Purpose : The purpose of this study was to know the relationship of stress and aggression of children with physical disability. The study also tried to search the factors affecting aggression and offer the information to the department of occupational therapy for intervention. Method : We distributed questionnaire to 105 children who have disability grades from hospitals in Gyeongsangbukdo, Gyeongsangnamdo, Daegu, and Busan and collected the data. We used descriptives for analysis of general characteristics, t-test and one-way ANOVA for stress and aggression according to characteristics, and Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise regression for stress and aggression. Result : The first, stress score was 2.65, aggression was 2.53, and physical aggression was 3.01 that is the highest score in the items. The second, there was a significant difference of physical aggression(p=.021) in comparison of the grades. There was a significant difference of stress(p=.048), total aggression(p=.040), and physical aggression(p=.047) in comparison of gender. There was significant difference of stress(p=.035) and total aggression(p=.042) in satisfaction of school. The third, there was a significant correlation of total aggression(r=.475), physical aggression(r=.568), language aggression(r=.311), anger(r=.397), and hostility (r=.491) quantitatively in correlation of stress and aggression. The fourth, the factors affecting aggression of children with physical disability were stress, male, and satisfaction of school(F=61.187, p<.01). Conclusion : We knew that factors affecting aggression of children with physical disability were their stress and some of general characteristics.
The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of child, day care, and home variables that influence physical and relational aggression of preschool children. The participants were 338 four and five year olds recruited from day care centers. Children's self-regulation, day care experiences and parenting stress were reported by mothers. Children's aggression and the teacher-child relationships were measured by teachers. The results showed that self-regulation was negatively correlated with physical and relational aggression. Years of day care experiences and parenting stress were positively related with physical and relational aggression. Moreover, teacher-child conflicts were positively associated with physical as well as relational aggression.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among parents' marital conflict perceived by school-aged children, children's aggression, and peer harassment six hundred thirty seven 5th and 6th graders (306 girls and 331 boys) participated in this study. Each participant completed a children's perception of parental conflict scale, a children's aggression scale, and a peer harassment scale. Major findings of this study are as follows: 1) In terms of physical harassment, boys were bullied and victimized more than girls. 2) Children's aggression was positively related to the physical and relational peer harassment. Parents' marital conflict was positively related to children's aggression. There was a statistically significant relationship between parents marital conflict and physical and relational peer harassment. 3) Parents' marital conflict and children's aggression influenced physical and relational harassment for both boys and girls.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlations among physical, relational aggression and friendship quality and the similarity of perceptions of friendship quality between friends. Moreover, APIM was applied to examine the actor and partner effects of aggression on friendship quality. The subjects were 339 5th grade children recruited from 2 public primary schools located in Gyeonggi province. The results demonstrated that there were significant correlations between friendship quality and both types of aggression. The perceptions of help, intimacy, emotional stability, and conflict between friends were significantly similar. Finally, there were significant self-effects of physical aggression on friendship conflict. Moreover, there were self-and partner-effects of relational aggression on friendship conflict.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to identify the longitudinal reciprocal relationship between young children's vocabulary ability and physical aggression in young children. Methods: Two waves of panel data(2013/2015) from the Panel Study of Korean Children were analyzed in this study by using an adapted version of Autoregressive cross-lagged modeling. A total of 306 five-year-old and seven-year-old preschoolers, and their mothers participated in the study. Autoregressive cross-lagged modeling for multiple groups was conducted by using AMOS 24.0. Results: First, vocabulary ability and physical aggression showed stability over time. Second, young children's vocabulary ability(t) had a statistically significant effect on physical aggression(t+1). Conclusion/Implications: This study confirmed the interrelationships of young children's vocabulary ability and physical aggression by examining longitudinal data using the longitudinal analysis method. This study highlights the importance of developing interventions to support language development with aggressive children. The results of the present study can be used as a source in developing policies for aggressive children and their parents.
