Evaluation of Airline Service Education Using the CIPP Model -focus on factors which influenced satisfaction and recommendation of the training program- (CIPP모형을 활용한 항공서비스교육 평가 -만족도 및 재추천에 미치는 요인을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate an airline service training program based on the CIPP model. Evaluation areas were divided into context, input, process, and product. We analyzed the factors which influenced program satisfaction and recommendation of the training program. Two hundred and one learners who participated in an airline service training program were selected for a survey. The results of this study are as follows. The factors which positively influenced training satisfaction were educational goals in context evaluation, interaction between learners and instructors, managing programs in process evaluation, and training performance in product evaluation. The factor which negatively influenced training satisfaction was human resources in input evaluation. On the other hand, the factors which positively influenced training recommendation were educational goal, assessing needs in context evaluation, interaction between learners and instructors, supporting programs in process evaluation, and training performance in product evaluation. The factor which negatively influenced training recommendation was assessing needs in context evaluation. The results of this study are expected to make an important contribution to the development of service training programs in airlines.

  • 본 연구는 객실승무원 교육훈련 만족이 자기효능감 및 서비스태도(서비스 몰입, 서비스 지향의 자발적 행동)에 어떻게 작용하는지 실증적으로 분석하여 바람직한 객실승무원 교육훈련의 방향을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해서 비행근무 중인 국내 K항공사 객실승무원 210명을 대상으로 자기 보고식 설문지를 배포하여 유효한 설문지 208부를 대상으로 기초 통계 조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교육훈련 내용(용모 및 태도 관련 내용, 서비스자세 관련 내용, 대처요령 관련 내용)은 교육만족에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 객실승무원 훈련담당강사는 교육만족에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 객실승무원 교육시스템은 교육만족에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 객실승무원 교육만족은 자기효능감에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 객실승무원 교육만족은 서비스몰입에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 객실승무원 교육만족은 서비스지향의 자발적 행동에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Service training influences on students' attitude, working behavior, and the improvement of service performance skill. To raise self-efficacy and service orientation of students, it is necessary to create and maintain a motivating environment. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, related theories are researched and analyzed through theoretical consideration and in order to understand the relationship between them, questionnaires about service training, self-efficacy and service orientation of students were prepared. The statistics analysis of the collected materials was made by use of the SPSS-WINDOWS 12.0 and AMOS 5.0 statistics package. When it comes to the summary of the results through the empirical analysis of this study, it is as follows: First, the service training have been positively effective to the students' self-efficacy. Second, the service training has been positively effective to the students' service orientation. Third, the students' self-efficacy has been positively effective to the service outcome orientation and service process one.

  • This study analyzes the academic achievement of students how much they are related to both NCS(national competency standards)-based education from university and the learning motives(internal motive, external motive) of the students based on current university students. For this study, a survey was conducted among 200 employees and are summarized as follow. First, that both internal and external motives to study were significant to have a good effect on academic achievement of students. Second, NCS-based education to have positive effect on academic achievement.

  • This study is an example of the registration of intellectual property rights by applying capstone design to airline service. To relieve the inconvenience of the 'Paper Cage' that is on sale in the airlines, the team create 'Foldable Inflight Pet Cage' for the convenience of passengers accompanying their pets. This allowed not only pets but also passengers on board to make comfortable and safe air travel. Through collaboration with aviation experts and pet cages production experts, the team produced foldable cages that were not previously available. For verification of products, preliminary survey was conducted to enable the commercialization of foldable cage. The project period was 15 weeks, and the participants consisted of 18 students, 1 professor, and 4 industry experts. This study shows Capstone Design can also be applied in airline service and be a valuable research on the necessity of industry-academic links and practical-oriented education.

  • Recently, Universities's idea of employment are activity discussed. Especially, Service oriented departments' argument about the curriculum and the environment tests its accomplishment with value in employment. Therefore, this study has been done on the department of airline service which has representation of employment. This study determines the condition and the position of the department of airline services that it estimates the future service orientation in organizations placing education. It appeared that self-esteem affected Physical environment, and service effect quality as a company's loyalty. Accordingly, to improve self-esteem working staff in service should be improved. And other various measures education service quality, self-esteem, and company's loyalty should be taken as well.

