  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a design guideline for the domestic campus master plan. The main contents of this study are as follows ; 1) Study for the characteristics and components of the comprehensive campus master plan. 2) Case study on the domestic campus plan 3) Establishment of methods for campus master plan focused on the space programming, land use planning, circulation planning, and building layout planning.

뉴욕시 공립학교에 나타난 배치 특성에 관한 연구 - 맨하튼 가로체계와 외부공간의 관계를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Layout Patterns of Public Schools in Manhattan - Focused on Relationship between Manhattan Grid Plan and Open Space -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze patterns of public school building layout types, open space and relationship with communities in the Manhattan grid plan. The study illustrates how building layout patterns of school facilities are influenced by societal demands in the urban grid environment. During the nineteenth century, the Island of Manhattan was transformed into a physical representation of the Cartesian coordinate system via the development of the grid street plan. In order to take advantage of streets as urban space, it is quite important to understand characteristics of communities and open space relationships between buildings and streets. Moreover, the strategic planning of schools' outdoor space vitalizes public streets as a critical community anchor. This research reviews 118 Manhattan public schools and categorizes them by (1) building layout type, (2) site type, (3) circulation and public open space, which are the biggest factors that determine the layout patterns of the public schools in Manhattan. As a result of analysis, the layout patterns are classified into seven types : "ㅡ", "L", "ㄷ", "ㅁ", "H", "T" and "other" type. Of these, "ㅡ" type and "L" type occur most frequently, because these configurations most flexibly fit into the limited grid-locked blocks, the various types of site & topography, and adapt most dynamically to the open spaces created by using avenues and streets. The ultimate objective of this study is to provide a case study for future efforts to plan open spaces for campuses that effectively utilize the streets in proximity.

Interior Partitioned Layout and Daylighting Energy Performance in Office Buildings

  • In this age of "Information", many people consider it a deterrent to information flow to provide a hierarchy with private rooms in a modern office layout. There are others, however, who insist that visual and acoustical privacy are more important than any other design factor in achieving higher productivity. The debate may never end, but the partitioned open plan, which is a new form of the vast open plan, has merits of each concept - open and closed layout. Consequently, office design has dramatically shifted to partitioned open planning, with shorter, temporary walls or partitions, originally intended for increasing privacy and diminishing hierarchy, yet still keeping flexibility in spatial organization. The introduction of low-level partitioned spaces in an office layout, however, produces a complicated lighting design problem. Obviously, accurately predicted daylighting performance data are needed not only for daylighting design but for artificial lighting system design. Scale models of 12 sets of unit partitioned spaces are constructed and extensive scale model measurements of both daylight and reflected sunlight have been performed within an artificial sky simulator. The prototype-building interior is modeled with different partition configurations, each of which is modeled using the different envelope geometry and exterior configurations, and then the variations in interior light levels are estimated. The result indicates that partitioned spaces employed in an open plan of modern offices still offer a large potential for daylighting and energy saving as well. Much of the savings may derive from the cumulative effect of reflected sunlight. Optimal design for building envelope geometry and exterior configuration promises additional savings.

거주자 가구배치 선호경향을 고려한 실 유형별 붙박이장 위치선정 (Determination of closet position by room style based on movable furniture layout preference of residents)

  • Korean traditionally prefer a house with a southern exposure to other styles. Moreover, pretty part of dwelling style in Korea is apartment building. But generally, there are much more north oriented rooms than opposite one in apartment. Generally, most Korean tends to consider the direction of the room as an important factor to decide the arrangement of their furniture. Also, the location of window, door, bed, and closet can affect on the decision-making process of furniture layout. So, the closet position should be determined by not only window direction and door position, but also the furniture arrangement preference of residents. After considering the window and door position, there are 16 alternatives in a room. (Multiplied 4 window directions by 4 door positions under the assumption that the window and the door cannot be on the same side of the wall.) Also, this study analyzed each room style ratio considering the symmetry of each plan by comparing the apartment building plan. This paper studied the bedroom style by analyzing the 180 apartment building plans and survey of furniture layout; the furniture in this study represents bed and desk those are mainly laid in Korean bedroom. Finally, this paper suggested the methodology to find optimal alternatives of furniture and closet layout for high-rise apartment residents, based on the door and window position, and the furniture layout preference of residents.

