The Polarization of Wealth: The Effect of Support of Knowledge Management on Knowledge Management Activity and Company Performance

  • This study attempts to verify effects of CEO' supports, compensation and educational training and those of individual annual salaries and company's sales on promotion of knowledge management expected to contribute to enhancing construction industry's competitiveness, from the perspective of person-organization fit. For the analysis, a total of 368 effective questionnaires were used to conduct independent sample t-test, regression analysis and hierarchical moderated regression analysis. The findings show that individual annual salaries have a positive relationship with company's performance and company's sales also have positive relationships with both knowledge management activities and company performance, and CEO's supports, compensation and educational training are important factors that can improve knowledge management activities. In addition, the principle that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer is also operated in construction industry, as in other industries. Therefore, members in a company should conduct optimal strategies to enhance the knowledge management activities through selection and concentration, while governmental agencies require the establishment of IT system for it and supports for related cost and consulting of it.

  • The objectives of this research are 1) control of schedule or improvement of management for aerial environment, 2) distribution of responsibility to the parties concerned (factory, material company, construction company, design and engineering, occupancy). The results show the relative priority of the four major items in wall-based apartment buildings and in column-based apartment buildings. An analysis of the parties responsible for improvement based on the IAQ results shows more efforts to improve IAQ are needed in material factories and engineering/design companies.

  • Construction companies with the highest proportion in death crash has been devoting much effort to prevent the crash accidents. In general, a crash-proof worker has been wearing a seatbelt. However, the G construction company had happened in industrial settings when workers fail to abide by the rules. The Carabiner, one of the composing of Safety Belt, must endure the Allowable Load. In this study, the Industrial accidents and cause of the crash analysis in G Construction company is performed by empirical research. And we have been studied the empirical research to setting up of the allowable limit for Carabiner.

  • 지식경영이란 무엇인가? 흩어진 지식을 모으고, 낡은 지식을 새롭게 하고, 모아진 지식을 공유하여 새로운 지식을 창조하는 것이다. 지식경영의 성공적인 추진을 위해 가장 중요한 3요소는 최고경영자의 추진의지, 조직 구성원의 참여를 통한 공감대의 형성, 지식경영추진담당 조직의 지속적인 추진의지와 열정이 조화롭게 상호 보완적으로 작용하여 추진되어야 한다는 것이다. 지식경영 추진에 있어 가장 중요한 것은 기업(기관)의 조직 구성원이 지식경영 참여문화(공감대)를 반드시 형성하지 않으면 지식경영이 성공하기에는 다소 무리라는 것이다. 지식경영을 추진함에 가장 중점적으로 해야 할 일은, 우리 민족의 특성인 구술이나 구전 문화를 기록의 문화로 변화 시킨다는 것이다. 지식경영을 추진하는 가장 큰 목적은 과연 무엇일까? 지식 경영을 통해 조직구성원 및 각개의 조직이 보유한 직접경험지식과 간접경험지식의 공유, 활용, 창조를 통해 지식을 자산화하고, 그 지식자산 가치를 증대 시켜서 21세기 건설 산업의 강자로서 다시 태어날 수 있도록 우리 스스로를 준비하는 것으로 정의하고자 한다.

  • The demand for apartments is decreasing as the condition of housing market in Korea has changed. Therefore, construction companies have to understand the needs of the customers to win over them. It is important for construction companies not only to supply customers with high quality apartments but also to provide them high service quality for a long range plan. One of the important service of the construction companies is after-service(A/S) that includes the defect management. The inhabitants' unsatisfactory defect management will worse the image of the company among the future customers. Also A/S is one of the best way for the company to create good impression to the customers. so the defect management carried out by construction firms has to satisfy the inhabitants. In this study. the degree of association between inhabitants satisfaction and the company's image is proved and the factors of the inhabitants dissatisfaction in defect-management are presented. The major factor that causes dissatisfaction is the long service time of the defect management. Therefore, shortening the time of process taken to deal with the defects would allow construction outfits to satisfy their customers effectively and to be more competitive ones in the Korean apartment market.

