This study tries to examine the effects of multicultural adolescent's ego-resilience, biculture acceptance, bullying, and parenting attitude on their intention of school dropout. To do this, the subjects(n=1,347) extracted from the 5^th year of the Multicultural Adolescent Panel Survey were analyzed by using hierarchical regression analysis. The founded results are as follows. First, multicultural adolescent's strong ego-resilience, biculture acceptance and positive parenting attitude decreased their intention of school dropout. Second, multicultural adolescent's bullying had no effect on it. Third, negative parenting attitude increased multicultural adolescent's intention of school dropout, playing the most significant role in the change of their intention of school dropout. On the based of findings, the study suggested various the programs to prevent multicultural adolescent's intention of school dropout which can be practiced in the field service.

The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of parent-rearing attitudes on intention of school dropout of multicultural adolescent and the mediating effect of biculture acceptance between two variables. For the purpose, 1,323 subjects selected from the sixth year of the Multicultural Youth Panel (MCAPS) were analyzed. The data was verified by using technical statistics, correlation, and path analysis. The results showed that first, the positive parenting attitude and biculture acceptance decreased the intention of school dropout of multicultural adolescent, while negative parenting attitude increased it. Second, biculture acceptance had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between positive parenting attitude and intention of school dropout. Third, attitude the effect of negative parenting attitudes on intention of school dropout was partly mediated by biculture acceptance. On the basis of above findings, the practical engagements to enhance biculture acceptance and prevent the intention of school dropout of multicultural adolescent were suggested.

This study aimed to examine the effect of bicultural acceptance attitudes in Korean culture and mother's countries, which are sub-factors of multicultural adolescents' bicultural acceptance, on their intention of school dropout through self-esteem. For the analysis, the 1,105 subjects were selected from the 8th(2018) the Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study(MAPS). The data collected were analyzed by various research methods including correlation analysis, regression analysis and sobel test. The main results are as follows. First, bicultural acceptance of multicultural adolescents reduced their intention of school dropout. Second, self-esteem had a partial mediating effect in the causal relationship between multicultural adolescents' bicultural acceptance in Korean culture and intention of school dropout. Third, the effect of bicultural acceptance in mother's countries of multicultural adolescents on intention of school dropout was completely mediated by their self-esteem. On the basis of the findings, practical programs to decrease the intention of school dropout and to enhance self-esteem of multicultural adolescents were suggested.

This study sought to investigate the effect of academic satisfaction on the dropout intention of cosmetology undergraduates. Analyzing the effect of academic satisfaction on career dropouts showed that the sub-factors of academic satisfaction-evaluation satisfaction, class satisfaction had a statistically significant part effect. Analyzing the effect of academic satisfaction on psychological factors for dropping out showed that the sub-factors of academic satisfaction have a statistically significant effect. Furthermore, regarding the effect of academic satisfaction on environmental factors, the sub-factors of academic satisfaction have a statistically significant effect on wealth. High satisfaction was shown to have no statistically significant effect on dropout intention. The results of the study showed that the higher the degree of satisfaction with the evaluation and the degree of satisfaction with the course of beauty majors, the more negative (-) the impact on dropout. For cosmetology majors, academic satisfaction is a subjective emotion felt through study at university and major. Students with high academic satisfaction are more likely to love their school and their work, and positively influence their intention to stay in school and reduce student dropout rates. Intention to drop out indicates the intention to lose interest and purpose in cosmetology college students. This is directly linked to the dropout rate of school students and requires steady research. Through this research, we hope that active discussions will be held on academic satisfaction and intention to drop out of university students specializing in cosmetology.

This study was carried out to understand the influence of dental technicians' image and major satisfaction on dental technology students' dropout intention. A questionnaire survey was administered to 273 students in the Department of Dental Technology. Frequency analysis, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were performed. The results are as follows: The image of dental technicians differed significantly depending on factors such as school year, personality, whether a family member is a dental technician or not, reason for choosing a department, difficulty in one's own academic life, and disciplinary life adaptation (p<0.05). The image of dental technicians was seen to be positively perceived when the respondent had an affirmative personality, or had a dental technician among family members or chose the department for its uniqueness, or found no difficulty in academic life, and adapted well to a situational or environmental change. Major satisfaction of dental technicians was seen a meaningful difference in items such as school year, personality, awareness of dental technicians, reason for choosing a department, the difficulty in own academic life, and the disciplinary life adaptation (p<0.05). Individuals with high major satisfaction and low dropout intention included those with a positive personality, who think affirmatively about dental technicians, who chose a department owing to suiting the aptitude and interest or to the uniqueness of the major. The influential factors on dropout intention included general satisfaction out of major satisfaction, perspective and self-confident image among dental technicians, and an awareness of dental technicians. The establishment of a desirable image of dental technicians and the improvement in major satisfaction are considered likely to contribute to reducing the dropout intention of dental technology students.

