  • Purpose: To analyze characteristics and trend of articles published in Journal of East-West Nursing Research. Methods: The 133 articles published from 1997-2008 were reviewed using a structured form. The form included items on the topics, subjects, study designs, sample size calculation, ethical consideration, and research funds. Data were summarized using descriptive statistics. Results: Oriental studies accounted for 42.9% of the 133 articles. The subjects were general population (32.3%), chronically-ill patients (17.3%), and nurses (12%). The most common design was survey (57.2%). Of the 32 experimental studies, 65.6% were associated with oriental nursing intervention. Many studies (66.2%) collected data using questionnaire. However, only two articles reported sample size calculation and 15.8% were performed after receiving written consent from the study participants. About 7% were studies were conducted with acquired research funds. Conclusions: Journal of East-West Nursing Research has appropriately published the studies about both oriental and Western nursing. However, application of scientific and rigorous research methodologies needs to be emphasized.

  • The fashion industry has faced environmental, social, and ethical issues due to increased interest in ethical consumption. Numerous ethical studies have been conducted in the fashion industry. This study looked at the current state of research by year, academic journal, and detail in major related papers published in Scopus, KCI and KCI between 2009 and 2019. Ethical fashion studies began to appear in 2009 and were concentrated in certain academic journals and focused on fashion marketing and fashion design. Topics in ethical fashion were terms such as sustainable, eco-friendly, up-cycling, recycling, eco, zero-waist, and organic. In ethical fashion studies, environmental studies were conducted most often; in addition, the terms used along with ethical fashion tend to be frequently used for each particular major. Looking at key words used in research by period, the study showed that research was most diverse between 2016 and 2019. In particular, environmental and social issues of ethical fashion and convergence with animal protection, new distribution, science and technology sectors were newly added between 2016 and 2019. This study used text mining and network analysis to understand the overall trends of ethical fashion studies in Korea. In conclusion it is important to realize the relationship between the main words along with the current status analysis.

  • This study aims to analyze the research trend of cultural policy-related papers based on 832 key words among 186 whole articles in the Journal of Cultural Policy by the Korea Culture & Tourism Institute from October 2008 to January 2017. The analysis was performed using a big data analysis technique called the Semantic Network Analysis. The Semantic Network Analysis consists of frequency analysis, density analysis, centrality analysis including degree centrality, betweenness centrality, and eigenvector centrality. Lastly, the study shows a figure visualizing the results of the centrality analysis through Netdraw program. The most frequently exposed key words were 'culture', 'cultural policy/administration', 'cultural industry/cultural content', 'policy', 'creative industry', in the order. The key word 'culture' was ranked as the first in all the analysis of degree centrality, betweenness centrality and eigenvector centrality, followed by 'policy' and 'cultural policy/administraion'. The key word 'cultural industry/cultural content' with very high frequency recorded high points in degree centrality and eigenvector centrality, but showed relatively low points in betweenness centrality.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to review and summarize the trend of nursing research on image of nurses performed in Korea and to get the preliminary data for future research. Method: This study queried 18 Korean studies performed from 1990 to 2002, selected by two online databases surfing. The studies were analyzed in terms of several standards Lee, Myung Ha(1996) suggested in her study. Result: (1) The first study on image of nursing performed at 1992. (2) 33.4% of the studies included in this analysis were performed for a thesis for a degree, 61.2% hired non-experimental research design, and only 5.6% selected study sample by simple random sampling. (3) Almost studies used the research instruments developed by Korean nursing scientist and collected research data with questionnaires. (4) The variety variables were analyzed to identify the relationship between image of nurses and the variables. (5) 88.9% of the studies included in this analysis included the suggestions for future study. Conclusion: The research findings were summarized and strategic planning for future study on image of nurses were discussed.

  • Hydrologic-topographical parameters were extracted using GIS. The use of GIS is more effective and exact than the execution by person. And the purpose of this paper is to extract more efficient size of grid for DEM analysis by applying GIS technology. As a result, when the grid size is less than $100m{\times}100m$ the trend of extracted parameters is similar but when the grid size is over $100m{\times}100m$ the trend of extraction parameters is dispersive. Therefore, it is appropriate to extract hydrologic-topographical parameters the grid size of $100m{\times}100m$ in DEM analysis.

  • This study analyzed the trend of researches regarding parenting involvement of fathers with early childhood children in terms of research period, research content and research method. Forty master's thesis and doctoral dissertation and 22 articles were selected for final analysis. Collected data were analyzed using frequency and percentage ratio. The results of this study showed that research on the parenting involvement of fathers has been rapidly increased since 2005. From the perspective of research content, studies dealing with parenting involvement of fathers as an independent variable focused on early children and social and emotional variables. Most of studies dealing with parenting involvement of fathers as an dependent variable consistently dealt with demographic variables. From the perspective of research method, most researches were quantitative and non-experimental. No research was done using qualitative method and all researches except one were done using non-experimental method. The number of participants in most researches were over 100 and less than 400. Most researches used participants from one particular district. Research instruments validated in Korea were used in most researches. These results were discussed with suggestions for further study.

  • This study aimed to explore research on bibliometric features of cannabis by applying scientometric analysis method, and to approach experimental research evaluation based on it. A total of 30,352 articles on cannabis published since 2001 from SCOPUS were analyzed using KnowledgeMatrix Plus and VOSviewer software. Results showed differences in research activities in countries where cannabis is legalized (Canada, the United States, the Netherlands) and Asian countries where its use is illegal. Related to medical cannabis, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of studies on pain, epilepsy, seizures and brain diseases such as multiple sclerosis. In the field of basic research, the number of pharmacological studies of cannabis on the cannabinoid type 1 receptor signaling pathway and inflammation and obesity has increased significantly. Subsequent experimental studies have compared the anti-inflammatory effects of four parts of Korean cannabis such as root, stem, leaf, and bark. Consistent with the predicted results of the scientometric analysis, all parts of C. sativa showed inhibitory effects on COX-2, NO/iNOS and TNF-α expression in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. These attempts provide an experimental research approach based on scientometric assessment.
