The purpose of this study is to provide basic data to improve the working environment of industrial security workers by analyzing the effects of organizational fairness of workers in industrial security work on silence in workplace and will to adhere to security policy. The data used in this study consisted of a total of 190 respondents. Statistical analysis of correlation and multiple regression analysis was performed using the SPSS 18.0 statistical program, The results of the study are as follows. First, it can be seen that the more silent the workers in the industrial security work are not being treated fairly, the higher the silence in the workplace. Second, the factors of distribution and interaction fairness affect the will to comply with the security policy, so fair distribution and fair treatment of the compensation can increase the willingness of the industrial security worker to adhere to the security policy. Third, it was found that the dominant silent factor influenced the will to adhere to the security policy, and the more the silence about the organization and its job, the lower the will to adhere to the security policy. The results of this study show that organizational fairness and silence in the workplace directly and indirectly influence the willingness to adhere to the security policy.

Active construction work zones will result in longer travel time and/or longer travel distances for road users because of reduced speed limits and/or detours. This results in increased fuel consumption and increased emissions of harmful gases such as Carbon Monoxide (CO), Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), and Sulfur Oxides (SOx), which causes discomfort to the environment and road users around the work zone. The impact of such emissions should be considered while designing work zones or determining the number of days the roadway will be allowed to be closed partially or fully. This study develops a methodology to compute additional road user costs associated with such work zones. To achieve this goal, a) an extensive literature review is conducted, b) a framework to compute emission cost is developed, c) emission rates are computed for all counties (95) of the state of Tennessee, and d) a case study is conducted to demonstrate the use of the framework to estimate the additional impact of emission because of the work zone. For the case study conducted, the emission cost was computed to be $10,653.60 for the duration of the project. State DOTs can account for such road user costs while selecting contractors using A+B bidding. Accounting for such impact of emission will also indicate the agency's willingness to consider sustainability as a part of the business practices.
Recently, there is a growing interest in housing policy to prepare for the aging society. The purpose of this study is exploring the factors that explain housing consumption and adjustment of pre-retirees after retirement. 1,351 samples were collected from A bank and analyzed. There categories of housing consumption adjustment were considered including downsizing, maintain, and upsizing. Gender, educational level, housing size, housing type, asset size, and willingness to work after retirement were examined to see if they can explain the housing consumption adjustment of pre-retirees using orderd- probit model. The finding of this study is that housing size, asset size, and willingness to work after retirement statistically significantly explain the housing consumption adjustment. At specific, firstly, if the current size of the housing is relatively large, it is highly likely to downsize housing after retirement. Second, pre-retiree whose assets exceeded 1 billion won were more likely to scale up housing than assets of over 300 million to less than 500 million won. Lastly, unless there is absolutely no willingness to work after retirement, it is indicated that it intends to up-sizing consumption rather than down-sizing adjustment. The results of this study can provide useful information for the housing policy in order to prepare for the (post) aged society.
This study examined the relationship structure among personal and social cognitive factors contributing to professional help-seeking decisions to relieve distress of those in low-income, then suggested an appropriate model to inform knowledge for better social work practice. Using data of a purposive sampling from 331 low-income people, covariance structural analyses were conducted in two stages of model exploration, one for TPB model and another for its extended model including the level of distress, family support, and willingness. As results, in the path analyses with the observed variables of the basic components of the TPB, subjective norm showed the strongest effect on the intention, following by attitudes towards help-seeking, then behavioral control the least; in turn both the intention, positively, and behavioral control, negatively, contributed to help-seeking decisions. In the second stage of the path analyses with the extended model of the TPB, each of distress and family support demonstrated direct positive effect on each of attitudes, subjective norm, and behavioral control; each of the attitudes, subjective norm, and behavioral control showed positive effect on both intention and willingness; in turn, while intention showed strong positive effect on help-seeking decisions, willingness had no significant effect and behavioral control had negative effect on decisions. There were significant indirect effects of behavioral control on intention through willingness and of willingness on decisions through intention. These results suggested that the TPB model is useful for modeling help-seeking decisions through personal and social cognitions, especially the significance of subjective norm implied the importance of social cognition for the people in low-income with distress. Further, it was implied that the extended model needs to address particularity of those people in low-income and the mechanism shown by behavioral control and willingness implied the importance of practicing respect for the client's autonomy and will for self-support in social work practice.
This study surveyed 413 small business owners who experienced closure to see how the loss perception experienced by small business owners affects their comeback through fear of failure. The analysis results are as follows. First, the larger the received loss of financial capital, market capital, and social capital, the greater the fear of failure. Second, the greater the fear of failure, the less willingness to re-start-up, but it did not affect the willingness to work. Third, perceived loss of financial capital, market capital, and social capital grew fear of failure, which negatively affected the willingness to re-start. However, as for the willingness to work, only the perception of loss to market competitiveness strengthened the willingness to work through fear of failure. This suggests that if you think you are out of business due to market competitiveness, you are more likely to choose to get a job than to start a business. Fourth, those with higher entrepreneurial self-efficiency had less effect of perceived loss on fair of failure than those with lower entrepreneurial loss. In other words, it can be seen that a person with high entrepreneurial self-efficiency is likely to start-up. It is noteworthy that despite the tendency to fail due to market competition and lack of understanding of risks, small business operators were most aware of the loss of social capital. This is presumed to have had the greatest impact on fear of failure because small business owners try to receive funding or business revitalization support through social networks such as acquaintances and relatives. Based on the above results, this study requires sufficient market research to secure a competitive advantage when preparing for start-ups through policy practice suggestions, and suggests ways to reduce financial loss through the establishment of sophisticated business plans.

