  • The purpose of this study is to examine an influence of university students' major satisfaction on career preparation behavior and the mediating effect of openness to diversity. The survey questionnaire was distributed to 182 university students and SPSS 23.0, AMOS 23.0 program was used for statistical analysis of the data. The results of this study are as follows: First, major satisfaction has a positive effect on openness to diversity and career preparation behavior. Second, openness to diversity has a positive effect on career preparation behavior. Third, openness to diversity has a partiall mediating effect between major satisfaction and career preparation behavior. These results show that the more students enhance their major satisfaction and openness to diversity, the more students enhance their career preparation behavior.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of self-esteem on the safety culture and safety behavior of airline pilots and to confirm whether job satisfaction has a mediating effect in these relationships. It was examined whether self-esteem directly affects safety culture and safety behavior, and indirectly through job satisfaction. As a result of the study, self-esteem did not have a direct significant effect on safety culture, but indirectly had a positive effect through job satisfaction. In addition, self-esteem had a direct significant positive effect on safety behavior, and job satisfaction partially mediated this relationship. This suggests that pilots with higher self-esteem practice safety behavior more actively, and job satisfaction can promote such behavior. These results show the importance of organizational support such as programs and support for enhancing pilots' self-esteem, fair compensation for improving job satisfaction, improving working environment, and providing career development opportunities in airlines, and are intended to be used as basic data for this.

  • National aircraft are subject to exceptions under the International Civil Aviation Convention. Each country must ensure the safety of civil aircraft through reasonable consideration (due regard). Accordingly, the Aviation Safety Act of Korea also includes an exception for national aircraft. However, Korea Coast Guard aircraft are legislated to be subject to the law on five provisions. As Korea Coast Guard aircraft operate under the application of these provisions of international and domestic laws, they will be required to control flight procedures from China's civil air traffic control when flying over provisional action zone, which is international waters in the West Sea. China's demand is a major limiting factor in protecting the safety of the people of Korea, which is the original mission of Korea Coast Guard aircraft, and through this study, countermeasures to solving these problems at the national level were suggested.

  • As the global air traffic volume has shown a rapid increase, doubling every 15 years since 1977, domestic and international air traffic control services and air navigation safety facility operation management system and status review It is necessary to present the feasibility of establishing an air traffic control agency with integrated functions and establish an operating system for an independent dedicated agency to provide advanced air traffic control services in preparation for the future air transport environment. In particular, in 2021, the national ATM reformation and enhancement (NARAE) a customized comprehensive plan for operations, facilities, and systems to handle air traffic safely and efficiently by actively reflecting changes in the navigation environment such as international policies and standards as this is established, the role of the air traffic control agency becomes more important, and an improved action plan for the control and navigation operating system must be promoted.

  • The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport duplicated a section of ATS Route Y579 connecting Jeju and Busan in 2022 to enhance aviation safety and operational efficiency. Before duplication, an offset procedure was applied to separate aircraft flying in opposite direction by deviating them to the right of their intended flight paths. However, on December 1, 2022, this offset procedure was abolished and replaced with two parallel route, Y571(towards Busan) and Y572(towards Jeju), to improve safety and efficiency. The duplication of ATS Routes has significant implications in various aspects. This study analyzes the safety of the newly established ATS Routes and compares their safety with the previously applied offset procedure to evaluate the effectiveness of the duplication. Additionally, it presents the significance from the perspective of airspace operation. A safety assessment has conducted using a modified version of the Reich CRM (collision risk model). The analysis results confirms that the level of safety improves after the duplication and that there were benefits in terms of airspace utilization.

  • In this study aviation authority officials were classified into four cultural groups according to culture theory, and then questioned to determine the effects of cultural bias on their social acceptance of a new air traffic flow management system. Based on previous studies, cultural biases were categorized as egalitarianistic, individualistic, fatalistic, and hierarchical, and social acceptances were considered to be influenced by four variables, that is, perceptions of usefulness, work attitude, intention to use, and behavior (job absorption). Empirical analysis showed that hierarchy had a significant positive effect on social acceptance, and egalitarianism was found to have a significant positive effect on social acceptance with 95% credibility. We propose the organizational culture of Korean government be changed to accept the diverse opinions of government officials during the implementation phase of the new system recommended by ICAO.

  • A flight simulator is a device that allows pilots attain proficiency of various situations and a sense of flight, and as interest in scientific training increases in modern aviation, aviation training organization develop and operate simulators. Therefore, in this study, the process of developing a motion-based helicopter simulation Training Device using a commercial program. Citing previous studies, the specificity of helicopter flight education and the positive effect of motion simulators were confirmed. In addition, the design and program of the motion device were studied in the process of checking the configuration and current regulations of flight simulation training devices and developing a helicopter motion simulator. A motion program was set based on the system design and structural design of the flight simulator, and data received from the flight simulator was identified to confirm the expected operating shape. Through this study, we intend to create a positive expected effect on pilot training by completing a motion-based helicopter simulator.

  • In the field of civil aviation in Korea, inappropriate crew resources management(CRM) constantly occurs between captains and first officers during flight. Therefore, the active role of first officers is emphasized in pilot training for CRM, threat & error management(TEM), safety management system(SMS), fatigue risk management system(FRMS), and training in simulators. Thus, it is urgent for captains to change their transformational leadership to emotional leadership, advantages of which include horizontal interpersonal relationship, open-mindedness, leading by example, considerateness, mutual respect, and using informal language. For the direction to improve 'the cockpit culture' in civil aviation, the key idea of the current thesis paper is the influence of captains' transformational and emotional leadership on the emotions of first officers.

  • The purpose of this study verify to influence the effect of the 4th industrial revolution recognized by airport operators on the airport management system and the moderator effects of convergence and leadership between these influence relationships. Data collected through a survey of airport operators using simple random sampling at six international airports in Korea. Data analysis performed using Structural Equation Modeling. The research results found that the 4th industrial revolution had a positive effect on the airport management system. Also, moderator effects of convergence and leadership found significant statistically. In this paper, we asserts that it should be reconstructed the airport management system as a system suitable for the era of the 4th industrial revolution. This paper provide theoretical data and directions for empirical research to airport researchers, and implications for airport enterprise managers and airport policy planners. The findings of this study are particularly helpful for international airports that have adopted the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
