  • This study is an experimental study to introduce the soundscape design for urban parks. subjective response to soundscape for 4 urban park are carried out using 7 scale S.D. method which are included 25 adjective pairs. In order to recognized the effect environmental sound(bird singing, sweet environmental music, nature sound) for enriching the present sondscape, this study analyse the subject response for soundscape after and before using the environmental sound. The degree of satisfaction for visual atmosphere is higher than for auditory atmosphere of parks, this means that visual clues are much more effective to the environment condition than auditory clues. The effect of using the environmental sound is positive and effective to enrich the soundscape. On providing environmental sounds, it is necessary to consider the charcteristics of urban parks.

  • A stage-structured predator-prey system with time delay and Beddington-DeAngelis functional response is considered. By analyzing the corresponding characteristic equation, the local stability of a positive equilibrium is investigated. The existence of Hopf bifurcations is established. Formulae are derived to determine the direction of bifurcations and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions by using the normal form theory and center manifold theorem. Numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the theoretical results.

  • The objective of this study was to determine the response of QTL in each generation during selection to develop inbred lines. The simulation program was written in Fortran. Magnitude of QTL effects, base population size, number of QTL assigned to population, and the allelic frequency for the positive allele at each major QTL were highly associated with number of generations to fixation of QTLs during selection. Populations with larger QTL effects and larger base population size had more individuals with fixed QTL. However, a smaller number of QTL assigned to population had a higher fraction of individuals with fixed QTL at each generation compared with more populations with QTL. This simulation study will help to design biological experiments for detection of QTL-marker association using inbred population and to determine optimum number of lines with fixed QTL during inbred line development. To complement this study, additional simulation should be need with abundant replicates, more various population sizes, magnitude of QTL effects, and recombination between markers and QTLs.

  • When the parasitic wasp Microplitis croceipes experiences odors while feeding on sugar water, it learns to associate the odors with sugar and thereafter exhibits typical food searching behavior in response to the odors. Previous studies have shown that this wasp can be used for detection of the small amount of explosives or other volatile chemicals. In the present study, we examined if this wasp can learn and report narcotic odors. Males of M. croceipes were trained to link sugar water with pseudo-narcotic scents that have been used for training narcotic detection dogs, and their behavioral response to the trained odors was observed. The males that had been given either an odor or sugar water did not show any positive response to the odors. However, when the wasps were given a combination of sugar water and either the pseudo-Cocaine, Heroin, LSD or Marihuana, they quickly learned to associate the odors with sugar, and thereafter positively responded to those odors. Our results suggest that this wasp can be used for detection of these narcotics.

  • In this paper, we consider a discrete predator-prey system with Watt-type functional response and impulsive controls. First, we find sufficient conditions for stability of a prey-free positive periodic solution of the system by using the Floquet theory and then prove the boundedness of the system. In addition, a condition for the permanence of the system is also obtained. Finally, we illustrate some numerical examples to substantiate our theoretical results, and display bifurcation diagrams and trajectories of some solutions of the system via numerical simulations, which show that impulsive controls can give rise to various kinds of dynamic behaviors.

  • This paper reviewed the relationship between superior leadership and job stress responses, and the moderating effect of age in maintenance area of air force. Based on the responses from 450 air force maintenance persons, the results of multiple regression analysis showed that transactional leadership has negative relationship with physiological stress response, charisma has negative relationship with psychological stress, and individual consideration has negative relationship with behavioral stress. In moderating effects, age has negative effect on the relationship between transactional leadership and physiological stress response, and age has positive effect on the relationship between charisma and psychological stress response.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide how various elements of package design affect on consumer response. Those consumers who is living at Sung-nam district and who is using or have used herbal shampoo were selected as respondents for this research. For testing hypotheses. frequency analysis, reliability analysis, and multi regression analysis were utilized with SPSS 12. All elements of package design influenced on brand attitude and purchasing intention. Typography is the most effective element influencing on brand attitude, while illustration is on purchasing intention. This result could be a useful reference for package designer and brand manager to trigger positive brand attitude and purchasing intention.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how the presentation mode (sequential- vs. simultaneous-mode) of information influences its evaluation. Three experiments revealed the interaction effect between the presentation mode and the valence of the product information. When respondents read about the positive aspects of the product, the evaluation was higher in the simultaneous presentation mode than in the sequential presentation mode. For negative product information, respondents' evaluation was higher in the sequential presentation mode than in the simultaneous presentation mode. The simultaneous presentation mode intensified the impact of the information valence on evaluation. This study proposed that the sequential and the simultaneous presentation modes prime high and low construal levels, respectively. The mediation analysis provides support for such a prediction. Finally, the mediating effect of construal levels in evaluation was shown to disappear when respondents focused on the product information for a longer duration, while the mediation effect remained when the response time was short.

  • The purpose of this study is to establish a new management strategy to meet customer needs of discount stores as customers demand higher and more diverse services in addition to low prices. An empirical analysis on consumers to explore the structural relationships between the quality, environmentally friendliness, consumer perception, service value, and emotional response of retail ready packaging (RRP) in discount stores in order to find out how they affect customer satisfaction and repurchase intention. First, it was confirmed that the RRP quality of discount stores that affects customer satisfaction is mediated by the emotional response. Second, it was found that RRP in discount stores should continue to devise strategies to improve service quality along with efforts to provide more benefits perceived by customers to increase customer satisfaction and repurchase intention. Third, it was confirmed that the RRP image of discount stores has a positive (+) effect on service value, emotional response, customer satisfaction, and repurchase intention.

  • Classroom response systems (CRS) have been proven to have positive educational effects on student engagement and participation by allowing immediate feedback to both students and instructors. We explore the use of a chatbot and slide widget-based CRS to overcome some of the challenges of existing mobile-based CRSs while retaining their advantages. Our system uses widely available instant messaging services and operates web-based slide widgets that can be seamlessly integrated into instructors' slides to visualize student feedback in various formats. The student survey results indicate that our system is as effective as conventional CRSs in promoting student engagement and participation.