  • This study examines the awareness of the curriculum of the cabin service major students at 2 year colleges through the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model and an empirical analysis on how their awareness affects Service Orientation and Service Hospitality. It was proven that the CIPP evaluation model has a positive effect on the satisfaction of their department, and also has a meaningful effect on Service Hospitality and Service Orientation statistically. However, the satisfaction of their department itself is not associated with the increase of Service Orientation and Service Hospitality so it negatively affected them. Moreover, both the Service Management program(Process) and Service Attitude(Product) have a meaningful effect on Service Hospitality, and Service Hospitality also has a meaningful effect on Service Orientation. So it resulted in a casual relationship among them. As a result, it is desperately necessary to promote an educational environment that will increase the satisfaction of the department and help students to become flight attendants. It is also necessary to increase awareness of the Service Management program(Process) and Service Attitude(Product).

A Study on the Safety Culture Index Measurement of Pilot Training School (조종사양성 교육기관의 안전문화지수 측정에 관한 연구)

  • 조직의 안전문화가 사고의 원인이 될 수 있다는 것이 알려지면서 안전문화의 개선과 정착의 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 우리나라는 항공법 제49조에 지정전문교육기관은 자체 안전관리시스템을 운영하도록 규정하고 있으며 관련 규정에는 조직의 안전문화를 조사하여 상태를 파악하고 발견된 문제점을 개선할 것을 권고하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 교통안전공단에서 개발한 축약형 CASS Scale을 사용하여 조종사양성 교육기관의 안전문화지수를 측정하였다. 측정결과 안전문화 평균치는 3.711로 나타났으며 하위지표의 측정결과는 직원 권한위임에 대한 평균값이 3.980으로 가장 높게 나타났고, 상벌체계에 대한 평균값이 3.309로 가장 낮게 나타났다. 서비스제공자는 이러한 측정 결과에 근거하여, 취약부분에 대한 개입전략을 수립, 적용함으로써 조직문화 향상에 도움을 줄 것으로 사료된다.

A Study on Improving Safety Management System's Operation of the Approved (Flight) Training Organizations Operated by Universities (대학기관 비행교육원의 효율적인 항공안전시스템(SMS) 운영을 위한 개선 연구)

  • The main purpose of this study is to improve the efficiency of the manual for the aviation safety management system of the Approved(flight) Training Organization(ATO) in Korean university institutions. To achieve such purpose, universities' aviation Safety Management System(SMS) manuals were reviewed and compared. Based on the review, the first survey for aviation experts was performed to evaluate the importance of the items. A second survey focused to analyze the importance of items with high importance, which were derived from the first survey. Through Delphi analysis, the high, low important items and non-essential items were selected. Following the Delphi analysis results, frequency analysis, t-test, bivariate correlation analysis, and exploratory factor analysis were conducted. As a result of the study, the high and low importance items were identified from the manual for the aviation safety management system of the Approved Training Organization Korean university institutions.

Effect of Image Making Education on Self-Esteem and Education Satisfaction (이미지메이킹 교육이 자아존중감과 교육만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship among image making education, self-esteem and education satisfaction using airline service department in the university. In this study, 2 hypotheses based on literature reviews were employed. Questionnaire was also developed based on previous studies. A convenience sample of 240 students was surveyed and 218 usable questionnaires were analyzed. According to the exploratory factor analysis, image making education was divided into 'external image education', 'basic character education' and 'manner education'. Self-esteem, on the other hand, was categorized into the following variables: 'sense of value' and 'esteem' accordingly. Then the data and hypotheses were examined using structural equation modeling (SEM) by AMOS. The results are as follows. Firstly, 'external image' and 'manner education' have positive effect on 'sense of value' while manner education has effect on 'esteem'. Secondly, 'sense of value' and 'esteem' factor have positive effects on education satisfaction. Hence continuous and systematic education should be conducted to administer 'image making curriculum'. Self-esteem should also be taught in schools to encourage student's satisfaction on education. The contribution and limitations of this research were discussed and the future possible researches were mentioned.