  • The purpose of this study is to develope evaluating indicators for housing plan on slope-site. At first, housing plan elements were derived from existing studies, and then, the importance of elements were evaluated by expert group. AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) was used to calculate the weight of housing plan elements on slope-site. The results are as follows: 'building layout' is relatively important, and followed important elements are selected as 'pedestrian circulation' and 'parking plan', and then, detail elements for building layout, 'daylight', 'view', 'privacy' and 'using level' are all relatively important.

  • 액체로켓엔진 연소기의 연소시험을 수행하기 위한 가압식 시험설비의 배치 계획과 시험동내 위치하는 주요 실별 용도를 제시하였다. 본 논문에서 제시된 기반시설의 배치도는 자연 지형을 최대한 활용하고, 비행 모델의 초기 자세를 모사할 수 있도록 수직형 시험설비를 계획함에 따라 결정되었다.

제주도 읍·면지역 고등학교의 평면구성에 따른 영역별 특성 및 배치유형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Area Characteristics and Layout Types of the Floor Plan of High School Facilities in Eup and Myeon Districts of Jeju Island)

  • A reduction in the number of high school students in Eup and Myeon districts is very severe. This issue leads to the problem with educational programs of school and an academic achievement gap. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of areas and layout types of the floor plan of high school facilities in Eup and Myeon districts of Jeju Island where the number of students reduces and to provide a fundamental material for establishing school environments. The floor plan of school facilities was categorized into learning, support, common, and other areas and the characteristics of each area were analyzed. As a result, it was necessary to make spatial and facility improvements in common area and support area. The layout type of each area was classified into centralized type, distributed type, and mixed type, and then each type was analyzed. As a result, the main building had low points of the floor plan for learning area and common area. In order to respond to the number of students, it is required to establish reasonable spatial plan criteria and guidelines under the supervision of Office of Education and furthermore to make an effort to create futuristic educational facilities.

공동주택의 배치 및 블록별 재생에너지 시스템의 적용성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application Strategies of Renewable Energy Systems Considering Layout and Block Plan in Apartment Building)

  • This study aims to presents the applicability of apartment building for renewable energy systems using method of uncomplicated calculation and computer simulation. According to the weather conditions (NASA Surface meteorology and Solar Energy) analysis, it has been found that photovoltaic and wind power system can be applied to apartment buildings application. In case study considering layout and block plan, adaptation of solar water heating, photovoltaic and wind energy system to apartment buildings was proved to produce a profit. And the application strategies of renewable energy systems can be used not only for the investment decisions for economic analysis but also for the comparative analysis of uncomplicated calculation and computer simulation.

  • Rebar work takes up big proportion in a construction work. The current process of purchasing, cutting and election, and working of rebar induces a lot of loss in rebar. This study is focused on analyzing the problem and the present condition of the process from the calculating of rebar quantifies to the actual constructional stage through surveying those who have experience in the estimation department, or the construction site of a domestic construction company. Many reform measures such as diversification of standard(i.e., 8-meter)bar, calculation of rebar quantities and construction according to the rebar election drawing, expansion of accuracy in layout plan, thoroughness in examination of layout plan in advance, utilization of the worked material, systemization of rebar control(management), and a shift in attitude of the field(site) manager were proposed as the result of the survey.

군산의 근대도시발달과정과 도시조직의 변화 유형에 관한 형태학적 연구 (A Morphological Study on the Modern Urbanization and Transformation Type of Urban Tissues in Kunsan)

  • The purpose of this thesis is to analyse modem urbanization process and the morphological transformation of the urban tissues in Kunsan between the you 1899 and 2001, The method of this study is to investigate the transformation process of morphological elements such as plot structure, building layout, building facades, land use, exterior space structure and their use, with actual field surveys, the analysis of land registration maps in 1912, and various topological map. Morphological analysis on modern Kunsan is progressed by three steps-typo-morphological analysis of urban tissue in old-town area, interpretation of morphological process, and transformation process, of morphological structure in Japanese concession in view of plots system. As a result, it is found that there is cyclical relationship among the morphological transformation processes of morphological elements, plots, buildings, land-uses, and access space to buildings. From the view of town plan change, the period of restoration of war damage in 1950s and compressive growing period in 1960s have important meaning in the morphological process of old-town area. Particularly the first building plan and layout type together with plot form and structure is acted as the main factor to decide the subsequent plot transformation system, exterior space system and the particular streetscape in Kunsan.
