  • Using Minimax principle and Linking theorem in critical point theory, we prove the existence of two nontrivial solutions for the following second order superlinear difference systems $$(P)\{{\Delta}^2x(k-1)+g(k,y(k))=0,\;k{\in}[1,\;T],\;{\Delta}^2y(k-1)+f(k,\;x(k)=0,\;k{\in}[1,\;T],\;x(0)=y(0)=0,\;x(T+1)=y(T+1)=0$$ where T is a positive integer, [1, T] is the discrete interval {1, 2,..., T}, ${\Delat}x(k)=x(k+1)-x(k)$ is the forward difference operator and ${\Delta}^2x(k)={\Delta}({\Delta}x(k))$.

  • In this paper, a new fixed point theorem in cone is applied to obtain the existence of at least one positive pseudo-symmetric solution for the second order three-point boundary value problem {x" + f(t, x, x')=0, t $\in$ (0, 1), x(0)=0, x(1)=x($\eta$), where f is nonnegative continuous function; ${\eta}\;{\in}$ (0, 1) and f(t, u, v) = f(1+$\eta$-t, u, -v).

  • The aim of this paper is to prove the existence of an admissible inertial manifold for mild solutions to infinite delay evolution equation of the form $$\{{\frac{du}{dt}}+Au=F(t,\;u_t),\;t{\geq}s,\\\;u_s({\theta})={\phi}({\theta}),\;{\forall}{\theta}{\in}(-{{\infty}},\;0],\;s{\in}{\mathbb{R}},$$ where A is positive definite and self-adjoint with a discrete spectrum, the Lipschitz coefficient of the nonlinear part F may depend on time and belongs to some admissible function space defined on the whole line. The proof is based on the Lyapunov-Perron equation in combination with admissibility and duality estimates.

  • This paper is concerned with H$_{\infty}$ controller design methods for descriptor systems with and without time-varying delays in state and control input. The sufficient condition for the existence of an H$_{\infty}$ controller and the controller design method are presented by linear matrix inequality (LMI), singular value decomposition, Schur complements, and changes of variables. Since the obtained sufficient condition can be changed to an LMI form by proper manipulations, all solutions including controller gain can be obtained at the same time. Moreover, it is shown that robust H$_{\infty}$ controller design problem for parameter uncertain descriptor systems with time-varying delays in state and control input can be solvable using the proposed method.

  • We prove convergence properties of the global solutions to the cooperative cross-diffusion system with the intra-specific cooperative pressures dominated by the inter-specific competition pressures and the inter-specific cooperative pressures dominated by intra-specific competition pressures. Under these conditions the $W^1_2-bound$ and the time global existence of the solution for the cooperative cross-diffusion system have been obtained in [10]. In the present paper the convergence of the global solution is established for the cooperative cross-diffusion system with large diffusion coefficients.

  • As decision makers do not make optimal decisions in practice despite the existence of optimal solutions in many models, there has been a rising interest in behavioral operations management recently. In this study, we aim for a comparative study to analyze the inventory decisions in Korea, America, and China, by conducting the same newsvendor experiment in Korea and compare the results with those of previous studies. From the comparative analysis, some national characteristics in decision-making processes have been observed but there is lowly significant difference in order quantities among the three groups. Korean students show lower level of understanding in demand distributions and tendencies of anchoring on the mean demand and being risk-averse. The finding that individuals make their own decisions differently based on their different behaviors suggests that we need to consider individual approach in analyzing human decision-making processes rather than adapting aggregate approach.

  • In this paper, we introduce new monotone concepts for set-valued mappings, called generalized C(x)-L-pseudomonotonicity and weakly C(x)-L-pseudomonotonicity. And we obtain generalized Minty-type lemma and the existence of solutions to vector variational inequality problems for weakly C(x)-L-pseudomonotone set-valued mappings, which generalizes and extends some results of Konnov & Yao [11], Yu & Yao [20], and others Chen & Yang [6], Lai & Yao [12], Lee, Kim, Lee & Cho [16] and Lin, Yang & Yao [18].

  • In this paper, we give a new approach to solving the 2-variable subnormal completion problem (SCP for short). To this aim, we extend the notion of recursively generated weighted shifts, introduced by R. Curto and L. Fialkow, to 2-variable case. We next provide "concrete" necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions to the 2-variable SCP with minimal Berger measure. Furthermore, a short alternative proof to the propagation phenomena, for the subnormal weighted shifts in 2-variable, is given.

  • The quaternionic Calabi conjecture was introduced by Alesker-Verbitsky, analogous to the Kähler case which was raised by Calabi. On a compact connected hypercomplex manifold, when there exists a flat hyperKähler metric which is compatible with the underlying hypercomplex structure, we will consider the parabolic quaternionic Monge-Ampère equation. Our goal is to prove the long time existence and C convergence for normalized solutions as t → ∞. As a consequence, we show that the limit function is exactly the solution of quaternionic Monge-Ampère equation, this gives a parabolic proof for the quaternionic Calabi conjecture in this special setting.

  • Let u be a function on a connected finite graph G = (V, E). We consider the mean field equation (1) $-{\Delta}u={\rho}\({\frac{he^u}{\int_Vhe^ud{\mu}}}-{\frac{1}{{\mid}V{\mid}}}\),$ where ∆ is 𝜇-Laplacian on the graph, 𝜌 ∈ ℝ\{0}, h : V → ℝ+ is a function satisfying minx∈V h(x) > 0. Following Sun and Wang [15], we use the method of Brouwer degree to prove the existence of solutions to the mean field equation (1). Firstly, we prove the compactness result and conclude that every solution to the equation (1) is uniformly bounded. Then the Brouwer degree can be well defined. Secondly, we calculate the Brouwer degree for the equation (1), say $$d_{{\rho},h}=\{{-1,\;{\rho}>0, \atop 1,\;{\rho}<0.}$$ Consequently, the equation (1) has at least one solution due to the Brouwer degree d𝜌,h ≠ 0.
