The purpose of this study was to understand the adult day care as a place for the elders and adults and to develop an initial understanding of the programs and their participants for adult day care for the cognitively-impaired in the U.S.A. The data was collected from 13 Adult Day Care Centers(ADC), and 318 participants from six Adult Day Care Centers from 2001 to 2002 by personal interview and the documents about the participants and their family and caregivers. Participants used ADC program average 8.15 hours In weekdays, 3 days per week. ADC programs provided primarily lunch and snack, transportation, personal care, professional health care, occupational.speech physical therapies, rehabilitation, and respite care. Participants'caregivers were mainly daughters and wives. It is the hope of this study to provide design and care professionals with a first draft of a ″sense-making″template by which they may understand adult day care in a systemic manner and engage in meaningful results as to what this place type could and should be.
The purposes of this research are to find out the standards which mothers consider seriously when choosing a day care center and mother's perception for the quality criteria of day care center, and to estimate the differences of these according to region. The sample consisted of 568 mothers with children using day care center located at the city of Taegu and Dalsung Gun. Collected data were analyzed by frequency, Percentage, chi-square, t-test, chronbach's $\alpha$. The results are summerized as follows : 1. In mother's perception for the quality criteria of day care center, the mothers living in the large city perceived more importantly in staff qualifications, administration - evaluation, staff- parent/staff- child interaction, curriculum, staffing, physical environment nutrition, health and safty than mothers in rural community. 2. In the importance classified by domains of the quality criteria of day care center, there were statistically significant differences according to the variable of region in staff qualifications, staff-parent/staff-child interaction, curriculum, staffing, physical environment 3. Given the present situations (income, transportation, location of workplace, etc.), when mothers choose a day care center, generally, staff-parent/staff-child interaction was the most important factor. And according to region, the distance to workplace or home was the most important factor in the case of mothers living in the large city, on the other hand, staff-parent/staff-chad interaction was the most important factor in the case of mothers living in rural community when mothers choose an ideal day care center, generally staff-parent/staff-chad interaction was the most important selection standard, and there were not remarkable differences according to region.
The purpose of this study is to get the data on the day-care type of the employed mothers in urban area and to make it improve the day care service program. I classified day care type into four classes accoding to existing one. And we surveyed 401 employed mothers with the child under age of six who lived at Seoul. the major results were as follows; 1) Most of employed mothers felt the burden of day care expenses and payed it of their own earning 2) The common type of day care is 'by family' and the users of this type more satisfied with the condition than any other types. 3) the difficulty of day care is that can't apply the tool and materials sufficiently, except day care center, 4) The reason that they use day care center or not is thier family. 5) Accoding to child age, family composition, educational level, job, income level, employed mothers choose day care type differently. So I suggest the social support for the employed mothers.
According as the population has been having an advanced age, several problems which is due to the physical, spiritual, social and chronic diseases of the aged are occurred. And the necessity of domiciliary care or regional social facilities has come to offer a protection, care and medical services to them. Therefore, this study aims to represent the architectural data of a day-care center through comparative analysis with a foreign one, recognizing the necessity of the day-care center as a part of domiciliary care facilities As the method of this study, the concept and type of day-care services were founded with the operational realities. And the spatial composition of the present condition was investigated and analyzed.
The main purpose of this study was to examine the main and interaction effects of inhibition, day-care experiences and mothers' controlling child-rearing behavior on young children's social withdrawal in peer situations. A total of 62 young children(34 boys; 28girls) enrolled in day-care center and their mothers participated in this study. Data on child inhibition and parenting were gathered via questionnaires whereas the quality of day-care and social withdrawal were observed in the day-care center. As results, the quality of day-care and mothers' controlling child-rearing behavior were negatively related to social withdrawal. Further, both day-care entry age and the quality of day-care were served as an intervening variables between child inhibition and social withdrawal.

Methods: The study 181 teachers working at national/public or child day care centers certified by Seoul Metropolitan government in Seoul, South Korea. Data from September to October 2021, and emotional labor, job stress, ego resilience, stress resilience, and depression. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The average depression of child day care center's teachers 8.52±7.58 out of 60 points, and the depression group (above 21 points) was 9.4%. Depression in child day care center's teachers was positively correlated with job stress (r=.42, p<.001) and negatively correlated with ego resilience and stress resilience (r=-.55, p<.001). Factors affecting depression of child day care center's teachers were found to be job stress (p=0.005), ego resilience (p<.001), stress resilience (p=0.031) and the explanatory power of these variables was 39%. This study was conducted to investigate the dietary behavior of day-care center teachers and their meal attitudes during meal time in Jeonju area. Self administered questionnaires were collected from 266 day-care center teachers who worked in a national(public) or private day-care center. The Statistical data analysis was conducted using SPSS v. 12.0. All subjects were women, and 64.7% were married(p<0.001), over more than 60% were junior college graduates(p<0.05), and 73.7% had salaries greater than 1,000,000 won(p<0.001). The breakfast skipping ratio of the subjects was very high, and about 66.5% of the respondents had irregular meals. The snack intake ratios of the subjects in private day-care centers were higher than the subjects in national(public) day-care centers(p<0.001). Approximately 56% of the subjects responded that education about eating is very important for providing balanced nutrition to young children. About 84% of subjects had no experience with the continuing-education program for teachers(p<0.01), and they wanted to know more about balanced nutrition. The meal attitude education score during meal time was $4.53{\pm}0.36$. The relationship between meal attitude education and the dietary behavior of day-care teachers was significantly different based on the "frequency of overeating"(p<0.05) and "self-recognition of eating habit"(p<0.05). These findings suggest that a nutrition education program for day-care center teachers should be developed so that they can effectively manage meal attitude education for young children and provide good nutrition for themselves.
Purpose : This study highlights the importance of occupational therapy at adult day care centers by examining the current state of this therapy at these centers. Methods : Data on 1,527 adult day care centers in South Korea were retrieved from a long-term care insurance site for the elderly and were statistically processed. Results : Of these centers, 1,331 (87.2 %) were cognitive activity-oriented, 37 (2.4 %) were exclusively for dementia treatment, and 159 were nonspecialized centers (10.4 %). A second finding was that 294 (19.3 %) of the centers operated occupational therapy programs. Third, only 40 occupational therapists (2.6 %) were working at one of these 1,527 care centers nationwide. Fourth, the occupational therapy programs comprised 4.91 ± 3.93 cognitive enhancement programs per center, 2.58 ± 2.26 training assistance programs per center, and other programs 2.56 ± 2.58 per center. Fifth, a regional comparison of the operation of occupational therapy programs at these centers showed a statistically significant difference in the number of programs between Seoul and other regions. Conclusion : Although most adult day care centers currently deliver cognitive enhancement programs, they show a low employment rate of occupational therapists. Therefore, additional research involving workers at adult day care centers is required to investigate perceptions and the necessity of occupational therapy.
