Difference in Sexual Knowledge and Attitudes between High School and College Girls (여고생과 여대생의 성지식과 성태도에 대한 비교)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to identify the difference in attitudes and knowledge between high school and college girls regarding sexual education. Method: Data was collected from questionnaires given to 99 high school girls and 110 college girls in Seoul and Kyunggi-do. Data was analyzed using the SPSS 12.0 program. Result: In middle school, the time given to sexual education influenced the students present knowledge of sexual education. The sources of sex education were friends, seniors and mass media. The score for sexual knowledge in high school girls was 12.78 and for college girls 24.19. The field that obtained the highest score in territorial sexual knowledge was 'reproductive physiology' in the high school girls. There was little awareness of venereal disease, AIDS, contraception. Sexual attitudes among college girls was more open than that of high school girls. There was a positive correlation between sexual knowledge and attitudes(r=.535, p<.001). The significant difference of items were residence and sexual experience(p<.001). Conclusion: This study was shown that realistic knowledge teaching of venereal diseases, contraception and AIDS should be included in planning of sexual education programs. Specially, the groups had sexual experience and college girls in the dormitory will need more specific teaching.

  • This study aims to reveal the ways to sharpen the edges of Korean companies through the relativity analysis between knowledge management and innovational cluster in environmental changes in resent Busan. That is, according to the knowledge management approach, the methods and directions of strengthening industrial competition were established, while the strategy of innovational clusters was suggested as a way of expanding and encouraging knowledge management. The key words of innovational cluster are in this research are the framework of Cluster theory, the importance of innovational cluster, and the change of managerial strategy paradigm. This study provide the several implication for the practice of knowledge management and the researchers. Based on these theories of knowledge management and industrial clusters, their close relationships were analyzed. As a result, industrial clusters were found to be effectively utilized to enlarge and deepen knowledge management. In addition, this suggests the efficient operation guideline of knowledge management. this study indicates both knowledge and innovational cluster should be operated and handled together in the managerial strategy. but this research has limitations in generaling the study result because it collects data from local firms only in Busan.

Study on the safety management of radiation: centering on the radiation workers in medical institutions (방사선안전관리에 대한 조사 : 의료기관 방사선조사자를 중심으로)

  • While the use of radiation in the medical field provides diagnosis and treatment with important benefits, we cannot deny that the radiation bombing causes some hindrances. The expansion of radiation use in modem medicine is essential, so the radiation use and preparation of proper measure for safety management has risen as a pressing subject. Therefore, in order to make defensive plans for the prevention of health obstacles to general users of radiation and for the provision of basic data of the health education programs to radiation workers by grasping the knowledge, attitude and behavior towards the radiation safety management of radiation workers in each medical institution and by analyzing the factors that affect the actions of radiation safety management, in this study we conducted questionnaires from September 26 to November 5, 2001 targeting 805 radiation workers in 108 medical institutions including university hospitals, general hospitals, hospitals, clinics and public health centers etc. located in Seoul, four metropolitan cities and small and medium cities, and has obtained the following results. 1. The average point of knowledge on the radiation safety management was 10.96 out of 15. As for the general characteristics, the level of knowledge on radiation safety management was higher with older age, high education background and longer career. 2. The average point of attitude on the radiation safety management was 66.36 out of 75. The attitude point for general characteristics were higher with higher education background, longer career and in case of universities, the level of attitude on the radiation safety management was high. 3. The average of action points on the radiation safety management was 56.09 out of 75. In general characteristics, the action level of radiation safety level was higher with older age, longer career, and the reception of radiation education and in case of university hospitals. 4. It is analyzed that the relation of knowledge, attitude and behavior on the radiation safety management is higher as the levels of knowledge and attitude on the radiation safety management is higher. 5. As a result of analyzing the factors that affect the knowledge on the radiation safety management, the variables that can be explained best was in the order of ‘the behavior on the radiation safety management’, ‘work career’, ‘the attitude on the radiation safety management’, and ‘school career’. 6. As a result of analyzing the factors that affect the attitude on the radiation safety management, the variables that can be explained best was in the order of ‘the behavior on the radiation safety management’, ‘the knowledge on the radiation safety management’, and ‘school career’. 7. The Effects and Retention of the AHA's BLS Training on Knowledge and Skills of Nursing College Students (미국심장협회 기본심폐소생술 교육이 간호대학생의 지식과 술기에 미치는 효과와 지속효과)

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine the effects and retention of the American Heart Association (AHA)'s basic cardiac life support (BLS) training on knowledge and skills of nursing college students. Method: The study was a one group pretest-posttest experimental design. The sample included 41 junior nursing students from D college who participated in an AHA BLS course for healthcare providers in K hospital from January 18 to June 7, 2010. The instruction was based on ‘BLS knowledge and skills'. The data were analyzed with paired t-test using the SPSS/PC 12.0 win. Result: First, knowledge (t=-7.648, p=.000) and skills (t=-12.988, p=.000) were significantly increased immediately after BLS training. Second, knowledge (t=4.098, p=.000) and skills (t=50.350, p=.000) of BLS after 4 months was significantly decreased compared to right after BLS training. Conclusion: Knowledge and skills were decreased 4 months after BLS training. Therefore, retraining in BLS is required within 4 months. To maintain the knowledge and skills of BLS, appropriate renewal time and retraining programs are needed.

