Picosecond lasers are a very effective tool for micromachining metals, especially when high accuracy, high surface roughness and no heat affected zone are required. However, low productivity has been a limit to broadening the spectrum of their industrial applications. Recently it was reported that in the micromachining of copper with a 1064nm picosecond laser, there exist the optimal pulse energy and repetition rate to achieve the maximum volume ablation rate. In this paper, we used a 515nm picosecond laser, which is more efficient for micromachining copper in terms of laser energy absorption, to obtain its optimal pulse energy and repetition rate. Theoretical analysis based on the experimental data on copper ablation showed that using a 515nm picosecond laser instead of a 1064nm picosecond laser is more favorable in that the calculated threshold fluence is 75% lower and optical penetration depth is 50% deeper.

Recently advanced laser processing is widely introduced to improve the efficiency of micro part production and to reduce the rate of inferior goods. In this paper the trend of delamination of single layer with both thin copper and polyimide according to the variation of copper thickness was investigated using the coupled thermal-structural analysis of ANSYS. From these analyses results, some conclusions were obtained. Firstly, the maximum temperature was increasing with respect to decrease of copper thickness. Secondly the maximum strain which was in general estimation the main effect of the delamination was observed in case of the copper thickness of $5{\mu}m$. Finally the trend of the delamination was decreasing with increasing the thickness of copper layer.

In this paper, we controlled the edge angle of fiber by using $CO_2$ laser. In order to control the angle, tilting angle of fiber on stage and the number of scan repetition are adjusted, and laser power is fixed at 30 W in the experiment. In the polishing result, the edge angle of fiber can be changed from $4^{\circ}$ to $8^{\circ}$, as changing the tilting angle and the number of scan repetition. This $CO_2$ laser polishing can fabricate ball lenses with various curvatures and a sharp probe as well as the edge angled fiber.

In this paper, we fabricated breathable films on the use of microwave oven by using UV nanosecond laser micromachining, and the number of micro-grooves on the film is controlled for different oxygen transfer rate(OTR). As different number of micro-groove, the breath films of 100,000cc, 120,000cc, and 150,000cc can be fabricated. The breath film package of 120,000cc is used for the experiment of steaming a sweet potato. At the result, the sweet potato is well-cooked with enough moisture in the package not bursted.
