  • Upper wall-lower frame(complex building) can be divided into three partition, namely, upper wall, lower frame, and transfer system which link two partitions. The purpose of this study is to investigate the elasto-plastic response characteristics of structures with variation in the stories of lower frame of complex buildings. The conclusions of this study was following; 1) In the push-over analysis for vertically irregular building, the distribution of lateral forces is judged which consider the effects of higher mode. 2) In proportion as the stories of lower frame increase inter-story displacement of lower frame increased, but that of upper wall decreased. 3) The appearance of yielding hinge with variations in the lower stories of complex buildings differed in lower frame of each model, but was almost the same in upper wall.

  • The Operational Deflection Shape designates the motion pattern by which a structure vibrates under a specific operating condition. Modal Analysis is usually tested under test bench, but Operational Deflection Shape can be measured directly under real operating condition. It provide useful information for trouble-shooting and aid understanding and evaluation of the absolute dynamic behaviour of a machine or component. In this paper, It is analysed Excavator Upper Frame using Operating Deflection Shape.

  • The natural period calculation equations specified in the current building code are empirical formulas that depend on height and material type of the structure. Building with the upper wall and lower frame type is a unique structure which composed of two different structural system This type of structure needs either the deep transfer girder or the thick transfer plate that brings the sudden change of stiffness and mass. Therefore the natural period equations recommended by the current code can not be applied directly. In this study the natural period of building with typical plan obtained by dynamci analysis is compared with that of various codes. Ad approximate estimation equation for the natural period of building with the upper wall and lower frame type obtained by regression analysis is recommended. by the current code can not be applied directly. • The purposes of this study were to classify the upper half of body somatotype and analyze the characteristics of each somatotype. The subjects of survey were 272 elementary school boys of 11 to 12 years old living in Pusan and Kyungsangnam-do. Datas were collected through 36 anthropometric measurements and 7 photographic measurements. They were analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis and analysis of variance. The results of the study were as follows : 1. According to the factor analysis. seven factors were extracted from measurements of the upper half of body and those factors comprised 79.62% of total variance. Specially factor 1 was characterized sectional size and factor 2 was characterized longitudinal size comprised 58.83% of total variance. 2. According to the cluster analysis, the upper half of body somatotype was classified four types : Boys in type 1 had quite high stature and big frame, broadest and most sloping shoulders, flattest chest and belly, quite protruded shoulder blades boys in type 2 had quite short stature and small frame, quite broad and most rising shoulder, most protruded belly, quite protruded shoulder blades boys in type 3 had shortest stature, smallest frame, narrowest and quite rising shoulders, most protruded chest, flattest shoulder blade and quite flat belly : boys in type 4 had highest stature, biggest frame, most protruded shoulder blades and quite protruded chest and belly.

  • This research purposed to study a structural effect on curtailment of upper shear wall in frame-shear wall structures, using MIDAS-Gen. In this study, the analysis variables were the story number of curtailment of upper shear wall, change of column section in every 2 stories and change of shear wall thickness in every 2 stories. In order to analyse a structural effect on curtailment of upper shear wall in frame-shear wall structures, we studied the distribution of shear force and overturning moment according to curtailment of shear wall, the inflection point of shear wall from shear force/overturning moment and the lateral stiffness. The results of study proposed the quantitative influence that the curtailment of upper shear wall in frame-shear wall structures had on the structural performance such as lateral stiffness. Furthermore, it is verified that the results of study can be very helpful in catching the materials on the structure design for a reasonable frame-shear wall system.

  • Hybrid building structure, which comprise both the residential and commercial spaces in a building, are composed of upper shear-walls and lower frames. In these hybrid structures, the structural analysis and design of transfer systems which link upper-wall and lower-frame are crucial. The available structural design methods for the transfer girder are performed by taking a prototype structure, and the details of transfer girder based on these design methods are presented and compared with regard to the dimensions and amount of reinforcements.

  • According to the 「Guidelines of Structural Design for Piloti Building」 of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (2018), the natural period of middle and low rise building of upper-walled lower frame type, such as the domestic multiplex house in piloti style, is suggested for safety to apply the existing code formula of the wall structure. However, the current code formula of the wall structure was provided based on actual measurement of high-rise wall-type structures that mainly exhibit bending behavior. So it is considered that it is not suitable for a piloti-type house with four stories or less, where the wall behaves in shear. See also Park et al. (2000) confirmed that the effect of the lower frame part is greater than that of the upper wall part in the natural period of complex structures with 10 or more floors through analytical studies. Therefore, in this study, in order to examine the effect of the lower frame on the natural period of the middle and low-rise piloti structure, the estimation of natural period by the finite element analysis, approximation formula and ccurrent code formula was performed for the target structures with the shear and flexural stiffness of the upper wall and the shear stiffness of the lower frame as variables. As result, it was found that the change in the shear stiffness of the lower frame had a greater effect on the natural period of the whole building than the change in the bending or shear stiffness of the upper wall.

  • As a flexible supporting structure, the anchoring frame structure is widely adopted to support multistage slopes in high earthquake-intensity area for its effectiveness and practicality. The previous study indicates that the anchor of anchoring frame structure is the most likely to be damaged during earthquakes. It is crucial to determine the pull-out capacity of anchor against seismic force for the seismic design of anchoring frame structure. In this study, an analytical model of a three-stage slope supported by anchoring frame structure is established, and the upper bound method of limit analysis is applied to deduce the seismic anchor force of anchoring frame structure. The pull-out capacity of anchor against seismic force of anchoring frame structure at each stage is obtained by computer programming. The proposed method is proved to be reasonable and effective compared with the existing published solution. Besides, the influence of main parameters on the pull-out capacity of anchor against seismic force is analyzed to provide some recommendations for the seismic design of anchoring frame structure.

  • As using of insulating material of plastic to industrial electric field, thermoset has been gradually substituted for thermoplastic. But changing the material with crystalline has some problem, which is strength or warpage, Especially getting a strength to endure inner pressure is necessary when arc is occurred. So we use the material that is composed of glass fiber to compensate strength. By the way as the reinforced glass-fiber material is used in injection molding, unstableness of dimension is appeared frequently and it is difficult to know warpage pattern. So this paper will be contributed to know warpage pattern of mold product that is upper frame of magnetic contactor caused by glass-fiber orientation with fixed gate-system, when glass-fiber reinforced material with classification of poly-amide is used in injection molding.

  • In this paper we show that for each finite frame for a Hilbert space there are two orthonormal elements related to the optimal lower and upper bounds of the frame. Based on this we show that an orthonormal basis is naturally associated with every finite frame. We then analyze the relationship between such an orthonormal basis and the given finite frame.
