반응표면법을 이용한 솔레노이드형 자기액추에이터의 치수 최적화 설계 (Parameter design optimization of solenoid type magnetic actuator using response surface methodology)

  • Solenoid type magnetic actuator is the device, which could translate the electromagnetic energy to mechanical force. The force generated by magnetic flux, could be calculated by Maxwell stress tensor method. Maxwell stress tensor method is influenced by the magnetic flux path. Thus, magnetic force could be improved by modification of the iron case, which is the route of the magnetic flux. Modified design is obtained by parameter optimization using by Response surface methodology.

  • 6%, 8%, 10%의 도토리묵에 데여 응력완화검사 (stress relaxation test)를 실시하여 전형적인 응력완화곡선 (stress relaxation curve)을 구하였다. 연속잔차법 (successive residual method)을 사용하여 완화곡선을 분석한 결과, 도토리묵은 spring 하나에 Maxwell 모형이 세개인 7-element, generalized Maxwell model 로 해석할 수 있었다. 또한 도토리묵가루의 농도가 커질수록 도토리묵의 평형탄성율(E$_{e}$) 과 탄성율( $E_1$, $E_2$, $E_3$)이 증가하였다.

자기시스템의 Korteweg-Helmholtz 전자력 밀도와 자하 전자력 밀도의 비교 (Comparison of Korteweg-Helmholtz Electromagnetic Force Density and Magnetic Charge Force Density in Magnetic Systems)

  • In magnetic systems, distribution of electromagnetic force density causes mechanical deformation, which results in noise and vibration. In this paper, Korteweg-Helmholtzs energy method and equivalent magnetic charge method are employed for comparison of their resulting distributions of force density. The force density from the Korteweg-Helmholtzs method is expresses with two Maxwell stresses on the inside and the outside fo magnetic material respectively. The other is calculated using the magnetic Coulombs law. In the numerical model of an electromagnet, their numerical results are compared. The distributions by the two methods are almost the same. And their total forces are also shown to be the same to the one calculated from the conventional Maxwell stress tensor. But the magnetic charge method is easier and more efficient in numerical calculation.

비전도성 벽과의 상호작용에 따른 단일 입자의 직류 유전영동 운동 (Direct-current Dielectrophoretic Motions of a Single Particle due to Interactions with a Nearby Nonconducting Wall)

  • 본 논문에서는 외부에서 균일한 직류전기장이 인가될 때 점성유체에 자유롭게 잠겨있는 단일 입자가 근처의 비전도성 평면 벽과의 상호작용 때문에 유발되는 2차원 유전영동 운동에 대하여 수치연구를 수행하였다. 특히 입자-유체 경계면에서 불연속적으로 급격히 변화하는 전기전도도를 가진 Maxwell 방정식을 해석하고 전기장을 구한 후 Maxwell 응력텐서를 적분하여 입자에 작용하는 유전영동 힘을 계산하였다. 해석 결과 전기장이 벽과 평행하게 인가될 때 입자는 항상 반발력이 유도되어 벽으로부터 멀어지는 방향으로 유전영동 운동이 발생하였으며, 그 운동특성은 입자와 벽 사이 간격과 입자의 전도도에 따라 크게 달라졌다. 운동 강도는 입자와 유체의 전도도가 서로 같으면 사라지나, 전도도가 서로 다르면 그 차이가 클수록 강도는 증가하였다.

  • The magnetic force calculation methods, the Maxwell's stress tensor method, virtual work method, and nodal force method, are reviewed and the equivalence of them are theoretically proved. The methods are applied to the magnetic force calculation of 2D linear and nonlinear problems, and 3D nonlinear problem. As the results, the convergence of the methods as the number of elements increases, accuracy of the methods, and integral path dependence of the methods are discussed. Finally some recommendations on the usage of the methods, including the determination of the integral path, are given.

