  • A differential-cascode CMOS power amplifier (PA) with a supply modulator for envelope tracking (ET) has been implemented by 0.18 ${\mu}m$ RF CMOS technology. The loss at the output is minimized by implementing the output transformer on a FR-4 printed circuit board (PCB). The CMOS PA utilizes the $2^{nd}$ harmonic short at the input to enhance the linearity. The measurement was done by the 10MHz bandwidth 16QAM 6.88 dB peak-to-average power ratio long-term evolution (LTE) signal at 1.85 GHz. The ET operation of the CMOS PA with the supply modulator enhances the power-added efficiency (PAE) by 2.5, to 10% over the stand-alone CMOS PA for the LTE signal. The ET PA achieves a PAE of 36.5% and an $ACLR_{E-UTRA}$ of -32.7 dBc at an average output power of 27 dBm.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel unambiguous correlation function for composite binary offset carrier (CBOC) signal tracking. First, we observe that a sub-carrier of CBOC signal is seen as a sum of four partial sub-carriers, and generate four partial-correlations composing the CBOC autocorrelation. Then, we obtain an unambiguous correlation function with a sharp main-peak by re-combining the partial correlations. From numerical results, we confirm that the proposed unambiguous correlation function offers a better tracking performance than the conventional correlation functions in terms of the tracking error standard deviation and multipath error envelope.

  • Building envelope systems with growing complexity in geometry and performance criteria demand adapted workflow processes toward the efficient integration of their design and fabrication. To facilitate integration of the workflow process, this study analyzes relationships among teams who share digital models and exchange information that help project participants identify areas of improvement in task allocation and exchanges among various actors, systems, and activities. In addition, major gaps identified in knowledge transfer, project tracking, and design integration during the performance evaluation stages, emphasize the need for a more comprehensive approach to integrating the design, the fabrication, and the construction parameters of building envelope systems. To evaluate the effectiveness of streamlining interactions of design parameters with fabrication constraints and constructability assessments, this paper examines a mechanical design approach as it applies to various project scenarios to develop a mechanical solution for streamlining building envelope design and construction workflow.

  • In this paper, CE-CPSK(Constant Envelope Continuous Phase Shift Keying) modulated DS/SS(Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum) transceiver with 908 MHz carrier frequency and 1.5 MHz PN clock rate is proposed. To overcome the effect of nun-linear power amplifier, CE-CPSK modulation method which has the constant envelope and continuous phase characteristics is proposed. To analyze the DS/SS receiver performance with respect to code tracking loop, multipath fading channel is characterized as a two-ray Rayleigh fading channel. To compensate the demerit of analog delay locked loop, digital delay locked loop is employed for code tracking loop. Simulation and experimental examination has been carried out in AWGN(Additive White Gaussian Noise) and Rayleigh fading channel environment in order to prove validity of the proposed method.

  • This paper presents the design and optimization of output matching network according to envelope for class F power amplifier(PA) which is to apply to envelope elimination and restoration(EER) transmitter. In this paper, to increase the PAE of class F power amplifier which applies to EER transmitter, the varactor diode has been used on output matching network. As envelope changes, it optimizes constitution of harmonic trap that is short circuit in 2nd-harmonic and is open circuit in 3rd-harmonic. When drain voltage changes from 25 V to 30 V, some percentage is improved in the PAE.put the abstract of paper here.

  • The gate-biases of the Doherty power amplifier are controlled to improve the linearity performance. The linearity improvement mechanism of the Doherty amplifier is the harmonic cancellation of the carrier and peaking amplifier at the output power combining point. However, it is difficult to cancel the harmonic power for the broader power range because the condition for cancelling is varied by power. For the linearity improvement, we have explored the linearity characteristic of the Doherty amplifier according to the input power and gate biases of the carrier and peaking amplifier. To extend the region of harmonic power cancellation, we have injected the proper gate bias to the carrier and peaking amplifier according to the input power levels. To validate the linearity improvement, the Doherty amplifier is designed using Eudyna 10-W PEP GaN HEMT EGN010MKs at 2.345 GHz and optimized to achieve a high linearity and efficiency at an average output power of 33 dBm, backed off about 10 dB from the $P_{1dB}$. In the experiments, the envelope tracking Doherty amplifier delivers a significantly improved adjacent channel leakage ratio performance of -37.4 dBc, which is an enhancement of about 2.8 dB, maintaining the high PAE of about 26 % for the WCDMA 1-FA signal at an average output power of 33 dBm. For the 802.16-2004 signal, the amplifier is also improved by about 2 dB, -35 dB.

  • Author examined the chewing patterns between the 16 normal subjects and the 10 complete denture wearers with LED mandibular tracking device, and analized the chewing envelope and opening, closing velocity during chewing various test foods-standardized carrot, ham and almond. The results were as follows; 1. The chewing envelope of carrot chewing was greater than that of ham chewing in both groups. 2. The average opening velocity was faster than the average closing velocity in both groups. 3. During chewing carrot or almond, the chewing envelope of dentate stoup was greater than that of denture group, but during chewing ham, there was no statistical difference. 4. During chewing carrot or almond the average opening and closing velocity in dentate group were faster than those of denture group.

  • Parametric array transducers are used for highly directional speaker in an air environments. Piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducers for parametric array transducers need DC-biased voltage driving signals in order to get high-directional quality-sound features. The existing power amplifier such as class A amplifiers has low efficiency and require large volume heatsinks. To overcome the above-mentioned disadvantages of the conventional amplifier, this paper proposes a new power amplifier system. The proposed power amplifier system ensures high linearity of output characteristic by utilizing the push-pull class B type amplifier. Furthermore, the proposed power amplifier system gets high efficiency because it contains the DC-DC converter-type power supply which can perform energy recovery and envelope tracking function. Also the paper suggests the detailed circuit topology. Its characteristics are verified by the detailed experimental results.

  • In this paper, we focus on planing avoidance control for a supercavitating underwater vehicle based on the potential function method. The planing margin can be calculated using the relative position between the cavity center and vehicle center at the end of the vehicle. The planing margin was transformed into a limit variable such as the pitch angle and yaw angle limit. To prevent the vehicle attitude from exceeding the limit variable, a potential function based planing envelope protection method was proposed. The planing envelope protection system overrides commands from the tracking controller, and the vehicle attitude converges to a desired angle, in which the potential function is minimized. Numerical simulations were performed to analyze the physical feasibility and performance of the proposed method. The results showed that the proposed methods eliminated the planing, allowing the vehicle to follow tracking commands.