민간 주택건설회사의 하자보수에 대한 인식 및 실태에 관한 연구 (A study on management and judgement of defect-repair in private housing construction company)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a defect-repair management and judgement of apartment housing for the private housing construction company. The objectives are : 1) to investigate how the defect-repair were managed and 2) to suggest the range, period of defect-repair and the proper managial size of housing company. Data were collected by the interviews from the heads of management departments of housing construction companies. Twenty-one companies selected were divided into three groups according to the amount of housing supply. Major result were as follows : 1) departments of defect-repair in housing construction company are divided into sub-system according to the size of housing supply. 2) the judgement of the range and period of defect-repair are extracted. They are, according to the order of their importance, constructional defect, functional defect, aesthetical defect and the defect in use.

  • The purpose of this article is to search stakeholders' recognition related to Fire Construction Surveillance system; a client(order), fire fighting officer, supervision company, construction company, design company, other. The paper provides 4 important things. Firstly, a client(order) suggested the lowest recognition in the needs about the need of separation order, that of contract for any construction work limited registered companies, and that of standard price for engineering.. Secondly, the design company is lowest recognition in guidance and control participating in construction-design phase. Thirdly, the design company is lowest in adjustment about manpower-allocation according to allocation criteria of technical manpower. Fourthly, a client(order) and supervision company are relatively lower than other stakeholder in necessity on special education and training system for auditor in fire protection construction. Almost all related matters are related to more or less stakeholders' interest.

  • Recently, many disasters have occurred due to poor management of construction site. In addition, as legal regulations on safety management at construction sites are strengthened, its importance is being further emphasized. In relation to smart safety management technology, a study was introduced to build an analysis model through various safety-related data collected within construction companies. This model derives quantitative disaster risk about the site level through information related to past disasters and near misses. However, construction work is performed separately by work group of each partner company. There is a limitation in that individual workers cannot directly experience this analysis information. In this study, we propose a method to derive the safety disaster risk of individual work units from disaster risk of the site level. We expect that this study to be helpful for smart safety management technology of construction sites.

  • 건설 산업은 다양한 프로젝트를 수행하는 수주중심의 산업적 특성상 정형화된 프로세스로 구축하여 운영하는 것이 매우 어렵다. 이에 건설기업의 동적인 업무 변화 특성 수용과 업무개선을 동시에 만족시킬 수 있는 BPM(Business Process Management)의 도입이 대형 건설업체를 중심으로 이루어지고 있는 상황이다. BPM의 특성과 기업의 고유 전략이 상이하기 때문에 일괄적인 적용은 어렵다. 이에 건설 산업의 특성과 프로세스를 이해하고 기업이 추구하는 비전과 목표에 부합하는 업무 프로세스를 우선 선정하여 적용하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 기존 연구 고찰을 통하여 BPM 우선 적용 대상 프로세스 선정방안의 필요성을 제시하고, 건설기업 업무 프로세스 분석을 통해서 건설기업의 BPA를 구축하였다. 국내 건설기업의 전략목표 우선순위 파악을 통하여 높은 우선순위를 가지는 것으로 도출된 수익성과 성장성의 관점에서 핵심 업무 프로세스를 도출하였다. 또한 BPM 적용대상 프로세스 평가 기준을 6가지로 제시하여 이를 바탕으로 핵심 업무 프로세스를 평가하여 BPM 우선 적용 대상 프로세스를 도출하였다.

  • 대형시공회사에 있어 CM 역량강화의 문제는 비단 CM 시장의 진출뿐만 아니라 회사의 역량 강화, 경쟁자와의 차별성 및 수익성의 증대라는 측면에서 대단히 중요한 의미를 갖는다. 현재 미국의 CM시장을 분석하여 본 결과 CM은 EC, GC, 그리고 설계 및 전문 CM사와의 각축속에서 그 규모가 점차 확대되고 있고, 국내의 경우의 경우도 그와 유사하게 진행되어가고 있다. 이러한 상황에 대형시공사는 국내시장에서 기존의 CM 강자들과의 경쟁과 해외시장에서 선진 외국사와의 경쟁을 위해서는 부족한 CM 역량에 대한 시급한 보완이 필요하다고 판단된다. 이에 본 논문은 CM 역량 강화를 위한 교육 전략 수립에 초점을 맞추어 연구를 진행하였고, 각 현장, 사업본부, 직급을 고려한 교육 전략을 제시하였다.
