  • Our aim is to study the properties of Fischer-Marsden conjecture and Ricci-Bourguignon solitons within the framework of generalized Sasakian-space-forms with 𝛽-Kenmotsu structure. It is proven that a (2n + 1)-dimensional generalized Sasakian-space-form with 𝛽-Kenmotsu structure satisfying the Fischer-Marsden equation is a conformal gradient soliton. Also, it is shown that a generalized Sasakian-space-form with 𝛽-Kenmotsu structure admitting a gradient Ricci-Bourguignon soliton is either ψ∖Tk × M2n+1-k or gradient 𝜂-Yamabe soliton.

  • In this paper, we study almost cosymplectic manifolds with nullity distributions admitting Riemann solitons and gradient almost Riemann solitons. First, we consider Riemann soliton on (κ, µ)-almost cosymplectic manifold M with κ < 0 and we show that the soliton is expanding with ${\lambda}{\frac{\kappa}{2n-1}}(4n - 1)$ and M is locally isometric to the Lie group Gρ. Finally, we prove the non-existence of gradient almost Riemann soliton on a (κ, µ)-almost cosymplectic manifold of dimension greater than 3 with κ < 0.

  • The object of the present paper is to study the second order parallel symmetric tensors and Ricci solitons on $(LCS)_n$-manifolds. We found the conditions of Ricci soliton on $(LCS)_n$-manifolds to be shrinking, steady and expanding respectively.

  • We prove that a semi-symmetric 3-dimensional gradient Ricci soliton is locally isometric to a space form $\mathbb{S}^3$, $\mathbb{H}^3$, $\mathbb{R}^3$ (Gaussian soliton); or a product space $\mathbb{R}{\times}\mathbb{S}^2$, $\mathbb{R}{\times}\mathbb{H}^2$, where the potential function depends only on the nullity.

  • In this paper, we investigate the curvature behavior of complete noncompact gradient expanding Ricci solitons with nonnegative Ricci curvature. For such a soliton in dimension four, it is shown that the Riemann curvature tensor and its covariant derivatives are bounded. Moreover, the Ricci curvature is controlled by the scalar curvature. In higher dimensions, we prove that the Riemann curvature tensor grows at most polynomially in the distance function.

  • The aim of the present paper is to study the Eisenhart problems of finding the properties of second order parallel tensors (symmetric and skew-symmetric) on a 3-dimensional LCS-manifold. We also investigate the properties of Ricci solitons, Ricci semisymmetric, locally ${\phi}$-symmetric, ${\eta}$-parallel Ricci tensor and a non-null concircular vector field on $(LCS)_3$-manifolds.

  • The goal of this paper is to characterize a class of almost Kenmotsu manifolds admitting *-conformal Ricci solitons. It is shown that if a (2n + 1)-dimensional (k, µ)'-almost Kenmotsu manifold M admits *-conformal Ricci soliton, then the manifold M is *-Ricci flat and locally isometric to ℍn+1(-4) × ℝn. The result is also verified by an example.

  • We have studied the generation of an array of dark spatial solitons in a self-deforcusing medium. Unlike a single fundamental dark spatial soliton, we show numerically that the generation of an array of dark spatial solitons from a spatially sinusoidal input beam needs an adiabatic amplification of nonlinear refractive index with the beam propagation distance. In experiment, we establish a Mach-Zehnder interferometer for making the sinusoidal input beam and use a cylindrical lens for the adiabatic amplification. We observe that the dark soliton's dip-width becomes narrower and the background intensity distribution becomes flatter with increasing the nonlinearity.

  • A vector field on a Riemannian manifold (M, g) is called concircular if it satisfies ${\nabla}X^v={\mu}X$ for any vector X tangent to M, where ${\nabla}$ is the Levi-Civita connection and ${\mu}$ is a non-trivial function on M. A smooth vector field ${\xi}$ on a Riemannian manifold (M, g) is said to define a Ricci soliton if it satisfies the following Ricci soliton equation: $$\frac{1}{2}L_{\xi}g+Ric={\lambda}g$$, where $L_{\xi}g$ is the Lie-derivative of the metric tensor g with respect to ${\xi}$, Ric is the Ricci tensor of (M, g) and ${\lambda}$ is a constant. A Ricci soliton (M, g, ${\xi}$, ${\lambda}$) on a Riemannian manifold (M, g) is said to have concircular potential field if its potential field is a concircular vector field. In the first part of this paper we determine Riemannian manifolds which admit a concircular vector field. In the second part we classify Ricci solitons with concircular potential field. In the last part we prove some important properties of Ricci solitons on submanifolds of a Riemannian manifold equipped with a concircular vector field.

  • We suggest a generalized Lax pair on a Hermitian symmetric space to generate a new coupled higher-order nonlinear $Schr{\ddot{o}}dinger$ equation of a dual type which contains both bright and dark soliton equations depending on parameters in the Lax pair. Through the generalized ways of reduction and the scaling transformation for the coupled higher-order nonlinear $Schr{\ddot{o}}dinger$ equation, two integrable types of higher-order dark soliton equations and their extensions to vector equations are newly derived in addition to the corresponding equations of the known higher-order bright solitons. Analytical discussion on a general scalar solution of the higher-order dark soliton equation is then made in detail.
