다중 격자 Navier-Stokes 해석을 위한 수렴 특성 연구 : II. 내재적 예조건자 (Convergence Study of the Multigrid Navier-Stokes Simulation : II. Implicit Preconditioners)

  • 본 연구는 다중 격자 Navier-Stokes 방정식 해석의 수렴성 향상을 그 목적으로 한다. 다중 격자 기법의 성능 향상을 위해 최근 많이 사용되고 있는 예조건화된 다단계 시간 전진 기법의 효율성 향상을 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 압축성 유동장 해석시 자주 이용되는 ADI 예조건자와 DDADI 예조건자의 수렴 특성 비교 연구를 수행하였다. 2차원 압축성 난류 유동장 해석에 적용함으로써 DDADI 예조건자가 ADI 예조건자에 비해 우수한 수렴특성을 가짐을 확인하였고, 이를 통하여 Fourier 해석을 통한 예조건화 특성 연구와 일치하는 수렴 특성을 확인하였다. Spalart-Allmaras(S-A) 난류 모델과 Baldwin-Lomax (B-L) 난류 모델의 적용을 통해 난류 모델에 따른 수렴성 비교를 수행하였다.

내부조파기법을 활용한 Navier-Stokes 방정식 모형의 고립파 처오름 수치모의 (Numerical Simulation of Solitary Wave Run-up with an Internal Wave-Maker of Navier-Stokes Equations Model)

  • 급경사에서의 고립파의 처오름을 예측하기 위해 3차원 수치모형에 내부조파기법을 도입하여 수치모형실험을 수행하였다. 수치모형은 Navier-Stokes 방정식을 유한차분법을 이용하여 계산하는 동수압 모형으로서, 난류의 해석을 위해서 상대적으로 큰 에디(eddy)만을 고려하는 SANS(spatially averaged Navier-Stokes) 방정식을 푸는 LES(large-eddy-simulation) 기반의 수치모형을 사용한다. 엇갈림 격자체계에서 유한차분법을 사용하여 지배방정식을 해석하는 모형으로서 수치기법으로 Two-step projection 기법을 사용하여 SANS 방정식을 풀었으며, Poisson 방정식을Bi-CGSTAB 기법을 이용하여 풀고 압력장을 계산하였다. 또한, 자유수면의 추적을 위하여 2차 정확도의 VOF(volume-of-fluid) 기법을 사용하였다. 먼저 고립파를 3차원 공간의 일정 수심상에서 내부조파하여 해석해와 비교한 후 분산오차에 대해 분석하였다. 그리고 고립파를 내부조파하여 급경사에서의 고립파의 처오름 및 처내림 현상을 예측하고 수리모형 실험결과와 비교 및 분석하였다.

Numerical Simulation of the Navier-Stokes Equations Using the Artificial Compressibility (AC) Method with the 4th Order Artificial Dissipation Terms

  • The artificial compressibility (AC) method for the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in the generalized curvilinear coordinates using the primitive form is implemented. The main advantage of the AC approach is that the resulting system of equations resembles the system of compressible N-S equations and can thus be integrated in time using standard, well-established time-marching methods. The errors, which are the odd-even oscillation, for pressure field in using the artificial compressibility can be eliminated by using the $4^{th}$ order artificial dissipation term which is explicitly included. Even though this paper focuses exclusively on 2D laminar flows to validate and assess the performance of this solver, this numerical method is general enough so that it can be readily extended to carry out 3D URANS simulation of engineering flows. This algorithm yields practically identical velocity profiles and primary vortex and secondary vortices that are in excellent overall agreement with the results of the vorticity-stream function formulation (Ghia et al., 1982). However, the grid resolution have to be required to be large enough to express the various vortices.

비정렬 격자상에서 비압축성 유동해석을 위한 음해법에 대한 연구 (A STUDY ON IMPLICIT METHOD FOR SOLVING INCOMPRESSIBLE FLOW WITH UNSTRUCTURED MESHES)

  • A new and efficient implicit scheme is proposed to obtain a steady-state solution in time integration and the comparison of characteristics with the approximation ways for the implicit method to solve the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations is provided. The conservative, finite-volume cell-vertex upwind scheme and artificial compressibility method using dual time stepping for time accuracy is applied in this paper. The numerical results obtained indicate that the direct application of Jacobian matrix to the Lower and upper sweeps of implicit LU-SGS leads to better performance as well as convergence regardless of CFL number and true time step than explicit scheme and approximation of Jacobian matrix. The flow simulation around box in uniform flow with unstructured meshes is demonstrated to check the validity of the current formulation.

