Helical gear system is widely used to transmit heavy duty power with harmonies and silences between parallel shafts. This paper predicts a life with Weibull distribution and estimates a reliability based on recycle principle of helical gear systems. 2-parameter Weibull distribution is generally adopted to estimate the mechanical life and the reliability of most gear systems, because this Weibull distribution is proper to explain a characteristics or a life of parts of gear systems with linearity of probability density data on weibull data sheet. For a high reliability, this paper estimates a number of overhaul times and a number of needed substitutes (exchange attachment,1 or parts) with following renewal theory, One is make an exchange of whole module include failure attachments/parts and second estimating method is only exchange of a failure attachments / parts.
Background EEG signals can be represented as the sum of a conventional AR process and an innovation process. It is know that conventional estimation techniques, such as least square estimates (LSE) or Gauasian maximum likelihood estimates (MLE-G) are optimal when the innovation process satisfies the Gaussian or presumed distribution. When the data are contaminated by outliers, however, these assumptions are not met and the power spectrum estimated by conventional estimation techniques may be fatally biased. EEG signal may be affected by artifacts, which are outliers in the statistical term. So the robust filtering estimation technique is used against those artifacts and it performs well for the contaminated EEG signal.
Ultrasonic attenuation is an important parameter in Quantitative Ultrasound and many algorithms have been proposed to improve estimation accuracy and repeatability for multiple independent estimates. In this work, we propose an improved algorithm for estimating ultrasonic attenuation utilizing the optimal frequency compounding technique based on stochastic noise model. We formulate mathematical compounding equations in the AWGN channel model and solve optimization problems to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio for multiple frequency components. Individual estimates are calculated by the reference phantom method which provides very stable results in uniformly attenuating regions. We also propose the guideline to select frequency ranges of reflected RF signals. Simulation results using numerical phantoms show that the proposed optimal frequency compounding method provides improved accuracy while minimizing estimation bias. The estimation variance is reduced by only 16% for the un-compounding case, whereas it is reduced by 68% for the uniformly compounding case. The frequency range corresponding to the half-power for reflected signals also provides robust and efficient estimation performance.
This paper proposes a parameter estimation technique of a power transformer. Based on the combined equation, it estimates separately the primary and secondary leakage inductances, winding resistances using the least square method from the instantaneous voltages and currents in the steady state. The performance of the proposed technique was investigated by varying the cut-off frequency of the filter and the number of samples per cycle. The technique estimates the parameters with higher sampling frequencies.
Shin and Sarkar (1993, 1994) studied the problem of testing for a unit root in an AR(p) signal observed with MA(q) noise when the MA parameters are known. In this paper we consider the case when the MA parameters are unknown and to be estimated. Test statistics are defined using unit root parameter estimates based on three different estimation methods of Hannan and Rissanen (1982), Kohn (1979) and Shin and Sarkar (1995). An AR(p) process contaminated by MA(q) noise is a .estricted ARMA model, for which Shin and Sarkar (1995) derived an easy-to-compute Newton- Raphson estimator The two-stage estimation p.ocedu.e of Hannan and Rissanen (1982) is used to compute initial parameter estimates in implementing the iterative estimation methods of both Shin and Sarkar (1995) and Kohn (1979). In a simulation study we compare the relative performance of these unit root tests with respect to both size and power for p=q=1.
Let $\Sigma_{$\mid$\alpha$\mid$=m}\;s_{\alpha}z^{\alpha},\;z\;{\in}\;{\mathbb{C}}^n$ be a unimodular m-homogeneous polynomial in n variables (i.e. $$\mid$s_{\alpha}$\mid$\;=\;1$ for all multi indices $\alpha$), and let $R\;{\subset}\;{\mathbb{C}}^n$ be a (bounded complete) Reinhardt domain. We give lower bounds for the maximum modules $sup_{z\;{\in}\;R\;$\mid$\Sigma_{$\mid$\alpha$\mid$=m}\;s_{\alpha}z^{\alpha}$\mid$$, and upper estimates for the average of these maximum moduli taken over all possible m-homogeneous Bernoulli polynomials (i.e. $s_{\alpha}\;=\;{\pm}1$ for all multi indices $\alpha$). Examples show that for a fixed degree m our estimates, for rather large classes of domains R, are asymptotically optimal in the dimension n.

It is increased for methodology to evaluate distribution power system interruption cost in power supply zones under competitive electricity market. This paper presents algorithms to evaluate system interruption cost in distribution power supply zones taking into consideration failure rate of distribution facilities and composite customer interruption cost. In this paper, it is introduced for weighting factor for each customer failure duration and failure rate of distribution facilities to evaluate reasonable system interruption cost in distribution power supply area. Also, this Paper estimates evaluation results of system interruption cost using a sample model system. Finally, evaluation results of system interruption cost based on failure rate of distribution facilities and composite customer interruption cost are shown in detail.
So far, electricity rate under the midnight hour incorporates policy consideration and maintains fixed irrespective of generation cost. Therefore, the promotion of midnight power apparatus has been rapidly increased due to increasing difference in substitute heating cost. This paper estimates the power supply cost during midnight times and analyzes the rate mechanism which can promote economic midnight power apparatus. In addition it provides the alternative on the direction of policy after the restructuring.
Frequency and phasor are the most important quantities in power system operation because they can reflect the whole power system situation. This paper proposes a design and implementation using phase angle difference calculation for frequency measuring in power system. The process is considered to be complicated as compared to the present proposed method. Performance test results, using signals from Excel program, indicate that the proposed technique can provide accurate estimates within 16ms.
Epistasis that may explain a large portion of the phenotypic variation for complex economic traits of animals has been ignored in many genetic association studies. A Baysian method was introduced to draw inferences about multilocus genotypic effects based on their marginal posterior distributions by a Gibbs sampler. A simulation study was conducted to provide statistical powers under various unbalanced designs by using this method. Data were simulated by combined designs of number of loci, within genotype variance, and sample size in unbalanced designs with or without null combined genotype cells. Mean empirical statistical power was estimated for testing posterior mean estimate of combined genotype effect. A practical example for obtaining empirical statistical power estimates with a given sample size was provided under unbalanced designs. The empirical statistical powers would be useful for determining an optimal design when interactive associations of multiple loci with complex phenotypes were examined.
