Analysis of Task Commitment Types of Science Learning in High School Students' Biology Classification

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze task commitment types of science learning in high school students' biology classification. Thirty students were selected as the representatives of five task commitment types according to task commitment type inventory scores. They participated in think-aloud biology classification task. To analyze the procedural characteristics of task commitment, a coding scheme and think-aloud task were developed. Characteristics of respective task commitment types were identified from the result of the think-aloud protocol coding analysis. They are TGC(task goal commitment) type, LGC(low goal commitment) type, CC(conditional commitment) type, SC(suspended commitment) type, and DC(delayed commitment) type. Findings gained from this study are expected to serve as the foundation of task commitment enhancement strategies and as the information on the characteristics of each task commitment type. Also, future studies are required to investigate the commitment-related properties not only in biology classification but also in other science learning situations.

Development of An Inventory to Classify Task Commitment Type in Science Learning and Its Application to Classify Students' Types

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an inventory to classify task commitment types of science learning and to classify highschool students' task commitment types. Firstly, inventory questions were designed following the literature analysis on the task commitment components which involve self confidence, high goal setting, and focused attention. Prototype inventory underwent the content validity test, pilot test, and reliability test. Through these steps, final inventory was input to 462 high school students and underwent the factor analysis and cluster analysis. Factor analysis confirmed three components of task commitment as the three factors of inventory questions. In order to find how many clusters exist, factors of developed inventory became new variables. Each factor's factor mean was calculated and served as the new variable of the cluster analysis. Cluster analysis extracted five clusters as task commitment types. The 5 clusters were suggested by the agglomarative schedule and dendrogram gained from a hierarchical cluster analysis with the setting of the Ward algorithm and Squared Euclidean distance. Based on the factor mean score, traits of each cluster could be drawn out. Inventory developed by this study is expected to be used to identify student commitment types and assess the effectiveness of task commitment enhancement programs.

과업 상호의존성과 정서적 조직몰입이 구성원의 양방향 커뮤니케이션과 지식공유에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Task Interdependence and Emotional Commitment on Employees' Two-way Communication and Their Knowledge Sharing)

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of two-way communication and knowledge sharing on the task performance of employees in the interdependent task structure in organizations. Based on the theories of social interdependence and organizational commitment, this study hypothesized the effects of task interdependency and emotional commitment on two-way communication and knowledge sharing, followed by the effects of these variables on the task performance of employees. Design/methodology/approach Survey results show that task interdependence and emotional commitment have positive effects on the degree of two-way communication and knowledge sharing. Two-way communication also has a positive impact on knowledge sharing, and knowledge sharing also improved the task performance of members. However, the relationship between two-way communication and task performance shows no significant impact. Findings Theoretically, this study is meaningful in that the process of task interdependence in relation to emotional commitment leading to task performance is theorized. In practice, this research suggests it is important to improve employees' two-way communication and knowledge sharing in order to lead to increase task performance in the interdependent task environment.

생물 분류 탐구에서 과제 집착의 인지적 모형 규명 (Investigation of Cognitive Model of Task Commitment on Biology Classification Inquiry)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 생물 분류 탐구에서 과제 집착의 인지적인 모형을 규명하는 것이다. 이를 위해 생명 과학 탐구에서 과제 집착에 대한 다양한 문헌들을 분석하여 과제 집착에 대한 가설적인 인지적 모형을 고안하였다. 이 후, 고안한 모형의 규명을 위해 과제 집착의 분석을 위한 과제를 개발하고 사고 발성법과 회상적 면접법을 이용하여 연구 참여자의 프로토콜을 수집, 분석함으로써 생물 분류 탐구에서 과제 집착의 인지적 모형을 규명하였다. 연구 결과, 문헌 기반의 모형을 고안하고 프로토콜 분석을 통하여 규명한 과제 집착의 인지적 모형을 크게 과제 집착 유발, 과제 집착 강화, 과제 집착 유지의 세 단계의 과정으로 구성하였다. 과제 집착 유발 단계에서는 과제에 대한 관찰, 과제 관련 경험 표상, 탐구 예비 수행, 목표 평가의 하위과정으로 구성하였다. 과제 집착 강화 단계는 경험 기반 탐구 계획 설정 또는 경험 미기반 탐구 계획 설정, 적극적인 수행 및 소극적인 수행, 탐구 수행중 자기 평가, 가설 검증까지 반복적인 수행의 하위 과정으로 구성하였다. 과제 집착 유지 단계에서는 완료 후 피드백 수행, 자발적인 후속 탐구 수행의 하위 과정으로 구성하였다. 각 단계마다 과제 집착 구성 요소인 자신감, 목표설정, 주의집중이 변화하는 것으로 구성하였다. 위 연구 결과에 의해 생물 분류 탐구에서 과제 집착의 인지적 모형을 통해 생물 분류 탐구에서 과제 집착 향상을 위한 구체적인 교수-학습 전략을 구성하기 위한 기초 정보를 제공할 수 있으며 탐구과정에서 과제 집착의 단계적인 평가와 피드백 제시에 도움이 될 것이다.