  • For a given brushless DC linear motor, we suggest the numerical prediction methods to analyze it's thrust characteristics. First, we calculate the magnetic flux density by the finite element method, and we then compute the maximum thrust with three computational methods - a Lorentz equation, a Maxwell stress method and a virtual work method. To confirm the accuracy of the computational methods, we measure the thrust of the linear motor made by our laboratory with a force-torque sensor. Also, we calculate the thrust by the measured back electromotive force. To choose the appropriate method for a specified application, we compare the maximum thrusts of the computational method and the calculation by the back electromotive force with the measured one. We conclude that the Maxwell stress method is turned out the best because it has the most accurate results among three computational methods and it is more convenient than the calculation method by the back electromotive force.

자기장에 의한 조화가진을 받는 구조물의 위상 최적화 (Topology Optimization of a Structure under Harmonic Excitation caused by Magnetic Fields)

  • This study is focused on the application of the homogenization design method (HDM) to reduce the vibration level of a structure excited by magnetic harmonic farces. This is accomplished by obtaining the optimal material distribution in a design domain to minimize the frequency response caused by the magnetic harmonic excitation. The Maxwell stress method is used to compute the magnetic force and the HDM is applied leer the optimization. The developed method is applied to a simple pole model that is excited by the harmonic bending farce caused by the current around an adjacent stator. Results shows that the HDM is valid to minimize the frequency response.

  • 전동기와 같이 가동부를 갖는 전기기기는 힘이나 토크를 발생시키기 위하여 고안되었고, 힘이나 토크는 이들 기기의 해석과 설계에 중요한 요소이다. 지금까지 유한요소법을 이용한 전자력 계산 방법으로는 여러가지 방법들이 제시되어 왔고, 그 중 널리 사용되는 방법으로는 맥스웰 응력법과 가상변위법이 있다. 맥스웰 응력법은 맥스웰 스트레스텐서를 이용하여 표면 전자력 밀도를 구하고 이의 표면 적분으로 전자력을 구하는 방법이고, 가상변위법은 물체에 변위가 일어났을 때 발생하는 에너지의 변화량을 이용하여 전자력을 구하는 방법이다. 전류원이 포함된 문제에서는 정확도를 높이기 위하여 벡터포텐셜을 주로 이용하여 자장해석을 하여 왔으므로 본 논문에서는 유한요소법으로 3차원 자장 문제를 해석한 결과인 자기벡터포텐셜을 맥스웰 응력법과 가상변위법에 적용하여 전기기계의 각 요소의 전자력을 구하는 방법을 제시한다. 제시한 방법의 검증을 위하여 해석 모델을 솔레노이드로 하여 제시한 방법으로 구한 전자력을 3차원으로 해석한 결과와 비교하여 그 유용성을 증명한다.

Analysis of Contact Force in Eddy-current System Using the Virtual Air-Gap Concept

  • It is difficult to calculate the magnetic force of an object of magnetic material in contact with other objects using the existing methods, such as Maxwell stress tensor method, magnetic charge method, or magnetizing current method. These methods are applicable for force computation only when the object is surrounded by air. The virtual air-gap concept has been proposed for calculating the contact force. However, its application is limited to magneto-static system. In this paper, we present the virtual air-gap concept for contact surface force in the eddy-current system. Its validity and usefulness are shown by comparison between numerical and experimental examples.

함정용 추진전동기 코깅 토크 저감에 관한 연구 (The Study on Reducing Cogging Torque of Propulsion Motor for Electric Ship)

  • Ships have been propelled and maneuvered by electrical drives since trle late seventies. Recently, rare earth PMs allow the design of brushless motors with very high efficiency over a wide speed range. This is the most important factor in ship propulsion technology. Several types PM motors have been developing for ship propulsion system. However these have disadvantage such as cogging torque. It causes an undesired effect that contributes to output ripple, vibration, and noise of machine. Therefore several techniques may be adopted in designing PM motor in order to reduce the cogging torque. This paper describes cogging torque receding methods such as adjusting arigap length, magnet arc, and magnet thickness. That are analysed by using the finite element method(FEM) and the maxwell stress tensor method.
