents were lower than their reference values. However, CO-B, CO-F and CO-G types exceeded the reference ones in suspension and pH. (3) The time lags between initial and final setting were about three hours in most of tests, however, the maximum difference of total setting time was ten hours in comparing with the admixture types. The unit weights were mostly lower than $2300kg/m^3$ and the compressive strengths cured by salt water were about 80% of the ones by fresh water. (4) Finally, in spite of some problems, most of the manufactured admixtures may be performed well their functions in antiwashout under-water concrete if the using quantities are properly controlled by the site experiments.

The normal cement concrete is widely used material to build the construction recently, but it has a fault to increase the dead load on account of its unit weight is large compared with strength. So, main purpose of this study was to establish the physical and mechanical properties of lightweight concrete using expanded polystyrene bead on fine aggregate and natural gravel, expanded clay and pumice stone on coarse aggregate. The test rusults of this study are summarized as follows; 1. The water-cement ratio of concrete using pumice stone was larger than that of the concrete using natural gravel and expanded clay. 2. The unit weights of concrete using pumice stone and expanded caly were shown less than 1,000g/$m^3$. 3. The compressive strengths of all types were shown less than 60kg/$cm^2$, tensile and bending strengths were shown less than l3kg/$cm^2$ and 3lkg/$cm^2$$^2$, respectively. 4. The pulse velocity of concrete was shown similar with using natural gravel and pumice stone, and shown the lowest using pumice stone. 5. The dynamic modulus of elasticity of concrete was shown considerably smaller, and shown the lowest using pumice stone. 6. The static modulus of elasticity of concrete using expanded clay and pumice stone were shown considerably smaller, and shown 22% ~29% as compared with the dynamic modulus of elasticity. 7. The stress-strain curves of concrete were shown similar, generally. And the curves were repeated at short intervals increase and decreased irregularly.
