The object of this study is to suggest the direction of building the defence logistics system of Korea Armed Forces in the future. For the purpose of this, we surveyed the best practices among the enterprises and U.S. Defence which reformed successfully the physical distribution and logistic in recent year. Also, we analyzed our current logistics system and suggested the vision, operational concept, and the way of building this system. This system is expected to reduce the total logistics cost, speed up the logistics velocity and increase the efficiency of the combat support.

Recently, To define an enterprise's survival strategy is a difficult task, because the competition of a business is a complexity. The reason is the original research uses a statistical survey method. On a conceptual point of SCM, - as an order of development, physical distribution, logistics management, basic supply chain management and advanced supply chain management etc - a supervisor is magnifying gradually as well as confusing with information and analysis techniques which seems possible. On executing this, however, it has many problems since it is hard and wide; therefore, The Manager don't aware a total executable solution even though the enterprise knows necessity of SCM. On this paper focus on a proposal of alternatives with reasonableness of manufacturing and making a profit of sales department like most of enterprises are willing to overcome such as carelessness and unready strategy of investment additionally, the thesis should effort to find an element through an analysis of cases, a statistical method of effective SCM, and actual survey to propose an alternative; moreover, this paper proved the facts that it could be a guiding company, which has an ability of cooperation with entities through the founding of supply chain. As a conclusion, this essay showed the variation that influences the capacity entities and alternative to define an element which basically influence for a cause and effect.

This study focuses primarily on the construction of the wartime sealift operation model from US to Korea. There are some uncertainties in the process of sealift operation such as the procurement rate of materiel in US, the distribution of KFS on four initial position locations at the start of the activation, and the number of ports and berths in the SPOES and SPODS. The sealift capability, based on the allocation of sealift assets such as the number of vessels, berths, and ports, is evaluated through simulation. The simulation is executed with a baseline wartime scenario and then the results are analyzed through a sensitivity analysis. The military planner may use of this model as a standard for establishing effective and concrete sealift operation plan in the near future.

Instead of using signal-to-noise ratio, we attempt to optimize both the mean and variance responses using dual response optimization technique. The alternative experimental strategy analyzes a robust parameter design problem to obtain the best settings that give a target condition on the mean while minimizing its variance. The mean and variance are treated as the two responses of interest to be optimized. Unlike to the crossed array and combined array approaches, our experimental setup requires replicated runs for each control factor's treatment under noise sampling. When the postulated response models are true, they enable the coefficients to be estimated and the desired performance measure to be analyzed more efficiently. The procedure and illustrative example are given for the dual response optimization techniques of nonlinear goal programming.

In this paper, we consider a rule of application of PRICE(Parametric Review of Information for Costing and Evaluation) model to the environment of Korean defense industry. The PRICE model which is a computer model to estimate the cost of an acquisition program, was developed for the regulation of defense acquisition program in the United States. Therefore, it is essential for us to figure out how we can adopt it under our defense acquisition regulations. We will give an alternative method to apply the PRICE model to the mapping problem between two regulations.

The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is well suited to group decision making and offers numerous benefits as a synthesizing mechanism in group decisions. To date, the majority of AHP applications have been in group settings. One reason for this may be that groups often have an advantage over individual when there exists a significant difference between the importance of quality in the decision and the importance of time in which to obtain the decision. Another reason may be the best alternative is selected by comparing alternative solutions, testing against selected criteria, a task ideally suited for AHP. In general, aggregation methods employed in group AHP can be largely classified into two methods: geometric mean method and (weighted) arithmetic mean method. In a situation where there do not exist clear guidelines for selection between them, two methods do not always guarantee the same group decision result. We propose a simulation approach for building group consensus without efforts to make point estimates from individual diverse preference judgments, displaying possible disagreements as is natural in group members'different viewpoints.

An estimation of economic life for a new weapon system is a critical issue in aquisition process. In general a life cycle cost consists of, development cost, aquisition cost, and maintenance cost. These costs are not identified and obtained in the beginning of the aquisition process. This paper deals with an economic life for KlAl tank which is being deployed recently, using PRICE model. In order to estimate an KlAl economic life, we use equivalent annual cost method which is sum of capital recovering with return and equivalent O&M cost method. This method determines an economic life by minimizing annual investment cost and operation and maintenance cost. In this paper, an aquisition cost of KlAl is obtained from PRICE H and O&M cost from PRICE HL model. We obtained various results depending upon production quantity. An economic life for KlAl is estimated 18 years when 300 tanks are produced.

The limits of current DN(Defense networks), private and closed network, become to reality; for Example, high expense of construction and maintenance of networks, restriction of new subscribers on DN. Therefore, a network using web environment that reflect fast development of If and IS(Information Security) technology is demanded for MND. Meeting the requirement of reliable IS system and extension and improvement of DN using common network, we can reduce the expense to extend, maintain, repair DN, form the environment that makes military business cooperate better with civil company and government agency, advance implementing Defense computing and networking service for field small size units that was a exception of Defense digitalization. But it is essential to construct DN based on common network that there are security requisites; confidentiality, integrity, availability, efficiency, log, backup, restoration, that have to be realized at demanding level for IS. This thesis suggested four measurements; replacement DN with common network to resolve the requirements of building new network and improvement of performance for private DN, linkage with common network for new requirement, distribution of traffic using common network, configuration of DN using Internet and Proposed a refinement of IS management organization to treat security threat of common network flexibly, and LAN IS standard model of DN based on the web environment.

The UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) offers numerous benefits to the military. The benefits it can provide are to perform an operation without loss of life and economic life cycle cost. This clearly showed us the benefits of using UAVs in the operation, especially in politically hostile and sensitive areas. While the American military first used UAVs, it is Israel that has used them best in real situations. In this paper, it is summarized the types and the OPCONs (Operational Concept) of UAVs and the values. Looking at the technology trends, and it is showed the benefits of UAV in the economic side feasibility, to emphasis on the future values of the UAVs as a newly emerging weapon systems.
