  • Many system devices for fluoroscopic and general X-ray studies in diagnostic radiographic system have been being changed from analog mode to digital mode. In addition, among diagnostic imaging and radiologic examinations, fluoroscopic studies that requires functional diagnosis is being widely used. The video recording method of fluoroscopic studies has been useful in functional image diagnosis and dynamic image observation, but the utility of its image quality is being reduced because of limitation in setting play segments of the video player, inconvenience of play, difficulties in preserving reproduced images, the change of image quality, etc. In order to complement these shortages, it is necessary to facilitate access to patient diagnosis information such as storing, editing and sharing functional diagnosis images in response to the trend of the digitalization of digital radiographic & fluoroscopic system(DRF). Thus this study designed and implemented a device of storing functional dynamic images real time using a computer rather than existing video recording, aiming at contribution to functional image diagnosis.

  • Until recently, interest in human complement receptor type I (CR1) has focused on immune complex processing, which contributed to our understanding of regulatory mechanism of complement activation. However, the promoter structure and transcriptional regulation of human CR1 gene has not been clear. To study the unique regulation of human CR1 gene expression, we assessed promoter activity of the $5^1$-flanking region of human CR1 gene using transient transfection and gel mobility shift assays. In this study we demonstrated that NF-Y binds to the inverted CCAAT element and that the functional interaction with protein(s) which bind to the GC-rich motif may be necessary for optimal transcription of human CR1 gene. We also show that sequence elements which located at-95/58 and +45/+50 are important for optimal transcription of CR1 gene.

  • The aim of this study is to analyze the complementizer that-deletion in embedded complement clauses in English. This paper is concerned with the alternation between the overt that-complementizer and the zero complementizer by the complementizer deletion (C-deletion or that-deletion) in constructions with a nominal complement that-clause, i.e. [VP Verb [CP that-TP]]. In this paper, we compare that-complementation and zero-complementation in a diachronic grammaticalization and corpus, and show that the complementizer that has its origin in pronouns diachronically and finally becomes to form a C-head of the functional category CP. We provide the syntactic and semantic explanation on the optionality of that-deletion while answering the question why and how that-deletion is getting increasing in use especially with the verb, think, in the informal contexts. With the major causes for the currently increasing use of that-deletion, we are concerned with the contexts in which the overt complementizers or the covert complementizers are preferred.

  • In order to deal with the increase of container cargo traffic volume more effectively, the ministry of maritime affairs & fisheries has a long-term plan to develop Gaduk Island. According to the plan, the New Port will handle 4,600,00TEUs annually. The completion of the project will enable the port of Busan to perform as a hub port in the Asia Pacific era of the year 2000 with sufficient port facilities, and this will lead to a new era of oceanic Korea. With the advent of the Pacific Rim Era of the year 2000, Busan metropolis has set a strategic development plan to establish the area as the center of logistics in the noreast Asian region as well as to become the stronghold of economic activity in Korea's southeast region. To this end, industries that will open the doors to a marine era and a new industrial complex focused on logistics are planned in the West Busan area where Gimhae International Airport and the Busan New Port meet. This paper aims to find out the functional relation and complement between the Busan New Port Distri-Park handing container cargo traffic volume and the West Busan Logistics Pa가 handling an air cargo and railroad goods. Especially, paper aims to suggest the West Busan Logistics Park as the efficient management of the container cargo traffic volume due to the Development Plan of the Busan New Port.

  • In this paper, a pair of ω-compatible self mappings in the setting of modular G-metric space is defined. We prove the existence and uniqueness of common fixed point of pairs of ω-compatible self mappings in a G-complete modular G-metric space. Furthermore, we give an example to justify our claims. The results established in this paper extend, improve, generalize and complement some existing results in literature.

  • The vesicular glutamate transporter (VGLUT) transports glutamate into pre-synaptic vesicles. Three isoforms of VGLUT have been identified in humans, but their functional differences remain largely unknown. EAT-4 is the only homologue of human VGLUT in C. elegans. Here we report that mutants of eat-4 exhibit hyperforaging behavior and that each of the isoforms of human VGLUT functionally rescues the defects in eat-4 worms.

  • In this paper cellular neural networks with continuously distributed delays are considered. Sufficient conditions for the existence and exponential stability of the almost periodic solutions are established by using fixed point theorem, Lyapunov functional method and differential inequality technique. The results of this paper are new and they complement previously known results.

  • In this paper, iterative algorithms for approximating a common fixed point of a countable family of multi-valued demicontractive maps in the setting of Hadamard spaces are presented. Under different mild conditions, the sequences generated are shown to strongly convergent and ∆-convergent to a common fixed point of the considered family, accordingly. Our theorems complement many results in the literature.

  • Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) is a noninvasive optical imaging technique that indirectly assesses neuronal activity by measuring changes in oxygenated and deoxygenated hemoglobin in tissues using near-infrared light. fNIRS has been used not only to investigate cortical activity in healthy human subjects and animals but also to reveal abnormalities in brain function in patients suffering from neurological and psychiatric disorders and in animals that exhibit disease conditions. Because of its safety, quietness, resistance to motion artifacts, and portability, fNIRS has become a tool to complement conventional imaging techniques in measuring hemodynamic responses while a subject performs diverse cognitive and behavioral tasks in test settings that are more ecologically relevant and involve social interaction. In this review, we introduce the basic principles of fNIRS and discuss the application of this technique in human and animal studies.

  • One of the controversial issues in English locative inversion (LI) construction( e. g. Under the tree sat a woman) has been the functional status of preverbal PP and postverbal NP, i.e. whether they are a subject, a complement, or filer (topic) Based on the distributional parallelisms between the PP and NP on the one hand and an ordinary subject and filler on the other this paper proposes that the PP has a dual function as a subject and filler, while the NP also has some subject properties that the PP does not have These mixed functional properties are analyzed in the theory of HPSG expecially with the versions recently developed by Sag(1997) Manning and Sag(1999) and Ginzburg and Sag(to appear). This analysis claims that the LI construction needs to satisfy two general, independent constraints head-subject- phrase and head-filler-phrase. This position suggests that the English LI construction is an instance of the peripheral phenomena whose construction specific constraint is inherited from more general core constraints.
