  • Dynamic analysis of a typical concrete gravity dam-reservoir system is formulated by FE-(FE-TE) approach (i.e., Finite Element-(Finite Element-Truncation Element)). In this technique, dam and reservoir are discretized by plane solid and fluid finite elements. Moreover, the H-W (i.e., Hagstrom-Warburton) high-order condition imposed at the reservoir truncation boundary. This task is formulated by employing a truncation element at that boundary. It is emphasized that reservoir far-field is excluded from the discretized model. The formulation is initially reviewed which was originally proposed in a previous study. Thereafter, the response of Pine Flat dam-reservoir system is studied due to horizontal and vertical ground motions for two types of reservoir bottom conditions of full reflective and absorptive. It should be emphasized that study is carried out under high order of H-W condition applied on the truncation boundary. The initial part of study is focused on the time harmonic analysis. In this part, it is possible to compare the transfer functions against corresponding responses obtained by FE-(FE-HE) approach (referred to as exact method). Subsequently, the transient analysis is carried out. In that part, it is only possible to compare the results for low and high normalized reservoir length cases. Therefore, the sensitivity of results is controlled due to normalized reservoir length values.

The Effect of DSC Analysis Condition on the Glass Transition Temperature of curred Epoxy This paper studies on the effect of DSC(Differential Scanning Calorimeter) analysis condition on the glass transition temperature of silica filled epoxy network polymer used for ultra-high voltage apparatus. • In this paper, we analyzed the relationship between employment stability, wage level, welfare system, working condition, job satisfaction and organizational commitment in order to find out ways to develop and competitiveness of the nano-convergence industries. Through this study, we conducted the possibility of deriving organizational commitment by job satisfaction which is given through employment stability, wage level, welfare system, and working condition for continuing their work life. In order to find relationships between each concepts, we used a multiple regression analysis with job satisfaction and commitment as dependent variable and employment stability, wage level, welfare system, and working condition as independent variables. Through this study, it was expected to increase the organizational commitment through the job satisfaction of the employees if a changing method of employees management is centered on some tasks suggested for the sound working condition and efficient utilization policies.

  • We prove the existence of infinitely many solutions of the nonlinear higher order elliptic equation with Dirichlet boundary condition $(-{\Delta})^mu=q(x,u)$ in ${\Omega}$, where $m{\geq}1$ is an integer and ${\Omega}{\subset}{R^n}$ is a bounded domain with smooth boundary, when q(x,u) satisfies some conditions.

  • This paper presents an LMI-based method to design a reduced order output feedback sliding mode controller for a class of uncertain systems. Using LMIs we derive an existence condition of a reduced order sliding mode control law. And we give explicit formulas of the gain matrices. Finally, we give a numerical design example, together with a design algorithm.

  • The new Laplace autoregressive model of order 2-NLAR92) studied by Dewald and Lewis (1985) is extended to the p-th order model-NLAR(p). A necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of an innovation sequence and a stationary ergodic NLAR(p) model is obtained. It is shown that the distribution of the innovation sequence is given by the probabilistic mixture of independent Laplace distributions and a degenrate distribution.

  • The nonlinear fourth order elliptic equations with jumping nonlinearity was modeled by McKenna. We investigate the trends for the researches of the existence of solutions of a fourth order semilinear elliptic boundary value problem with Dirichlet boundary Condition, ${\Delta}^2u{+}c{\Delta}u=b_1[(u+1)^{-}1]{+}b_2u^+$ in ${\Omega}$, where ${\Omega}$ is a bounded open set in $R^N$ with smooth boundary ${\partial}{\Omega}$.

  • The Gauge-Uzawa method [GUM] in [9] which is a projection type algorithm to solve evolution Navier-Stokes equations has many advantages and superior performance. But this method has been studied for backward Euler time discrete scheme which is the first order technique, because the classical second order GUM requests rather strong stability condition. Recently, the second order time discrete GUM was modified to be unconditionally stable and estimated errors in [12]. In this paper, we contemplate several GUMs which can be derived by the same manner within [12], and we dig out properties of them for both stability and accuracy. In addition, we evaluate an stability condition for the classical GUM to construct an adaptive GUM for time to make free from strong stability condition of the classical GUM.

  • This study was conducted to find out the actual condition of dining-out and the propensity to dinning-out at luncheon time according to gender, occupation and age in Busan area. The survey was conducted on 564 peoples who live or work, including students acted more than 4th grade in elementary school in Busan area. The results of the questionaires are as follows ; The place to eating-out at luncheon time in order of "about the office or the school" and "about the house". Restaurants used frequently were in order of "Flour food shop", "Korean-style food shop" and " "Chinese-style food shop". Partner to eating-out were in order of "friend", "fellow worker" and "family" But. the results of the place to eating-out, restaurants used frequently and partner to eating-out at luncheon time were different according to sex, occupation and age groups.

  • Here we consider the evaluation of the the dynamic component of the second order force due to wave diffraction by a circular cylinder analytically and numerically. The cylinder is fixed, vertical, surface piercing in water of finite uniform depth. The formulation of the wave-structure interaction is based on the assumption of a homogeneous, ideal, incompressible, and inviscid fluid. The nonlinearity in the wave-structure interaction problem arises from the free surface boundary conditions, namely, dynamic and kinematic free surface boundary conditions. We expand the velocity potential and free surface elevation functions in terms of a small parameter and then consider the second order diffraction problem. After deriving the pressure using Bernoulli's equation, we obtain the analytical expression for the dynamic component of the second order force on the cylinder by integrating the pressure over the wetted surface. The computation of the dynamic force component requires only the first order velocity potential. Numerical results for the dynamic force component are presented.