Background : Willingness to satisfy patients(WSP) among nurses is essential to promoting patient satisfaction which is a critical component in the quality of health care and its outcomes. This study was carried out to empirically find out the affecting factors of WSP among nurses in hospital settings. Methods : The model contains seven job relating determinants and two intervening variables as follows: i) job relating variables of professional status, task requirements, pay, physician-nurse interaction, nurse-nurse interaction, organizational policies, and autonomy, ii) intervening variables of job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Data were collected from 205 nurses in two general hospitals owned by one foundation located in Pusan, Korea, using a structured and self-administered questionnaire. Results : The major results were as follows: First, the results of ANOVA on WPS by personal characteristics showed a statistically significant relationships between WPS and hierarchical orders(p<.01) ana tenure(p<.10). Comparing with the lower orders and shorter tenure, the higher orders and the longer tenure showed better WPS. Second, the results of simple correlation analysis between WPS and determinants and intervening variables showed the following variables, in order of importance, were statistically significant(p<.01): work satisfaction(+), organizational commitment(+), task requirements(+), nurse-interaction(+), professional status(+), physician-nurse interaction(+). Third, the results of path analysis showed that two intervening variables of job satisfaction and organizational commitment, and three determinants of task requirements, professional status, and nurse-nurse interaction had a positively significant direct effect to WPS. Conclusion : The results suggest that nurses who are more satisfied with task requirements, status, nurse-nurse interaction, overall job satisfaction, and organizational commitment, will behave in ways that patients find more satisfied.

This study conducted to examine the effects of a GMO education(n=108 university students). Although the experience of encountering GMO was 84.3%, awareness was moderate or lower for 76.9%, 62% were unaware of GMO labeling, and 44.4% had no previous education on GMO. After the education, GMO positive perceptions, specifically in terms of improving work efficiency(p<0.05), negative perception(p<0.001), and GMO knowledge increased significantly(p<0.05). The need for expanding GMO labeling (p<0.05) and adjust to 0.9%(exclusion criteria) for labeling(p<0.001) increased significantly. Moreover, there was a significant increase in the need and willingness to accept a price increase for the full labeling system(p<0.01), with a significant increase in the willingness to pay up to 20%(p<0.05). The pre-contemplation stage showed a significant decrease(p<0.001). The preparation and behavior and maintenance stage showed a significant increase(p<0.001). Based on these findings, it is suggested that GMO education be implemented to provide accurate information and emphasize the necessity of consumers' right to know and choose through the implementation of the full labeling system of GM foods.
In this study, we examined the effects of University adaptation on career adaptation through self-leadership and learning commitment, and identified the regulatory effects of demographic characteristics (sex, grade, grade level, and willingness to work). To this end, we analyzed the data for 289 college students. The results of the study are as follows. First, adaptation to University life has a significant impact on learning commitment and self-leadership. However, adaptation to University life has an indirect effect on learning commitment and self-leadership rather than directly affecting career adaptation. Second, demographic characteristics have a regulatory effect on the path through which University adaptation affects career adaptation through self-leadership and learning commitment. The factors that were regulated were age, grade, and willingness to work. Therefore, in order to adapt to university life and adapt to career, we developed a program to improve self-leadership and learning commitment, and suggested that customized guidance is needed considering the differences in personal characteristics such as gender and academic background in university life and career counseling.

This study uses qualitative data to examine the dynamics and barriers of the delayed family formation phenomenon among the never-married professionals in Korea. The data was drawn from focus groups of 14 never-married professionals aged 28 through 40. The investigation depicts several dimensions of the circumstances of never-married professionals that have not garnered much attention in the literature. This research provides initial evidence of critical influences within the socio-cultural contexts of the participants' dating behaviors as well as the willingness to many. Two different realities, based on gender, were discovered: both male and female voluntarily delayed marriage to pursue their career, education and success. As both reached their career goals, however, male participants experienced a rise in their value as a marriage prospect whereas females experienced decreased value as a marriage prospect. Hence, neo-traditional familism was the dominant value among the participants, but it also functioned as a major barrier to family formation because in the present value system, female professionals, must still struggle with the dual burdens of work and family management.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to research caregiver trainees, and to understand the degree of subjective quality of life and internal and external locus control, and to examine the relationships between these variables. Method: The subjects of the research were 348 trainees at a Jeonju city caregiver training center. The subjective quality of life and the characteristics of locus control were used as measuring tools. The collected data was analyzed by the SAS 9.1 program. Result: The degree of subjective quality of life was significantly different according to the general characteristics of age (F=2.83, p=0.02), marital status (F=3.34, p=0.01), and willingness to work (F=3.94, p=0.05). The degree of internal locus control was significantly different according to the general characteristic of marital status (F=3.0 p=0.01). External locus control was significantly different according to the general characteristics of age (F=9.77, p=0.00), occupation (F=2.91, p=0.01), educational level (F=9.65, p=0.00), monthly income (F=3.81, p=0.00), educational institution (F=2.06, p=0.04), educational experience (F=4.15, p=0.00), and subjects willingness to work (t=8.71, p=0.00). A significant correlation was identified between the subjective quality of life and internal locus control (r=0.23, p=0.0001). Conclusion: A significant correlation was shown between subjective quality of life and internal locus control of the caregiver trainees.
