Analysis of Hertzian Contact using East Fourier Transform (FFT를 이용한 Hertzian Contact 해석)

  • In this study, a numerical procedure to solve a contact problem has been developed. The procedure takes advantage of signal processing technique in frequency domain to achieve shorter computing time. Boussinesq's equation was adopted as the response function. This procedure is applicable to a non-periodic surface profile as well as a periodic one. The validity of this procedure has been established by comparing the numerical results with the exact solutions. The fastness of this procedure was shown in comparison with other algorithm.

  • Actually, it's very difficult to discriminate the transient on underground power cable system because of the reflected signal including many noises. Therefore, in this paper, a solution based on multiple scales correlation of the transient using SWT(Stationary Wavelet Transform) is presented. It's quick and straightforward. For applying all algorithms, we just use the signal captured in single end.

  • The Discrete Cosine Transform(DCT) is effective technique for image compression, which is widely used in the area of digital signal processing. In this paper, an efficient DCT processor is proposed and simulated by using Verilog HDL. This algorithm is improved 60% in processing speed, but it's somewhat complicate compared with Y. Arai's algorithm. This algorithm will be used efficiently for real time image processing.

  • In this paper, we extracted heart region using dyamic contour model, increased the vertical resolution of heart region by proposed 2-dimensional interpolation method and visualized the 3-dimensional hearet volutme. the proposed new energy term of dynamic contour model considering the gray level and direction of controur vectors is effective to extract the closed heart boundary. And, we generatedvertical slice images from the extracted heart region images using the 2-dimensional linear interpolation by DT(distance transform). We showed that proposed algorithm is useful by 3-dimensional visualization of heart volume.

  • The computer algorithm and program are developed to obtain the Luenberger Canonical form and the transform matrices for linear time invariant multivariable control systems. The model controller of an eigth order system, which assigns the modes of the multivariable control systems and closed-loop matrices are computed numerically by the developed programs. It is shown that the computed results coincide with the Luenberger's and Kalman's method. The gain of the model controller has varied from 10$^{-3}$ to 10$^{5}$ by the modes assignment of the open-loop system.

  • 본 논문은 웨이브릿을 기반으로 하는 EZW(Embedded Zerotree Wavelet) 복호기의 설계와 구현에 대하여 소개한다. EZW 부호화는 zerotree를 이용하는 부호화 방법으로서 웨이브릿 변환된 영상이 지니고 있는 계수의 특징을 잘 활용한 부호화 방법이다. EZW 복호화는 EZW 부호화와 대칭 관계를 갖는 구조로 구성되어 있다. EZW 복호기는 부호화의 결과로 생성된 파일의 bit stream을 입력으로 받아서 dominant와 subordinate pass로 구성된 2-pass의 EZW 복호화 과정을 수행하여 부호화 이전의 웨이브릿 변환된 입력 영상의 계수값을 복원한다. 복원된 웨이브릿 변환된 영상의 계수 값은 IDWT(Inverse Discrete Wavelet Transform)를 수행하여 부호화 되기 이전의 원래의 영상으로 재구성된다.

SH-wave propagation in a heterogeneous layer over an inhomogeneous isotropic elastic half-space

  • The present paper is devoted to study SH-wave propagation in heterogeneous layer laying over an inhomogeneous isotropic elastic half-space. The dispersion relation for propagation of said waves is derived with Green's function method and Fourier transform. As a special case when the upper layer and lower half-space are homogeneous, our derived equation is in agreement with the general equation of Love wave. Numerically, it is observed that the velocity of SH-wave increases with the increase of inhomogeneity parameter.
