Cooperation between the GVWS within a few hundred meters has forced MWRs equipped to have service ranges in such a short ranges as well as the limited numbers of channels are available. This kind of situation often produces the frequency interferences between MWRs due to the easy uses of the common and adjacent frequencies between them. Current work provides the details of the frequency interferences and the possible degrees of detections. It is also described that the effective distances for the operation between the GVWS are investigated when they use the common and the adjacent frequencies each other with the factors as the frequency intervals and the antenna arrangement angles.

So far, Korean command post vehicles(CPs) have used voice-only radio communication among the mechanized troop units such MBTs and IFVs, etc. But digital data communication technology should be introduced to improve mission success capabilities and accommodate integrated combat capabilities through increasing SA(situation Awareness), or spatiotemporal synchronization of military operation in battle field environment. Therefore, conventional CPs, which have been operated without digital network, urgently needs to mount a battle management system which furnish with tactical information network, considering that korean new MBTs or new IFVs will be fielded soon. This study suggests some performance enhancement method which might be applicable to CPs which have a role of connecting Battalion unit to Brigade C4I system.

The configuration model of a ballute type RAID(Ram Air Inflated Decelerator) for reducing the high speed and high revolution of smart submuntion is designed and tested. Three dimensional incompressible turbulent flow computational fluid dynamic analysis for the assembly of ballute and submunition is performed and pressure distribution, velocity, and drag around the assembly is calculated. Aerodynamic characteristics of the ballute assembly such as air flow inside and outside of the ballute and pressure distribution is clearly shown and it's drag coefficient is computed. Trajectory analysis of the submunition is performed and is in good agreement with the descending trajectory data of experimental model tested.

The existing management system of Naval combat system does not provide efficient management methods since an integrating management mechanism does not exist. This paper examines the existing Naval combat system management techniques and summarizes their shortcomings. To solve the drawbacks, we apply the Simple Network Management Protocol(SNMP) mechanism and propose a more efficient management method. Based on SNMP, we analyze the requirements of management system from the perspective of an agent and a manager. We design the management system and also define the management information as SNMP Management Information Base(MIB). We implement a prototype based on our proposed design and verify our prototype by applying the system to the management of selected network devices in a real environment.

The galvanic corrosion of a vessel, or systems fitted to minimize the ship's corrosion such as ICCP (Impressed Current Cathodic Protection) system and sacrificial anodes, can lead to significant electrical current flow in the sea. The presence of vessel's current sources associated with corrosion will give rise to detectable electric field surrounding the vessel and can put it at risk from mine threats. For this reason, it is necessary to design corrosion protection systems so that they don't only prevent a hull corrosion but also minimize the electric field signature. In this paper, we describe theoretical backgrounds of underwater electric field signature due to corrosion and corrosion protection system on naval vessels and analysis results of the electric field according to the ship's hull and it's propeller coating damage and ICCP anode displacement.

This paper proposes the qualitative method for planning the operation of multi-AUVs with environmental disturbances, which is considered to be a very difficult task. In this paper we use an extension collision map as a collision free motion planner. The tool was originally developed for the multiple ground vehicles with no internal/external disturbance. In order to apply the method to a water environment where there are tides and waves, and currents, we analyze the path deviation error of AUVs caused by external disturbances. And we calculate safety margin for the collision avoidance on the extension collision map. Finally, the simulation result proves that the suggested method in this paper make multi-AUVs navigate to the goal point effectively with no collision among them.

A distributed missile system is composed of command control center, radar and launcher which exchange information each other to use wire or wireless network. The distributed missile system is required mobility for operational convenience and survivability. Also missile system requests land navigation system to provide relatively accurate attitude. For reason of these requirements, each subsystem needs land navigation which provides information of position and attitude. This paper represents operational concept for land navigation to consider operational environment and concrete operational procedure to apply the operational concept. In state that there is no operation for land navigation of distributed missile system internally so for, this paper could be helped to establish operational concept and procedure of this kind of system.

In this paper, we propose a documentation case(before DAPA establishment) for weapon system development that defines development phases, documents which must be produced as a result of development, and relationship between those documents. To develop the documentation system, US DOD Standard, US Military Standard, and instructions of ROK MND are presented and analyzed in the point of standardizing documents. As a result, development phases and document case which is related to those phases are presented for weapon system development.

The LVC(Live, Virtual, Constructive) system of CTC(Combat Training Center) is at the very cutting edge of modeling and simulation technology, which has become widely accepted an enabler for a new military training transformation. In this paper, the architecture of LVC system is proposed for the Korean brigade-level CTC, and high level operational architecture, system architecture, and technical standard architecture are suggested.

It is very important for weapon systems to manage the logistic support for the better combat readiness. Therefore, in this paper we review the issues of logistic support and suggest alternatives to effectively manage the logistic support for weapon systems by using performance based logistics, especially during operations and support phase.