과학영재학생의 학습동기와 과제집착력과의 관계 (The Relationship between Learning Motivation and Task Commitment of Science-Gifted)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 학습동기와 과제집착력의 관계를 살펴봄으로써 과제집착력에 영향을 주는 학습동기 요인을 찾는데 두고 있다. 과학영재학생으로 판별된 초등학교 4, 5학년 학생 30명을 대상으로 학습동기 검사와 과제집착력 검사를 실시하여 자료를 수집하였다. 자료분석은 상관 분석과 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 과학영재학생들의 학습동기와 과제집착력은 전체적으로 비슷한 수준을 보여주고 있으나 각 하위 요인별로 강점을 보이는 부분은 다르다고 할 수 있었다. 둘째, 학습동기와 과제집착력은 정적 상관을 보여 학습동기가 높을수록 과제집착력이 높다고 할 수 있었으며 학습동기는 과제집착력에 대해 49.3%의 유의미한 설명력을 가졌다. 특히 학습동기가 높을수록 과제 집착력의 하위요인인 책임감과 자기통제 요인이 높아진다고 할 수 있었다. 또한 학습동기 요인 중 자신감 요인이 과제집착력의 가장 많은 하위 요인과 정적 상관을 가지며 과제집착력에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 과제집착력을 향상시키기 위해 학습동기를 개발하는 것이 필요하며 학습동기 프로그램 중에서도 특히 과학영재학생들의 과제집착력 향상을 위해서는 자신감을 길러줄 필요가 있다는 것을 시사해준다.

유통·호텔 종사원의 팀에 대한 몰입의 선행요인과 결과요인에 관한 연구 (A Study of Precedence and Result Factors on Team Commitment on Distribution and Hotel Employees)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to identify team commitment affecting employees' innovative activities and factors affecting team commitment including empowerment by leaders and job enrichment factors. In other words, so as to explain outcome variables of innovative activities, this study aims to emphasize employees' attachment roles towards their groups within nomological network, and identify the motives encouraging employees' innovative activities. The research purpose is significant due to the realistic situation of hotel industry. The reason why innovative activities are important can be found in recent changes of business environment. Also, unlike other various studies on precedence factors encouraging employees' innovative activities, this study classified those precedence factors into job and leader characteristics, and it emphasized the importance of team commitment as the process that job and leader characteristics are connected to innovative activities. Research design, data and methodology - The survey for this study was conducted during October 6th ~ November 10th in 2014 to the employees who are working in 5-star hotels in Korea. As for the selection of hotels and sampling method, convenience sampling method was used to the employees in 5-star hotels. Self-report method was used in the survey, judging that the employees' characteristics would be relatively homogeneous. 311 questionnaires were distributed in total, and 275 reponses were collected. After excluding the missing and unreliable responses, 245 questionnaires were used in the research. SPSS and AMOS programs were used for the analysis. Results - First, empowering leadership had positive effects on hotel employees' team commitment. It indicates that hotel employees are more committed to their team when their leaders set examples, provide information, and involve employees in decision-making process. Second, as a result of the relationship analysis in task diversity, task significance, task identity and team commitment, task diversity and task significance had significant effect on team commitment, while task identity had no significant effect on team commitment. It indicates that team commitment is enhanced when the employees can conduct diverse types of jobs and get more opportunities to talk with the guests. Also, the repetition for the same jobs in hotel rooms and the space for preparing food and beverage do not lead to team commitment, even though the employees fulfill their duties to the end. Third, hotel employees' team commitment has positive effect on their innovative activities. It indicates that employees voluntarily conduct innovative activities when they are attached to their team and identifies themselves with the team. Conclusions - There are theoretical and practical implications in this study. First, in terms of the theoretical perspective, this study proposes structural framework in team commitment, and it identifies the psychological mechanism in team commitment from the aspect of social exchange, which resulted in identification of precedence factors related to team commitment. In addition, this study presents new possibilities for relevant studies about team commitment by examining the effect on team commitment when the importance of innovative activities is emphasized in recent business environment.

