  • Algebraic spectral subspaces were introduced by Johnson and Sinclair via a transnite sequence of spaces. Laursen simplified the definition of algebraic spectral subspace. Algebraic spectral subspaces are useful in automatic continuity theory of intertwining linear operators on Banach spaces. In this paper, we characterize algebraic spectral subspaces of operators with finite ascent. From this characterization we show that if T is a generalized scalar operator, then T has finite ascent.

  • This study examines the effects of information and communication technologies on individual performance. The literature has paid a considerable amount of attention to social influence as a determinant of individual behavior. We combine task-technology fit with concepts from adaptive structuration theory to specify social influence. In our model, we suggest that individuals should receive support from proper social construction to have additional performance improvement. Empirical data from 317 individuals across 43 teams in 10 companies is used to assess the theoretical model. Our theoretical model received support from the data.

  • In this paper, the problem of determining the optimal car-deriving strategy has been examined. In order to find the optimal driving strategy, we have modified a method based on measure theory. Further, we demonstrate that the modified method is an efficient and practical algorithm for dealing with optimal control problems in a canonical formulation.

  • For a ring R with 1, the higher K-theory of Quillen is defined by the higher homotopy groups of the plus construction of the general linear group of R. On the other hand, the Volodin K-theory is defined by the higher homotopy groups of the Volodin space. In this paper we show that these two K-theories are equivalent. We show that the Volodin space is a homotopy fiber of the acyclic map from BGL(R) to its plus construction.

  • This paper discusses approximation modelling of discrete-time linear time-varying system(LTVS). The wavelet theory and genetic algorithm are considered as a tool for representing and approximating a LTVS. The joint time-frequency properties of wave analysis are appropriate for describing the LTVS. Simulation results is included to illustrate the potential application of the technique.

  • In this paper, a class of delayed epidemic model with diffusion is investigated. By analyzing the associated characteristic transcendental equation, its linear stability is investigated and Hopf bifurcation is demonstrated. Some explicit formulae determining the stability and the direction of the Hopf bifurcation periodic solutions bifurcating from Hopf bifurcations are obtained by using the normal form theory and center manifold theory. Some numerical simulation are also carried out to support our analytical findings. Finally, biological explanations and main conclusions are given.

  • Random walks as specia Markov stochastic processes have received particular attention in recent years. Not only the applicability of the theory already developed but also its extension within the frame work of probability measures on algebraic-topological structures such as semigroups, groups and linear spaces became a new challenge for research work in the field. At the same time new insights into classical problems were obtained which in various cases lead to a more efficient presentation of the subject. Consequently the teaching of random walks at all levels should profit from the recent development.

  • In this paper, the intrinsic birefringence and Faraday rotation of the single mode optical fiber have been investigated. On the analysis, the optical fiber has been modeled as a linear retarder and the intrinsic linear retardation of the fiber is approximatly found to be 2.57 deg/m from the measurement. Faraday ratation was analyzed as perturbation theory and Jones matrix.

  • This paper is a natural continuation of [2], [3], [4] and [5]. Localization techniques for modular lattices are developed. These techniques are applied to study liftings of linear order types from quotient lattices and to find Г-dense sets in certain lattices without Г-deviation in the sense of [4], where Г is a set of indecomposable linear order types.

  • In this paper influences of disturbances and Modeling errors are qualitatively for the linear approximation model of turret servo system, and then LQG/LTR Control theory is applied to linear approximation model in order to design a controller which satisfies robustneas/stability for the modeling errors. Finally the performance and robustness of designed controller for the given plant are verified through the simulation.
