The aims of this study was to verify the validity using group comparison method and test/retest reliability of the Communication Behavior Scale for Nurses Caring for People with Dementia(CBS-D). The subjects were nurses who have worked at elderly care facilities in D, U and Y cities(n = 67), and nurses who have worked at general hospitals in D and U cities. The scores of the communication behaviors of nurses working in elderly care facilities were significantly higher than those of nurses working in general hospitals(t=2.49, p=.014). The Intraclass Correlation Coefficients for the test-retest reliability test was .813. Therefore, it was confirmed that CBS-D is an appropriate evaluation tool for evaluating the level of the nurse's communication behavior through various logical analyzes, and it is expected that it can be used in various ways for nursing care for people with dementia.

The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of compassion competence on communication behavior of long-term care hospital nurses caring for patients with cognitive impairment and the mediating effect of resilience in the process. The data collection period was from September 27, 2021 to October 22, 2021, and the subjects were 131 long-term care hospital nurses in P city. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 25.0 program, and descriptive statistics, pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression were performed. As a result of the study, first, it was found that there was a significant positive correlation between compassion competence and communication behavior(r=.625, p<.001), resilience and communication behavior(r=.535, p<.001). Second, resilience was verified as a partial mediating in the relationship between compassion competence and communication behavior(Z=2.012, p=.042). Therefore, in order to improve the communication behavior of nurses, it is suggested to develop and apply a program that can enhance compassion competence and resilience.

The objectives of this study were to discuss policy for university restructuring from the viewpoint of Habermas' theory of communicative action in Covergence Society, and to provide implications for university restructuring policy in Korea. This study was conducted as a literature review, it discussed the university restructuring policy in Korea, the meaning of Habermas' theory of communicative action, and its implications for university restructuring policy. The main concept of Habermas' theory of communicative action is mutual understanding, and the theory perceives society as systems and lifeworld. Lifeworld pursues communicative rationality. University restructuring in Korea should be promoted through communication between the government and university members rather than through the forced distribution of money by state power.

Non-verbal communications are important because they support and replace verbal communication. Body language of various non-verbal communications is the communication using the body. In animation, expression of body language is very important because characters play an important role in communicating the scenario. Animation has a dual communication structure, different from general communication. One is the communication between the speaker character and the hearer character, the other is the image and the audience, which includes the communication between the speaker character and the hearer character. In this study, we divide the body language from the characters into the discourse-in act and discourse-out act according to this dual structure and classify it into adaptors, emblem, illustrator, regulator, affect display by a functional approach method. Especially, the illustrator is subdivided into pragmatic speech act. Finally, this study analyzes the features of body language in animation and represents animation character's body language for an effective expression of the communications in animation.

This study was performed to utilize for foundation data of research related nursing communication and developing nursing intervention by examining the relationship between nurses' perception of the elderly and communication. This study is a descriptive research using a set of questionnaires that examines the relationship between nurses who provide care to the elderly by confirming their perception of the elderly, communication difficulties with the elderly, communication behavior, and satisfaction with communication. After IRB approval, data were collected either face-to-face survey or by online survey. A total of 292 nurses participated in this study. The collected data were analyzed as descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA, Duncan test and Pearson's Correlation Coefficients, Multiple Regression Analysis by using SPSS/WIN 26 program. As a result, a significant correlation was identified between perception of the elderly and communication disorders, communication behavior, and communication satisfaction. We found that nurses who had more positive perceptions about the elderly had less communication disorders, better communication behaviors, and higher communication satisfaction with the elderly. From this result, we suggest that nurses caring for the elderly should receive education on communication methods with elderly to improve their perception. Furthermore, we suggest future studies to improve nurse's perception of the elderly and communication.

The main purpose of this study is to examine the implications of Habermas's Critical Theory, which has been considered as modern descendant of enlightenment thought, on the social work profession. The focus of this paper is a critical examination on expected perceptual and practical gain provided by communicative theory for the professional relations between social workers and clients. This paper proves that Habermas's theory has failed to sufficiently grasp the scope and functions of social work practice. First, in regard to perceptual gains, Habermas's theory commits some kind of reductionism which considers communicative behaviors as only and original one. It is likely to limit the scope and extent of the function and mission of social work into a kind of communication performed by humans with communicative ability. Second, in regard of practical gains, Habermas's theory does not provide detail procedure of power-free communication nor critical criteria to evaluate the degree of ideal speech situation. Without these ones, Habermas's critical theory might play a role of liberal conservatism, which is trying to replace the substantial contents with procedural formality. In sum, to be a adequate theoretical and practical framework for social work, Habermas's theory needs to combine additional humanitarian considerations into communicative paradigm with more detail requirements and preconditions for ideal speech situations between professional and clients.

This study is a descriptive research to understand the leadership, communication ability, peer care behavior and relationship of nursing students. Data were collected from 192 nursing students in November 2021. The data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation ciefficients, using SPSS 28.0. As a result of the study, revealed positive correlations between leaderships and communication competence(r=.634, p<.001), communication competence and peer group caring interaction(r=.390, p<.001), leaderships and peer group caring interaction(r=.285, p<.001). Therefore, it is necessary to develop educational environment and programs to improve leadership, communication ability, and peer care behavior of nursing college students in the future.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of nurse's compassionate competence and burnout on their communication behavior with dementia patients. The subjects of this study were 190 nurses who were taking care of patients with dementia at long-term care hospitals and who agreed with the survey. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, and multiple regression. The communication behavior of nurses caring for dementia patients was found to have a significant correlation with compassionate competence and burnout. Multiple regression analysis showed that nurses' compassionate competence and burnout affected communication behavior, and the total explanatory power was 31%. It is suggested that the results of this study can be used as basic data for developing programs to improve communication behavior with patients with dementia.

This study is a one group pretest-posttest design study to confirm the effect of geriatric nursing practice on elderly care attitude and dementia communication behavior of student nurses. The study was conducted from September to December, 2018. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires of 59 student nurses. The data were analyzed by frequencies and paired t-test using SPSS 21.0 program. As a result, elderly care attitude and dementia communication behavior were significantly increased after the geriatric nursing practice compaired to before the geriatric nursing practice. The results of this study can be used as basic data for the composition of the practice curriculum for student nurses to improve their competence as nurses in the future.

The purpose of this study is to compose direction about mUC as a communication channel in the company. Recently, many companies have started to adopt or try to vitalize the use of mUC. This study starts from the viewpoint of communication which is the original purpose of SNS or mUC. The purpose and function of life-world are drawn based on Habermas' theory of communicative action. Firstly, this study will check on a difference in usage over the action and articulation between SNS and mUC. Secondly, this study will examine a difference of effect of life-world between SNS and mUC. Thirdly, to check that there is difference according to the user characteristics. The result is that there are differences about action and articulation but little differences of effect to the life-world between SNS and mUC. Also, there is difference according to the user characteristics. This study could contribute to compose direction when a company adopts or vitalizes mUC.