A fast, simple, inexpensive, and reproducible sample preparation for extraction and analysis of HD in water was studied using single-drop microextraction(SDME) and GC-MS. Operation parameters, such as extraction solvent, extraction time were optimized. The optimized conditions were $1\{mu}L$ trichloroethylene and 10 min extraction time. In these conditions, about 42 times higher enrichment factor(EF) was obtained. The detection limit of HD was $1\{mu}g/L$, and the precision expressed as relative standard deviation was about 9.0%.

This study attempted to develop the technology by gaseous ozone for decontaminating building affected by a model of biological weapon agent(Bacillus subtilis spores) instead of Bacillus anthracis spore. The use of ozone is attractive method from a practical point of view of decontamination procedure since it has strong oxidation power but no residue after application. We examined the disinfection efficiency of gaseous ozone to Bacillus subtilis spores which suspension was sprayed on different material surfaces and dried. Three different types of gaseous ozone was applied : dry ozone, dry ozone with humidified air, and water bubbled wet ozone. Dry ozone(1500ppm) failed to achieve any significant inactivation for 2hrs. However, six log reduction of B. subtilis spore was achieved within 30min by 1500ppm of water bubbled wet ozone. This result shows the noticeable inactivation efficiency by gaseous ozone compared with previous studies. Good performance by wet ozone was also found for military material surface.(i.e. : gas mask hood, protective garments, army peinted metal surface).

A Plastic Bonded Explosive(PBX) is mainly composed of nitramine explosive and polymer binder. The great number of serious applications of PBX requires the good adhesion between nitramine crystals and binder, which depends on the surface characteristics of a filler and binder. In the pursuit of the better design to achieve the enhanced adhesion, profound knowledge of the surface and interfacial characteristics of explosive and binder should be exploited. In this study, the influences of physicochemical properties between RDX and binders such as interfacial tension($\gamma_{SL}$), latent heat($Q_m$), and density($\rho$) on impact sensitivity of PBX were investigated. As experimental results, the major contribution factor to impact sensitivity of PBX was the interfacial tension, compare with other surface properties. The correlation coefficient of $H_{50}$ versus $\gamma_{SL}$ is 0.9932 when a polynomial regression method was used.

Current paper investigates the dynamic behavior and stability of an infrared search and track subjected to external disturbance having gimbal structure with three rotating axes keeping constant angular velocity in the azimuth direction. Euler-Lagrange equation is applied to derive the coupled nonlinear dynamic equation of motion of infrared search and track and the characteristics of dynamic coupling are investigated. Two equilibrium points with small variations from the nonlinear coupling system are derived and the specific condition from which a coupled equation can be three independent equations is derived. Finally, to examine the stability of system, Lyapunov direct method was used and system stability and stability boundaries are investigated.

Backlash in the actuator is one of the most important nonlinearities that limit the performance of speed and position control of mechanical systems. In this paper, we propose disturbance observers in order to estimate the effect of nonlinearities and cancel them subsequently. As a result the disturbance observers make the nonlinear system behave linearly. And finally we show that the disturbance observers guarantee the system robustness and the performance to reject the effect of backlash in the face of parameter uncertainties.

A three-wavelength solar bank is a very important part for a solar simulator with commercial superlux lamps. It is projected metal halide lamps to satisfy following points simultaneously: $\pm$10% of uniformity for irradiance of target area and irradiance in each wave region, and $1,232W/m^2$ of maximum solar irradiance in summer. The developed solar lamp bank has been analyzed numerically by commercial programs in this study to carry out experiments. In conclusion, designed B-type heat lamp is not concentrated in one place than designed A-type heat lamp, it is spreaded widely, and it was proved numerical computation. We suggest that solar simulator is applied to actual experiment test through heat flow numerical analysis in solar lamp bank and the lamp is applied private industry or the military using complex environmental assessment test.

An experimental study has been conducted to investigate the effects of circular damage hole on the characteristics of airfoil performance. The damage on a wing created from a hit by anti-air artillery was modeled as a circular hole. Force balance measurements and static pressure measurements on the wing surface were carried out for the cases of having damage holes of 10% chord size at quarter chord and/or half chord positions. All experiments were conducted at Reynolds number of $2.85\times10^5$ based on the chord length. The surface pressure data show big pressure alterations near the circular damage holes. This abnormal surface pressure distribution produces shear stress that could lead to the acceleration of the structural degradation of the wing around the circular damage hole. However, in spite of the existence of circular damage holes, the measured force data indicated the only a slight decrease in lift accompanied by increase in drag compared to the results of undamaged one. The influence of damage hole on the aerodynamic performance was increased as the location of damage moved to the leading edge. The effect on the control force was insignificant when the damaged size was not large.

In the present paper, a transonic mixed-flow compressor that has relatively lower frontal area than that of centrifugal compressors is discussed, and aerodynamic design as well as performance prediction are performed. Main design constraints are compressor exit Mach number of 0.3 and flow angle of 30degrees at the design point, and maximum overall compressor diameter of 177mm, that is 7.0inch. The mass flow rate of design point and pressure ratio are 1.05kg/s and 5.2:1, respectively. The aerodynamic design results show that the transonic compressor designed with forward-swept inducer and curved diffuser can have the target performance with efficiency of 75% within the given constraints. And the compressor exit flow characteristics are discussed here.