과학 영재의 과제집착력 특성 수준 측정을 위한 루브릭 개발 (Developing the Rubric for Measurement in Levels by Areas for the Characteristics of Task Commitment Shown in the Science Gifted)

  • 본 연구에서는 과학 영재의 정의적 특성으로 중요하게 언급되고 있는 과제집착력 특성의 영역별 수준을 측정할 수 있는 루브릭을 개발하여 영재 판별에 대한 함의 점을 제공하고자 하였다. 과학 영재들이 과제집착력을 갖고 활동한 경험을 분석하여 탐색한 과제집착력 특성을 기반으로 과제집착력 특성의 영역별 수준을 측정할 수 있는 루브릭을 개발하였다. 제작된 루브릭을 적용하여 과학 영재들이 원인이나 원리를 깊이 있게 탐구했던 경험을 기술한 내용에 나타난 과제집착력 특성의 영역별 수준을 측정해보았다. 개개인의 특징에 대해 구체적으로 기술하여 과학 영재의 과제집착력 특성에 대한 이해를 높이고자 하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 루브릭 형태의 측정 도구를 통해 학생들의 과제집착력을 효과적으로 측정해 볼 수 있다. 또한 루브릭을 학생들에게 적용할 때 그 수행 준거를 기반으로 학생의 특징에 대해 구체적으로 기술하는 것은 수준 판단의 근거가 되며, 그 학생의 과제집착력 특성에 대한 이해를 높일 수 있다.

중국 기업 근로자들의 고용불안정이 조직몰입과 이직의도에 미치는 영향: 갈등의 매개효과 (The Impact of Employment Insecurity on Organizational Commitment and Turnover Intention in Chinese Enterprises Workers: The Focusing on Mediation Effect of Organization Conflict)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of employment insecurity on organizational commitment and turnover intention, and mediating roles of conflict in Chinese enterprise workers. We examined the theoretical background and conducted an empirical study. The statistical analysis results revealed the following. First, employment insecurity has significant negative effects on organizational commitment and positive effects on turnover intention. Second, employment insecurity has significant positive effects on task and relationship conflicts. Third, task and relationship conflicts have positive significant effects on turnover intention. Fourth, intragroup conflicts (task and relationship conflicts) have partial mediating effects between employment insecurity and organizational commitment, and turnover intention, but task conflicts have no mediating effects between employment insecurity and organizational commitment. On the basis of the research findings, this paper discusses the theoretical and empirical implications of the research, and provides directions for future research.

간호사의 조직공정성, 임파워먼트가 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향: 직무만족과 조직몰입의 매개효과를 중심으로 (The Impact of Organizational Justice, Empowerment on the Nursing Task Performance of Nurses: Focused on the Mediating Effect of Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural model on the Nursing Task Performance of Hospital Nurses. Methods: Data collection was done by the 200 hospital nurses from May 1st to May 20th, 2013 in Seoul city. The sample variance-covariance matrix was analyzed using AMOS 19.0 and the maximum likelihood minimization function. The goodness of fit was evaluated using the SRMR, RMSEA and its 90% confidence interval, CFI, and TLI. Results: First, hospital nurses' organizational justice and empowerment was not found to have a significant direct effect on nursing task performance. Second, organizational justice and empowerment had a direct effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Third, organizational commitment was found to have a significant direct effect on nursing task performance. Forth, hospital nurses' empowerment was found to have a significant direct effect on nursing task performance. Conclusion: Nurses' nursing task performance was influenced by organizational justice, empowerment, and organizational commitment. In order to increase the degree of nursing task performance in hospital nurse, it is necessary to develop the nursing program and its application considering hospital nurses' organizational justice and empowerment and organizational commitment.

Role of Organizational Commitment on Work Performance in Distribution Department of AMCs

  • Purpose: The current study focused on work performance of distribution department of AMC (asset management company) industry in China, outlines the challenges faced by distribution employees of Chinese four biggest national AMCs, aiming to enhance the ability of Chinese national AMCs to succeed in the face of external challenges such as economic, social, and technological changes. Research design, data and methodology: This study adopted quantitative methods, questionnaire was collected from 248 general distribution department employees of four national AMCs of China, these employees are from the top 5 developed cities in China, and software Smart PLS 3.0 and SPSS 25 was applied to data analysis. Results: The result of this current study through Smart PLS 3.0 has revealed that the significant effect of affective commitment on contextual performance, affective commitment on task performance, continuance commitment on contextual performance, normative commitment on contextual performance, and effect of continuance commitment on task performance and normative commitment on task performance were found to be non-significant. Conclusions: According to the important role of distribution department, managers in China's national AMCs can leverage the study's findings to enhance organizational commitment among employees of distribution department, and further positively influences distribution department employees' work performance.
