Laminar Flow over an equilateral triangular cylinder is studied for several inflow angles. Under an uniform flow of $Re_d$=50,75,100,125,150, the triangular cylinder is rotated by ${\theta}$=$0^{\circ}$,$15^{\circ}$,$30^{\circ}$,$45^{\circ}$,$60^{\circ}$,$75^{\circ}$,$90^{\circ}$,$105^{\circ}$. The governing equations are solved by the PISO algorithm based on the finite volume method of the unstructured grid system. The effects of the inflow angle on the vortex-shedding flows are investigated. The Strouhal number shows a minimum at ${\theta}$=$60^{\circ}$. It is closely related to the variation of pressure and flow structure induced by the movement of separation points.
For an arbitrary integer x, an integer of the form $$T(x)={\frac{x^2+x}{2}}$$ is called a triangular number. Let α1, ... , αk be positive integers. A sum ${\Delta}_{{\alpha}_1,{\ldots},{\alpha}_k}(x_1,\,{\ldots},\,x_k)=\{\alpha}_1T(x_1)+\,{\cdots}\,+{\alpha}_kT(x_k)$ of triangular numbers is said to be almost universal with one exception if the Diophantine equation ${\Delta}_{{\alpha}_1,{\ldots},{\alpha}_k}(x_1,\,{\ldots},\,x_k)=n$ has an integer solution (x1, ... , xk) ∊ ℤk for any nonnegative integer n except a single one. In this article, we classify all almost universal sums of triangular numbers with one exception. Furthermore, we provide an effective criterion on almost universality with one exception of an arbitrary sum of triangular numbers, which is a generalization of "15-theorem" of Conway, Miller, and Schneeberger.

Flow mechanism around air flow sensor of electronic control engine, especially Karman vortex type, was investigated experimentally. The two-dimensional flow characteristics in the intermediate wake region behind a triangular vortex-generator respectively apex forward facing, apex backward facing and vertical flat plates following after apex forward facing(i.e vortex-flowmeter) were investigated at Reynolods number of $ReH=1.4\times10^4$; H is the width of a triangular vortex-generator. The vortex shedding frequency for wide Reynolds number from $7\times10^3$ to $2.1\times10^4$ was also surveyed. The velocity component was measured by X-type hot wire anemometer at 8H downstream from the bluff body. The coherent structure of the intermediate wake behind a bluff body was obtained by conditional phase average technique. As a result, it was verified that the vertical flat plates following after apex forward triangular vortex-generator make not only more linear relation between free stream velocity and vortex shedding frequency but also more periodic vortex in the vicinity of the center of wake.
This paper proposes an approach for composite surface reconstruction from 2D serial cross-sections, where the number of contours varies from section to section. In a triangular surface-based approach taken in most reconstruction methods, a triangular $G^{1}$ surface is constructed by stitching triangular patches over a triangular net generated from the compiled contours. In the proposed approach, the resulting surface is a composite $G^{1}$ surface consisting of three kinds of surfaces: skinned, surface is first represented by a B-spline surface approximating the serial contours of the skinned region and then serial contours of the skinned region and then transformed into a mesh of rectangular Bezier patches. On branched and capped regions, triangular $G^{1}$ surfaces are constructed so that the connections between the triangular surfaces and their neighboring surfaces are $G^{1}$ continuous. Since each skinned region is represented by an approximated rectangular $G^{2}$ surface instead of an interpolated triangular $G^{1}$ surface, the proposed approach can provide more visually pleasing surfaces and realize more efficient data reduction than the triangular surface-based approach. Some experimental results demonstrate its usefulness and quality.
This paper investigates the vibration behavior of pristine and defected triangular graphene sheets; which has recently attracted the attention of researchers and compare these two types in natural frequencies and sensitivity. Here, the molecular dynamics method has been employed to establish a virtual laboratory for this purpose. After measuring the different parameters obtained by the molecular dynamics approach, these data have been analyzed by using the frequency domain decomposition (FDD) method, and the dominant frequencies and mode shapes of the system have been extracted. By analyzing the vibration behaviors of pristine triangular graphene sheets in four cases (right angle of 45-90-45 configuration, right angle of 60-90-30 configuration, equilateral triangle and isosceles triangle), it has been demonstrated that the natural frequencies of these sheets are higher than the natural frequency of a square sheet, with the same number of atoms, by a minimum of 7.6% and maximum of 26.6%. Therefore, for increasing the resonance range of sensors based on 2D materials, nonrectangular structures, and especially the triangular structure, can be considered as viable candidates. Although the pristine and defective equilateral triangular sheets have the highest values of resonance, the sensitivity of defective (45,90,45) triangular sheet is more than other configurations and then, defective (45,90,45) sheet is the worst choice for sensor applications.
The non-dimensional heat loss from a thermally asymmetric triangular fin is investigated as a function of a ratio of upper and lower surface Biot numbers (Bi2/Bi1), the non-dimensional fin length and tip surface Biot number using the two-dimensional separation of variables method. The effect of fin tip surface Biot number on the variation of the non-dimensional temperature along the sloped upper and lower surfaces for the thermally asymmetric condition is presented. The relationship between the non-dimensional fin length and the fin tip surface Biot number for equal amount of heat loss is also discussed as well as the relationship between upper surface Biot number and tip surface Biot number for equal amount of heat loss.