This study is to investigate the marital conflict resolution acts (CRA) of rural spouses and to explore the relationship between the CRA and several important factors : socio-demographic, marital relation and drinking pattern factors. Participants in this study are 150 rural women who are married and live with their husband. A modification of the Conflict Tactics Scale is used to measure the CRA of four levels, reasoning, verbal aggression, minor physical violence, and heavy physical violence. The major findings of this study are as follows. First the frequencies of each type of the CRA-reasoning, verbal aggression, minor physical violence and heavy physical violence-are 12.1%, 57.9%, 17.1% and 12.9% respectively. Therefore, the verbal aggression is the most prevalent type of the CRA Second, the result from multiple regression shows that the conflict from husband's whoring, husband's drinking capacity and family type have a meaningful impact on husband's physical violence.
This study examined if any differences exist of young children's physical and relational aggression as affected by aggression levels, teacher-child and peer relationship, age, and gender. Furthermore, the extent of physical or relational aggression of the young children influencing teacher-child relationships is also examined. In this study, two hundred and fifty children aged three to ten and fifty-two teachers were targeted. They responded on questionnaires in regard to aggression, teacher-child relationships, and peer relationship. The findings are as follows: First, in terms of child aggression according to his/her age, it has been shown that physical aggression is primarily present in the age of four. Second, concerning gender, boys are found to be high in levels of both relational and physical aggression. Third, the data shows that in the relationship between the child's aggression and teacher-child relationship, the higher the child's aggression, the lower the intimacy of relationship between child and teacher and the higher the dependence and conflict in the relationship of teacher and child. Fourth, in the examination of relationships between a child's aggression and peer influence, higher levels of relational and physical aggression correlate with higher aggressive, hyperactive, and anti-social behaviors. In addition, the higher the age and relational aggression, the higher the pro-social behaviors that occur. Pedagogical implications and suggestions are put forth in the areas of improving relationships between children and teachers, how teachers can assist young learner development, and techniques to improve peer relationships and reduce its difficulties.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the correlation between the health behaviors and the aggression in Korean high school students. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted with a survey of 2,676 high school students. Aggression was measured in four categories (physical aggression, verbal aggression, anger and hostility) using the Aggression Questionnaire, a modified hostility inventory by Buss and Perry. Result: Univariate analysis showed that sex, smoking, alcohol, caffeine, pain pills and gastrointestinal drugs were significantly associated with aggression scores. Boys scored higher than girls in terms of physical and verbal aggression. With respect to the habit of self-medication, students who took pain pills in the last 30 days revealed higher scores in all four aggressive constructs. From multivariate analysis, it was found that alcohol, caffeine, smoking, pain pills, sex and gastrointestinal drugs were independently associated with total aggression score in the order of importance. Alcohol and caffeine, among these factors, had strong correlation with all aggressive characteristics. Conclusion: This study identified a consistent association between the aggression of the students and health behavioral factors, but causal relationship remains to be proven.
This study examined the effects of parenting behaviors, marital conflict and sibling relations on aggression with a sample of 301 6th graders (161 boys and 140 girls) living in P city. The subjects answered questionnaires regarding parenting behaviors, including sub-scales of physical punishment and psychological control, marital conflict, and sibling relations. Aggression was rated by peers. The results indicated that boys showed higher overt aggression than girls; children were aggressive when parents frequently used physical punishment and psychological control; the more children were exposed to marital conflict, the more aggressive they were, with particularly high correlations for girls; and the less positive and the more negative the sibling relations, the higher the aggression shown by children. Among the variables, parent's behaviors were the most highly correlated with aggression in both boys and girls.
The purpose of this study was to investigate relationships between the appraisal type of competency and aggression in elementary school students. Appraisal type was divided into inflated/deflated ratings. Appraisal type in competencies, and sex were independent variables, and aggression was dependent variables. SPPC, TRS and AS were administered to 419 students and 20 teachers. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, the correlation of child-teacher with perceived competence ratings was the highest in the scholastic competence. Second, frequency of deflated appraisal was the highest in the behavioral conduct. Third, physical aggression is differentiated by the sex. And physical aggression was high when athletic competence was deflated. Fourth, physical aggression, hostility and anger were high when physical appearance was deflated. Fifth, hostility is significantly different by the interaction effect between sex and appraisal type of behavioral conduct. The above findings imply that appraisal type in competencies does not always result in aggression and this study will provide a useful insight for aggression reduction in elementary school students.