  • By its nature, software part of the construction industry such as engineering and so forth has been kept secret to outside, as it determines a company$^{\circ}{\phi}s$ competitiveness. As a result, construction field knowledge usually disappears with the end of a project. The objective of this study is to develop the knowledge management (BM) learning model tuned in to construction area in order to manage project-related knowledge and promote the knowledge management. This study presented a learning model for knowledge management in the construction field, with the aim to integrate a series of processes. The model is composed of EIP, EDMS, knowledge and failure cases management, CoP and e-Learning.

Geriatric Hospital Nurses' Knowledge and Attitudes Toward the Aged and Geriatric Nursing Education Needs (노인병원 간호사의 노인에 대안 지식과 태도 및 노인간호 교육 필요도)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the nurses' knowledge and attitudes toward the aged and geriatric nursing education needs in geriatric hospitals. Method: The research design was a descriptive study. Data was collected from 101 nurses working in five geriatric hospitals in D city using structured questionnaires. Result: The mean score of geriatric hospital nurses' knowledge toward the aged was 13.28. The mean score of geriatric hospital nurses' attitudes toward the aged was 79.14. The mean score of geriatric hospital nurses' nursing education needs was 4.00. The correlation between geriatric hospital nurses' knowledge and attitudes toward the aged showed a significant positive value(r=.396, p<.01). According to the above results, the nurses' knowledge toward the aged was high, the attitude was neutral, and the nursing education needs was high. Conclusion: There is a need to develop continuing education programs to increase knowledge and positive attitudes and to apply these programs routinely to maintain and reinforce the nurses' knowledge and attitudes.

Configurations of Knowledge Search in Knowledge-Intensive Industries (지식기반산업에서 기업의 지식탐색 유형: 구성형태적 접근)

  • This research details firm knowledge search types based on the locus and features for Korean firms in the knowledge-based industry, and then analyzes differences in innovation performance according to the types from the view of a configurational approach. Existing research has mainly concentrated on establishing a relation between knowledge search and outcome variables. Consequently, firms have relatively insufficient understanding of how to systematize knowledge search. Hence, this research classifies knowledge search into four dimensions-external search breadth, external search depth, internal search breadth, and internal search depth-by the locus and features of search. Furthermore, the research draws actual types of knowledge search of firms and analyzes differences in innovation performance. The main result of the research is as follows. First, the research reasons out six clusters of firms which have a dissimilar knowledge search type. Each cluster shows differences while participating in every dimension of knowledge search or few dimensions. Second, as for innovation performance, each cluster shows different exploitative and exploratory innovation performance according to their knowledge search type. This research applies a configurational approach while existing research applied a reductionistic approach, thereby establishing the major contribution which enables us to study a phenomenon as it comes, not to analyze variables and relationships of variables. Lastly, the research suggests a future direction of research based on the result of this research.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of KMS(Knowledge Management System) on the performance of KMS by setting the factors affecting KMS 's management performance as knowledge information factor and management factor. And the moderating effect of evaluation and compensation on knowledge information factor, management factor and management performance. As a result of the analysis, it was analyzed that the knowledge information factor set by the knowledge adaptability, the reliability of knowledge information, and knowledge management process affects the definition of management performance. Among the management factors, organizationalization and cooperation factors influence definition Respectively. In the results of verifying whether assessment and compensation play a moderating role, it is found that knowledge compatibility of knowledge information factor, reliability of knowledge information, support of knowledge management process, knowledge sharing activity of management factor, cooperation has played a moderating role in business performance.

The greatest purpose of knowledge management is the through the KM activity, we ensure the gathering, renewal of old knowledge, communication and creation of new knowledge and capitalization of knowledge. and the result of the KM is strengthen the company and preparing the our future and new mission.

The Empirical Study on Relation between R&D Innovation Capability and Performance in Knowledge-Based Service Firms (R&D 혁신역량과 기업성과 간의 관계 연구)

  • Purpose: This empirical study is focused on the relationship between innovation capability (R&D and Human Resource innovation) and performance in knowledge-based service firms. Methods: We build research model to test how each of innovation capability on technology and human resource is influenced on their financial and non-financial performance in the knowledge-based service industries. Based on the previous research, we hypothesized the factors are regarded innovation capabilities of the firms as the scale of R&D and human resources. Because this study is especially targeted to the performance of knowledge-based service firms. With the survey on 424 main knowledge-based service firms, the multi-regression analysis was performed. Results: The result showed that the scale of R&D and human resources capabilities are main factors for knowledge-based service firms' performance, which reflects the current industrial structure. Conclusion: This study empirically demonstrated that human resources are most important to the growth of knowledge-based service firms.