모멘텀 소스 방법을 이용한 로터-기체간의 간섭작용 해석 (Aerodynamic Simulation of Rotor-Airframe Interaction by the Momentum Source Method)

  • 로터-기체 사이의 간섭작용을 정확하게 계산하기 위해서는 로터의 회전을 사실적으로 모사할 수 있는 로터-기체 결합형상의 Navier-Stokes 해석이 필요하다. 하지만 회전하는 로터를 포함한 전기체를 해석할 경우 격자가 증가함에 따라 계산 비용과 시간이 증가된다. 모멘텀 소스 방법은 로터를 디스크 격자에 모멘텀 소스로 대체하여 시간 평균된 로터-기체의 간섭작용을 해석하므로 비교적 경제적이면서도 정확한 결과를 얻을 수 있다. 일반적으로 모멘텀 소스 값은 블레이드 요소 이론을 이용하여 구하지만 결과의 정확성이 떨어진다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 모멘텀 소스를 Moving mesh 방법을 이용한 Navier-Stokes 계산을 통해 구하여 정확성을 높였다. 이 모멘텀 소스 값을 이용하여 정상해석을 하여 실험결과와 비교하였다. 기존의 모멘텀 소스 방법은 시간 평균된 유동장만 관찰할 수 있으므로 비정상 유동장을 관찰하기 위하여 비정상 로터-기체 간섭작용 해석 모델을 개발하여 실험결과와 비교해 보았다. 검증을 위하여 간단한 형상인 Georgia Tech 형상을 사용하여 실험결과와 비교해 보았으며 본 연구의 계산결과가 실험결과와 잘 일치하는 것을 볼 수 있었다.

직렬 미소채널 기체유장의 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of Gas Flows in Microchannels in Series)

  • A kinetic theory analysis is made of low-speed gas flows in a microfluidic system consisted of three microchannels in series. The Boitzmann equation simplified by a collision model is solved by means of a finite difference approximation with the discrete ordinate method. For the evaluation of the present method results are compared with those from the DSMC method and an analytical solution of the Navier-Stokes equations with slip boundary conditions. Calculations are made for flows at various Knudsen numbers and pressure ratios across the channel. The results compared well with those from the DSMC method. It is shown that the analytical solution of the Navier-Stokes equations with slip boundary conditions which is suited fur fully developed flows can give relatively good results. In predicting the geometrically complex flows up to a Knudsen number of about 0.06. It is also shown that the present method can be used to analyze extremely low-speed flow fields for which the DSMC method is Impractical.

  • In this article, combination of the FAS-FMG multi-grid method and the Krylov subspace method was presented in solving two dimensional driven-cavity flows. Three algorithms of the Krylov subspace method, CG, CGSTAB(Bi-CG Stabilized) and GMRES method were tested with MILU preconditioner. As a smoother of the pressure correction equation, the MILU-CG is recommended rather than MILU-GMRES(k) or MILU-CGSTAB, since the MILU-GMRES(k) preconditioner has too much computation on the coarse grid compared to the MILU-CG one. As for the momentum equation, relatively cheap smoother like SIP solver may be sufficient.

  • Three-dimensional flow analysis and numerical optimization methods are presented for the design of an axial-flow fan. Steady, Incompressible, three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Wavier-Stokes equations are used as governing equations, and standard k-$\epsilon$ turbulence model is chosen as a turbulence model. Governing equations are discretized using finite volume method. Steepest descent method, conjugate gradient method and BFGS method are compared to determine the searching directions. Golden section method and quadratic fit-sectioning method are tested for one dimensional search. Objective function is defined as a ratio of generation rate of the turbulent kinetic energy to pressure head. Sweep angle distributions are used as design variables.

유체-구조 연성 문제의 형상 최적설계 (Shape Design Optimization of Fluid-Structure Interaction Problems)

  • A coupled variational equation for fluid-structure interaction (FSI) problems is derived from a steady state Navier-Stokes equation for incompressible Newtonian fluid and an equilibrium equation for geometrically nonlinear structures. For a fully coupled FSI formulation, between fluid and structures, a traction continuity condition is considered at interfaces where a no-slip condition is imposed. Under total Lagrange formulation in the structural domain, finite rotations are well described by using the second Piola-Kirchhoff stress and Green-Lagrange strain tensors. An adjoint shape design sensitivity analysis (DSA) method based on material derivative approach is applied to the FSI problem to develop a shape design optimization method. Demonstrating some numerical examples, the accuracy and efficiency of the developed DSA method is verified in comparison with finite difference sensitivity. Also, for the FSI problems, a shape design optimization is performed to obtain a maximal stiffness structure satisfying an allowable volume constraint.

원심다익송풍기의 고효율 설계를 위한 수치최적설계 (Numerical Optimization of a Multi-blades Centrifugal Fan for High-efficiency Design)

  • Shape of a multi-blades centrifugal fan is optimized by response surface method based on three-dimensional Navier-Stokes analysis. For numerical analysis, Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with standard $k-{epsilon}$ turbulence model are transformed into non-orthogonal curvilinear coordinate system, and are discretized with finite volume approximations. Due to the large number of blades in this centrifugal fan, the flow inside of the fan is regarded as steady flow by introducing the impeller force models for economic calculations. Optimizations with and without constraints are carried out. Design variables, location of cur off, radius of cut off, expansion angle of scroll and width of impeller were selected to optimize the shapes of scroll and blades. Data points for response evaluations were selected by D-optimal design, and linear programming method was used for the optimization on the response surface. As a main result of the optimization, the efficiency was successfully improved. The correlation of efficiency with relative size of inactive zone at the exit of impeller is discussed as well as with average momentum fluxes in the scroll.
