Recently, ordinary mail is decreasing continuously by the development of ICT (Information and Communications Technology) including E-mail, messenger service, and etc. On the contrary, parcel post is increasing by the increase of online shopping, home shopping, and etc. Aside from these changes, the demand for various mail acceptance and delivery means is increasing with the increase of single households and dual-income couples. To overcome these environmental changes, Korea Post installs unmanned post offices which are composed of various unmanned mail acceptance and delivery postal systems. In this paper, we propose the methodological approach for the site selection of unmanned post office among the existing post offices and the installation standard of unmanned postal system considering the operation cost by the mail volume.

This study provides a framework to assess network design under the regime of QoE (Quality of Experience). Our approach is expected to reveal the necessity of developing the QoE measures and applying this notion to network design, particularly in the mobile environment. Furthermore, our model shows the ample potential that both users and network providers are able to attain a win-win case by shifting the focus on network design and service operations from QoS (Quality of Service) to QoE. Since the former considers only relevant technological specifications, it may fail in capturing critical factors surrounding users, such as a context where the corresponding user is working on. For example, according to one study [13], the bit-rate, a widely employed QoS measure, shows inferior performance in provisioning network resources to the MOS (Mean Opinion Score), a representative QoE measure. Our framework develops the idea and construct a prototype to systematically assess network design and operations in terms of QoE. The proposed prototype aims at achieving a higher level of efficiency without severely deteriorating users' satisfaction level. We also provide some simulation results which support our idea. That is, reducing the chance of over-provisioning on the basis of the QoE paradigm results in a great flexibility. It may give price cut for users or postponement of network investment for providers or both. Our simulation results also seem robust irrespective of the forms of the QoS-QoE relationship.

The objective of the study is to propose the catch-up strategy of Hyundai Kia to become the globally leading company in the automobile industry. For this, we try to compare Hyundai Kia with three leading automobile companies: Toyota, VW, and GM by using the Generalized Double Diamond Model. As a result, we present three ways that Hyundai Kia can become a "First Mover." The three strategies are : 1) controlling increase of wage, raising productivity, and increasing R&D investment 2) increasing overseas investment of the small and medium sized automobile factories 3) pursuing the two tracks strategy of a public car and a prestige car more aggressively. This study is significant in the fact that it presents the catch-up strategy of Hyundai Kia in the automobile industry, of which the leaders can not be changed easily, by the Generalized Double Diamond Model approach.

The government is mapping out R&D innovation measures aimed at improving the qualitative level of the performance of national R&D projects that are supported by grants or public funds. This paper proposes ways of making improvements in technology planning, project assessment, performance management, and results evaluation in order to boost the efficiency of the country's promotion of ICT R&D projects, as well as to upgrade the processes involved with its technological innovation system at each of the commercialization stages of its R&D projects. According to our experts' in-depth survey and interview, it has been found that technology planning is the most important phase in the full cycle-based technological innovation system and that the promotion of a combination of top-down and bottom-up approaches is the most reasonable. This paper also suggests it is necessary to secure a process for exploring technological opportunities as the preparatory phase for technology planning, and that it is desirable to reflect the technology demand map associated with the technology road map. Currently, R&D projects are divided into policy designation, designation contest, and free contest. To minimize the inefficiency associated with indiscriminate competition, this paper proposes the introduction of a general contest system in order to change the project assessment system into one based on the results of the competition in each category(e.g. firms, universities, research institutions, etc.).

Being the FinTech technologies rapidly developed, the non face-to-face private loan market is also growing dramatically. While the real-world interests in this market are keen, the empirical studies on the issue are few compared to its prospective impact on credit loan market. This paper suggests a credit scoring model for the non face-to-face private loan employing the ratings approach (the absolute measurement method) of AHP. Analyzing a sample of data consisting of 460,000 transaction records over an 8-year period in the United States, we develop a scoring model for the non face-to-face private loan screening, and validate the model for the practical usage. Conducting sensitivity analysis, we suggest customized cut-off points for the loan execution to suit each individual loan institution's need.

In this paper, we design sampling inspections and service capacities simultaneously for multi-products. Products are supplied in batches after rectifying inspections, that is, rejected lot is subject to total inspection and defective products are reworked to good ones. When supplied, all defective products are uncovered and returned to service. Particularly, we extend Kim [1] by introducing the fixed costs of providing services and show that the cost function of a product is no longer linear or convex in terms of the level of service provision. We develop a framework for a product to deal with this joint design problem and a dynamic programming algorithm for multi-products which allocates the given number of the total service capacities among products with the considerably smaller computations than the total number of possible allocations.

In this paper, we present empirical testing result to examine the validity of inbound supply and outbound demand risk factors in the sense of early predicting the firm's bankruptcy risk level. The risk factors are drawn from industry uncertainty attributes categorized as uncertainties of input market (inbound supply), and product market (outbound demand). On the basis of input-output table, industry level inbound and outbound sectors are identified to formalize supply chain structures, relevant inbound and outbound uncertainty attributes and corresponding risk factors. Subsequently, publicly available macro-economic indicators are used to appropriately quantify these risk factors. Total 68 industry level bankruptcy risk forecasting results are presented with the average R-square scores of between 53.4% and 37.1% with varying time lag. The findings offers useful insights to incorporate supply chain risk to the body of firm's bankruptcy risk level prediction literature.