Recently, due to a decrease in the school age population, it is expected that there will be great difficulties in recruiting students. The dropout rate for the last three years of four-year universities nationwide announced in www.academyinfo.go.kr has been continuously increasing at 4.1% (2016), 4.3% (2017), and 4.6% (2018). It has emerged as the biggest issue facing the university. In this study, through a large-scale empirical study at H University, an analysis of the dropout intention of college students and educational factors affecting their intentions were derived. First, as a result of analyzing the intention to drop out, the dropout intention of students in the engineering department was higher than in the humanities, and it was higher in the upper grades. Students from specialized high schools were higher than general high schools, and the students who raised the tuition fees were higher than those who were not. As a result of factor analysis on dropout intention, it was analyzed that class difficulty, major satisfaction, parent satisfaction, internationalization satisfaction, and college education performance satisfaction had a significant effect on dropout intention.

This study aims to verify the effect of mother's career-related behavior on the intention of multicultural youths to school dropout intention and the mediating effect of academic adaptation. To this end, 1,121 middle school seniors were sampled in the 7th (2017) data of the Multicultural Youth Panel Survey, and the influence relationship of the model presented as a three-step method of analysis of the mediated effects of Baron & Kenny and the Sobel test were conducted. First, the analysis showed that mother's support, a subfactor of mother's career-related behavior, had a negative effect on dropout intention, and that mother's interference had a positive effect. Second, academi adaptation has been shown to have a negative effect on dropout intention. Third, mother's support, a subfactor of mother's career-related behavior, showed a positive influence on academi adaptation, and mother's interference showed a negative effect. Fourth, academi adaptation has been shown to be mediated in the relationship between career-related behavior and dropout intention. Based on the above results, practical implications were presented.

The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between social support, academic self-efficacy, and learning agility on intention of academic dropout among nursing students. Data collection was conducted online surveys from November 9 to 27, 2020. The 363 students were conveniently sampled from the school of nursing in K-do in Korea. The contents of the self-reported questionnaire included social support, academic self-efficacy, learning agility, intention of academic dropout. As a result, The score of each variables were like this: social support 4.32, academic self-efficacy 3.66, learning agility 3.40, intention of academic dropout 2.08. The factors that affecting intention of academic dropout among nursing students are academic self-efficacy, learning agility, satisfaction on major, perceived mental health status, grade in score and grade, which explained 30.4% of the variances. Therefore in order to lower the intention of dropping out of nursing students, it is considered that the development of programs considering individual characteristics and systematic support are necessary.

The purpose of this study is to identify the factors which influence dropout intention of college freshmen. For this purpose, the freshmen were collected from A University in Gyeonggi Province from October 16 to 30, 2017. We analyzed 1,369 data in terms of the individual, family, educational institution, and social factors using t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression. The major findings of the study are as follows. First, individual factors which influence dropout intention of freshmen are overall university satisfaction, the degree to which they think their majors fit them, the degree to which they are willing to recommend their department to others, a plan to dropout, and a plan to take a leave of absence. Second, the family factors are the encouragement of parents and family to do well in college. Third, educational institution factors are satisfaction with the curriculum of majors, a sense of belonging to department, the degree to which the professors instill career vision and self-esteem, and satisfaction with college facilities. Fourth, social factors are the degree they think going to college was a good choice in their life and the degree they think knowledge learned in college is helpful to them. Based on the results, the study suggested what to be considered at professors, school personnel, and university level and discussed how to reduce dropout rate of freshmen in university.

The sample size in a clinical trial is determined by the hypothesis, the variance of observations, the effect size, the power and the significance level. Dropouts in clinical trials are inevitable, so we need to consider dropouts on the determination of sample size. It is common that some proportion corresponding to the expected dropout rate would be added to the sample size calculated from a mathematical equation. This paper proposes new equations for calculating sample size dealing with dropouts. Since we observe data longitudinally in most clinical trials, we can use a last observation to impute for missing one in the intention to treat (ITT) trials, and this technique is called last observation carried forward(LOCF). But LOCF might make deviations on the assumed variance and effect size, so that we could not guarantee the power of test with the sample size obtained from the existing equation. This study suggests the formulas for sample size involving information about dropouts and shows the properties of the proposed method in testing equality of means.
