  • As the XML is used as the standard format for information delivery and exchange in various fields, the SVG is frequently used as a user interface or expression tool for the embedded system like an internet based mobile phone. The SVG file must contain additional information specifying the structure of the document and it consumes more transmission time than the actual data sent. The SMETA(Svg transmission MEthod using Semantic meTAdata) system[9] is a study to reduce the size of the SVG file by partitioning the SVG file to a minimal size and assigning meaningful meta data to each portion of the data. In this paper, instead of the meta data exchange method for reducing the size of the file exchanged in the existing SMETA system, we studied an improved version of SMETA system that analyzes the data for each user in the server system and only transmits the data that a user needs. In addition, through our simulation, we verified that it provides better performance than the existing system even if encryption is used.

  • The use of ceramic inserts in hot extrusion dies offers significant technical and economic advantages over other forms of manufacture. These potential benefits can however only be realized by optimal design of the tools so that the ceramic inserts are not subjected to stresses that lead to their premature failure. In this paper, process simulation and stress analysis are thus combined during the design, and a data exchange program has been developed that enables optimal design of the dies taking into account the elastic deflections generated in shrink fitting the die inserts and that caused by the stresses generated in the process. The stress analysis of the dies is used to determine the stress conditions on the ceramic insert by considering contact and interference effects under both mechanical and thermal loads. The results are compared with the experimental ones for verification.

  • Purpose Interactive 3D visualization system through remote data transmission over heterogeneous network is growing due to the improvement of internet based real time streaming technology. Materials and Methods The current internet's IP layer has several weaknesses against IP spoofing or IP sniffing type of network attacks since it was developed for reliable packet exchange. In order to compensate the security issues with normal IP layer, we designed a remote medical visualization system, based on Virtual Private Network. Results Particularly in hospital, if there are many surgeons that need to receive the streaming information, too much load on the gateway can results in deficit of processing power and cause the delay. Conclusion End to end security through the network method would be required.

  • A comprehensive cycle simulation was developed to predict the performance of gasoline engine including intake and exhaust systems with variation of operating conditions and design factors. In this study, the gas exchange model, compression and expansion model, two-zone combustion model and heat transfer model were used. In order to confirm the feasibility of the simulation program, the calculated results were compared with experimental results. P-$\theta$ diagrams, I. M. E. P. and S. F. C by means of calculation showed acceptable quantitative agreement with the experimental data. Therefore, this program is particularly well adapted to indicating the direction of the optimal design and optimal operating conditions for gasoline engine.

  • This paper analyzes the characteristics of the power system of Jeju island in 2014, which has wind farms with the support of BESSs (Battery Energy Storage Systems). In the simulation, the electrical loads are predicted based on Korea Power Exchange's data and the wind turbines are considered with new installed plans within 2014. The situation that some wind farms are forced to disconnect from the grid instantaneously is considered. The BESSs are controlled by using SOC (State of Charge) and power smoothing control algorithm. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • The main purpose of this study is to find out the strengths and weaknesses of the application of BIM to the educational facilities. All the data information is drawn from the integrated design process which links various fields such as energy simulation, structure analyzation, and etc, and it is applied to the project combined as one data set. Moreover, we analyze the possible problems of the data exchange that can happen as collaborating with various fields while working on the project, and we present its solutions and the futher studies on this matter of a project.

  • XML makes it possible for data to be exchanged regradless of the data model in which it is represented or the platform on which it is stored, serving as a standard for data exchange format on the internet. Especially, it is natural to send XML data without DTD on the internet when XML is data-centric. Therefore it is needed to extract relational schema to store XML data efficiently, to optimize queries, and to publish data which have been stored in the relational database in the XML format. In this paper, we proposed a method to generate relational database in the XML documents without DTD and store XML data using upper/lower bound schema extraction technique for semistructured data. In extracting a lower bound schema, we especially show an efficient technique for creating relational schema by using simulation with is more advanced than the datalog method.

  • Defense M&S for weapons effectiveness is a realistic way to support virtual warfare similar to real warfare. As the war paradigm becomes platform-centric to network-centric, people try to utilize smartphones as the source of sensor, and command/control data in the simulation-based weapons effectiveness analysis. However, there have been limited researches on integrating smartphones into the weapon simulators, partly due to high modeling cost - modeling cost to accomodate client-server architecture, and re-engineering cost to adapt the simulator on various devices and platforms -, lack of efficient mechanisms to exchange large amount of simulation data, and low-level of security. In this paper, we design and implement Smartphone Adaptor to utilize smartphones for the simulationbased weapons effectiveness analysis. Smartphone Adaptor automatically sends sensor information, GPS and motion data of a client's smartphone to a simulator and receives simulation results from the simulator on the server. Also, we make it possible for data to be transferred safely and quickly through JSON and SEED. Smartphone Adaptor is applied to OpenSIM (Open simulation engine for Interoperable Models) which is an integrated simulation environment for weapons effectiveness analysis, under development of our research team. In this paper, we will show Smartphone Adaptor can be used effectively in constructing a Live simulation, with an example of a chemical simulator.

  • This paper deals with the messages scheduling of a CAN (Controller Area Network), based on the distributed control scheme to integrate actuators and sensors in a humanoid robot. In order to supply the distributed processing for a humanoid robot, each control unit should have the efficient control method, fast calculation and valid data exchange. The preliminary study has concluded that the performance of CAN is better and easier to implement than other network such as FIP (Factory Instrumentation Protocol), VAN (Vehicle Area Network), etc. Since humanoid robot has to treat the significant control signals from many actuators and sensors, the communication time limitation could be critical according to the transmission speed and data length of CAN specification. In this paper, the CAN message scheduling in humanoid robot was suggested under the presence of Jitter in the message group, the existence of high load of messages over the network and the presence of transmission errors. In addition, the response time under the worst case is compared with the simulation by using the simulation algorithm. As a result, the suggested messages scheduling can guarantee our CAN limitation, and utilized to generate the walking patterns for the humanoid.

  • XML is rapidly becoming one of the most widely adopted technologies for information exchange and representation on the World Wide Web. However, the large part of data is still stored in a relational database. Hence, we need to convert relational data into XML documents. The most important point of the conversion is to reflect referential integrities In relational schema model to XML schema model exactly. Until now, FT, NeT and CoT are suggested as existing approaches for conversion from the relational schema model to the XML schema model but these approaches only reflect referential integrities which are defined explicitly for conversion. In this paper, we suggest an algorithm for automatic extraction of implicit referential integrities such as foreign key constraints which is not defined explicitly in the initial relational schema model. We present translated XML documents by existing algorithms and suggested algorithms as comparison evaluation. We also compare suggested algorithm and conventional algorithms by simluation in accuracy part.
