  • Implementing ERP system is inherently a very complex task that involves ongoing training employees to use the new system. However, the traditional methods of ERP training and education have presented many problems. A new form of training, e-learning, has emerged. E-learning enables trainees to sign on classes without restrictions of time, distance, and classroom availability. We suggested several usage strategies and e-learning combined model for ERP related organizational change management.

  • ERP system is a fundamental system that is commonly adopted by most companies that intend to take part in e-business. However, few companies are running ERP systems successfully because of inaccuracy in data managed by ERP system. In this paper, we propose a model and the building process of item ontology which organize concepts describing all items managed by enterprises. In addition, we design and implement a system to create and manage item ontologies. We interface our system with a commercial ERP system, then install and run these systems on a manufacturing company. Our item ontologies and management system might help enterprises when they try to take part in e-business.

  • A number of companies tries to transform into e-business organizations in order to enhance their productivity dramatically and create a new value for their customers. Even thought IT invenstment is essential to be an e-business company, it costs a great deal for mid-sized or small-sized companies. Thus, this study suggests a cost-saving and web-based IT outsourcing, application service provider (ASP) that is an applicable model to transform a traditional company into an e-business company. Although companies under mid-size are considering the ASP method when introducing ERP system, ASP is not widespread yet. Therefore, this study analyzes the actual cases of domestic firms which successfully implemented ASP-ERP and investigates the pros and cons of ASP method.

  • ERP implementations are known to be unusually difficult, even when compared to other large-scale systems developing in a firm level, because it requires a substantial investment of time, money, and internal resources. Moreover, medium and small-sized enterprises that are increasingly adopting ERP feel much difficult due to the lack of resources. To promote the spread of ERP in medium and small-sized enterprises, "ERP template standardization methodology" led by government has been used for constructing ERP system in Korea. In this study, we present a study to measure fitness between ERP standard templates and business processes of 10 small enterprises in 5 industries. Also, we define a fitness measure suitable for this purpose. We car find that ERP template standardization methodology is partly adequate to establish ERP systems and it is required to add to templates which support the differences of business process.

  • Among EC areas. the B2B EC market is being spotlighted as an important interesting research area considering its size and the potential impact on companeies and the whole society. In comparison with private consumers in B2C EC. business buyers in B2B EC have to precisely keep track of the purchase records. and integrate them with the buyer's e-procurement system, which might have been implemented as a part of integrated ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. There are three approaches for such integration between ERP and e-marketplace in B2B EC; Two previous approaches are Inside-Out approach and Outside-In approach. And a newly, one is b-cart approach. In this paper, we try to survey these three approaches and make a comparison analysis. From this research. we identify that the b-cart approach is the most efficient framework in integrating ERP with e-marketplace in B2B EC.

  • Rapid business and technology changes drive many organizations to seek better solutions and many of them believe that Information Technology is an essential tool to cope with turbulent environment. Companies began to think ERP system as an effective alternative for IT-based process innovation and integrated information system. But each ERP system has a specific business model and technical structure, unlike in-house developed systems. Moreover implementation of ERP system accompanies transformation of business processes at company level including radical changes in information technology. Therefore, to implement ERP system successfully appropriate and careful selection of ERP system which is adequate for company's objectives and environment must be considered. In this research, four types of changes expected by ERP implementation were suggested. Each type of changes was determined by desired level of changes in business process and information technology.

  • Needs of automation and computerization in the construction industry has been recognized but the implementation of e-business solutions with project management systems has not been fully explored. In order to cope with different management practices in home office and project sites, integration of two popular systems, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Project Management System (PMS) is essential. The objective of this study is to find ways to functionally and systematically integrate ERP and PMS. With the integration of ERP and PMS, a project will be managed much more efficiently and effectively. It is expected that this study will benefit system integrators and help them to understand construction management processes and integrate the solutions with minimized programming work.
