  • The construction of the transportation history database system is to serve the scheduling and seat inventory controling. Recently, lots of countries have been faced with the advance era because of the new railway transportation system, like the high speed railway and/or magnetic levitation vehicle system. This can be reasonably translated as those of operators are willing to provide the more various and high quality schedule to the customer. Those operators' these ideas make possible to forecast that scheduling process is going to be complicated more and more The seat inventory control, so to speak Yield Management System(YMS), goes a long way to improve the total passenger revenue at the railway business. The YMS forecasts the number of the last reservation value(DCP# END) and recommends the optimal values on the seat sales. The history database system contains infra-data(ie, train, seat, sales) that will be the foundation of scheduling and seat inventory control application programs. The development of the application programs are reserved to the next step. The database system is installed on the pc platform(IBM compatible), using the DB2(RDBMS). And at next step, the platform and DBMS will be considered whether they can meet the users' requirement or not.

  • This paper discusses the problem of coordinating aggregate planning and production schedules, minimizing the combined set-up inventory and capacity costs. In this study, by using the relation of fixed production quantity and the number of set-up we develop a heuristirc procedure of solving the discrete demand, fixed production quantity, variable capacity problem. First, we obtain the trade-off between set-up cost and capacity cost, then search the point minimizing the combined inventory and capacity costs.

  • As order quantity is increased, the ordering cost per item will be cheaper due to saving of transportation and material handling costs. In this paper, two realistic assumptions such as quantity discount and budget limit are considered. Quantity discount means that all units in the order will be discounted according to the predetermined order levels. Budget limit represents that the costs for inventory investments are bounded. This paper develops a Lagrangian relaxation approach for a continuous review inventory model with a budget constraint and quantity discounts. Computational results indicate that the proposed approach provides a good solution. Sensitivity analysis is done to get some insights on budget limit and quantity discount. As budget limit or the amount of discount according to order quantity is increased, order quantity is increased, whereas reorder point is not always increased.

  • A manufacturing company should produce its products and make a profit to continue its management. With the adoption of a multi-category small-volume production system, manufacturers that produce concrete pump-cine products are carrying out improvement activities to increase their market share amid the business-to-customer business environment. However, the slump in the construction investment environment has led to a decline in sales of concrete pump trucks. The purpose of holding inventory is to prevent loss of sales opportunities with the rate of change in the sales plan, and reducing the rate of change in the product can reduce unnecessary inventory and, in order to realize this, the goal of reducing inventory can be achieved by reviewing the parts that can be designed for common use. Therefore, to reduce the inventory of concrete pump trucks, semi-finished publicization design is necessary. According to the analysis, the frame assembly process of the 32M model is common. Production capacity can be secured without loss of sales opportunity.

  • Optimum lot size calculation for real world manufacturing environment has been focused since last few decades. Several extensions have been made to the basic economic order and production order quantity models to realize the possible practical situations in industry. However, focus on work-in-process inventory has been ignored relatively. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the models developed for group technology based manufacturing environment focusing on work-in-process inventory. Models have been extended from a perfect manufacturing conditions to an imperfect manufacturing situation considering rework, rejection and inspection. Optimum lot size has been evaluated using a simple algebraic optimization approach. Significant parameters are highlighted using sensitivity analysis for the developed models. Numerical example is used to illustrate the utilization of such models in day-to-day production setups and the impact of significant factors' variation on total cost and optimum lot size.

  • 건설현장에서는 일반적으로 많은 양의 자재재고를 보유해 왔다. 이러한 자재재고는 현장의 불확실한 수요에 대응하여 공정지연을 방지하고, 원자재 가격 상승으로 인한 비용증가에 대비하는 등 순기능적 측면이 있다. 하지만 과도한 자재재고는 재고보유에 소요되는 재고유지비를 증가시키고 현장물류 공간배치의 효율성을 저하시키는 등 낭비요인으로 작용하기도 한다. 따라서 현장의 다양한 변동성을 고려하여 적정 자재재고 수준을 결정하고 관리하는 것은 건설공사의 효율성 측면에서 매우 중요한 요소이다. 본 연구는 시스템 접근방법의 절차에 의하여 철근가공 조립공정과 같이 현장에 투입되기 이전에 원자재 조립 가공과정을 갖는 건설 프로세스론 분석하고 이러한 흐름과정에서 재고수준을 적정화하는 알고리즘을 제시하였다. 이러한 재고관리 방안의 적용성을 확인하기 인하여 수도권지역 경전철 건설사업의 철근 가공장에서의 재고관리 사례를 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 알고리즘을 적용한 결과, 현장의 실제 철근 소요량과 가공장에 입고되는 철근 원자재의 입고량이 균형을 이루었고, 이에 따라 평균 재고량과 재고유시비용이 크게 감소되는 것으로 나타났다.

In this study, we had designed mixed production system which integrated searching and grouping function of GT, purchasing function of JIT and based on MRP and developed related algorithms and applied systems. The developed system was based on appling renewed algorithms for existing MRP system. To test efficiency operated real-data but we have tested renewed algorithms using sample-data because of massive real-data.

  • Automatic transfer defined as an integrated system with a number of workstations, interstation storage buffers, automatic device and a control system, play a major role in ass production systems. Due to high capital investment needed for an automatic transferline, greater care should be taken in its design so as to maximize the system performance. One may to control the system performance is to control buffer storage. To control the interstation work-in-process inventory, we propose dual limit switches which control the buffer storage with two parameters, R and r. Under the policy, proceding station is forced down when the inventory level in the buffer reaches R until the level falls to r. For the model developed, we analyze the system characteristics and find the optimal control parameters with a serach procedure.

  • This paper is concerned with the single vendor single buyer integrated production inventory problem. To make this problem more practical, space restriction and lead time proportional to lot size are considered. Since the space for the inventory is limited in most practical inventory system, the space restriction for the inventory of a vendor and a buyer is considered. As product's quantity to be manufactured by the vendor is increased, the lead time for the order is usually increased. Therefore, lead time for the product is proportional to the order quantity by the buyer. Demand is assumed to be stochastic and the continuous review inventory policy is used by the buyer. If the buyer places an order, then the vendor will start to manufacture products and the products will be transferred to the buyer with equal shipments many times. The mathematical formulation with space restriction for the inventory of a vendor and a buyer is suggested in this paper. This problem is constrained nonlinear integer programming problem. Order quantity, reorder points for the buyer, and the number of shipments are required to be determined. A Lagrangian relaxation approach, a popular solution method for constrained problem, is developed to find lower bound of this problem. Since a Lagrangian relaxation approach cannot guarantee the feasible solution, the solution method based on the Lagrangian relaxation approach is proposed to provide with a good feasible solution. Total costs by the proposed method are pretty close to those by the Lagrangian relaxation approach. Sensitivity analysis for space restriction for the vendor and the buyer is done to figure out the relationships between parameters.
