In the irrigation facilities, the irrigation system is connected systematically, and thus, it agrees to the object-oriented concept. Since it is necessary to go through comparative evaluations and to devise several alternatives plans in designing the irrigation system, it will be very efficient to use the objects that contain the design data. In this study, the object-oriented methodology has been proposed to define the objects, which will be used in the design system of irrigation facility. Furthermore, as for the essential elements of the objects, concept of element objects is formulated. By employing this concept, appropriate element objects have been derided for the irrigation facility. Necessary data model for realization of the objects is examined and selected. And then, required elements for applying the selected data model to the irrigation facility will be proposed

This study aims to develop a potential centrality evaluation model (PCEM) which can evaluate the potential centrality of villages within the catchment boundaries. PCEM is a tool for evaluation of villages\` centralities by the potential centrality index (PCI) developed in this study. For quantification of PCI, total 31 evaluation criteria on the accessibility to other villages and the natural and human environment of the village were introduced. The weighting values of criteria were calculated from the step wise pair-comparision results of 14 specialists in academic fields on rural planning using by AHP (Analytic Hierachy Process) of MCE (multi-criteria evaluation) method. In the results, the weighting values of the spatial accessibility, the natural environments and the human environments were 448, 338 and 214, respectively, among total value being 1,000.

The purpose of this paper, the 2nd stage of this study. is to test the applicability of the potential centrality evaluation model (PCEM) to a case study area. To verify the practical applicabilities of the PCEM, an administrative area of Ucheon-myeon, Hoengseong-gun, Gangwon-do was selected as a study area. Full data on the human environments of total 72 villages within the study area were surveyed. Data on the natural environments were collected through GIS analysis from digital maps developed far this study. The highest PCI (Potential Centrality Index) score was shown at Uhang village of which one being 841 (total score being 1,000), the real single center village of the study area. The evaluation results on potential centeralities of all the villages in the study area would provide decision-makers with more precised information for selection of center villages for development project.

Steel fiber and polymer are used widely for reinforcement material of RC structures because of its excellences of the durability, serviceability as well as mechanical properties. The purpose of this study is to investigate the shear behavior of polymer cement high strength concrete beams mixed with steel fiber. The compressive strength of concrete was based on the 100$\times$200 mm cylinder specimens. The compressive strength of concrete are 320$kgf/cm^2$, 436 $kgf/cm^2$ and 520 $kgf/cm^2$ in the 28 days. The static test was carried out to measure the ultimate load, the initial load of flexural and diagonal cracking, crack patterns and fracture modes. Also, load-strain and load-deflection examined. During the test cracks were sketched against the load values according to the growth of crack. result are as follows; (1) The failure modes of the specimens are increased in rigidity and durability with mixing steel fiber and polymer. (2) The load of initial crack was similar a theory of shear-crack strength. (3) The deflection and strain at failure load of Polymer-steel fiber high strength concrete beams were increased, improving the brittleness of the high strength concrete.

During this study, various stress path tests in previous isotropic and anisotropic (compression and tension) stress histories are performed on weathered granite soil sampled at Iksan, Jeonbuk. Yielding points are determined from various stress-strain curves(stress ratio-shear strain, volumetric strain, normalized energy and dissipated total energy curves). The shape and characteristics of isotropic and anisotropic yielding curves are examined. The main results are summarized as follows . 1) Yielding curries defined from stress ratio - normarized energy and dissipated total energy curves show almost perfect ellipse. 2) Directions of plastic strain incremental vector are not perpendicular to yielding curve. 3) Normarized energy and dissipated total energy spread with similar tendency with respect to yielding currie in stress space.

Natural resources fur the construction materials such as good soil, sand, and coarse aggregates have been encountered to be short due to excessive use by human. Even though some soil has been found to be unsuitable for construction materials, soil with reinforcement can naturally be an answer to these alternatives. According to recently published papers on fiber mixed soil, fiber mixed with soil can improve shear strength, compressive strength and post-peak load strength retention. In this study, a series of tests were performed to clarify the characteristics of fiber mixed soil and to give basic data for design and construction and their engineering properties, that is, unconfined compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, shear strength, crack by drying, freeze-thaw, creep and Poisson\`s ratio, were investigated and analyzed. It has been shown that fiber mixed soil is one of good alternatives fur the civil and building construction materials.

This study was performed to investigate constraint effects of deformation (heaving, lateral displacement) of clayey foundation reinforced with sheet pile at the tip of banking on soft ground, under intact state (natural) and the state of vertical drain respectively. The following results are obtained. 1. In view of reduction in heaving or lateral displacement, sheet pile is not supposed to be of use. 2. Sheet pile is effective only when vertical drain is installed for acceleration of consolidation and gradual loading is applied.
