The study analyzes divorce rates in Korea and makes suggestions for the future research of divorce rates. Based on the data from Korea Statistical Information System (KOSIS) of the National Statistics Organization, trends for divorce rates change and the relations between divorce rates and macro environmental factors are analyzed. Macro environmental factors include socioeconomic factors such as, Korean War, Vietnam War, oil shock, IMP economic crisis and gross national income (GNI), whereas demographical factors include population structure, rates of female labor participation, and geographical location. The principle characteristics of divorce rates are as follows: 1) the Crude divorce rates (CDR) and the number of divorced had been increased from 1970 to 2004, then the trend changed to a decrease; 2) the slope of the change were the highest during 1998 to 2004 after the IMP economic crisis. The relations between socioeconomic factors are as follows: 1) during the war there was a small increase of CDR for a short period of time; 2) the economic crisis of the nation tend to increase the CDR, while the IMP economic crisis had a strong impact on an increase of CDR because of the interaction effect among the population structure, women's sex role changes as well as the level of standard of living. The increase in CDR from 1990 to 2000 can be explained partly by the population of baby Boomers passing through their marriage and divorce process. The number of population residing in the rural area and the middle class households, and the mobility of population also had an impact on the divorce rates changes. The recommendations for the future research were as follows: 1) the need to develop new divorce statistics that are based on a marriage cohort or a birth cohort because family behavior is a mixture of personal, social and political responses, and because CDR is not an accurate measure of divorce rate since it was influenced by population structure; 2) the need to include micro personal factors as well as macro social factors in a model to find an interaction effect between those variables.

Objectives: This study was performed to investigate the level of participation in and satisfaction with training courses at job training institutions and to improve participation and satisfaction through changes in the training method for industrial ventilation subjects. Methods: The results were analyzed for the mean and standard deviation by t-test and ANOVA, (p=0.05). Participation rates were examined for three courses: specialization, job training, and supervisory. The participation inthe education was 428 people, and the result of satisfaction with the change of education method was 878 people. Satisfaction was investigated for the specialized curriculum and job training curriculum, but not the supervisor curriculum. The satisfaction results for six items(contents, quality, skill, level, degree of understanding, degree of practical) were analyzed according to the change in the training medium and the method among people in one occupational ventilation subject. Results: The participation rate was similar in the job training and specialized training courses, but the lowest rate was in supervisory courses(p=0.05). In general, there was the lowest participation on the first day of education, and the participation rate improved after the second day. Satisfaction with the course was high for the specialized education course with a number of practical education assignments(p=0.278). The satisfaction level for the teaching method in the industrial ventilation subjects was high in a mixed group which combined lecture and practice. The industrial ventilation course in the basic job training course showed a difference between lecture and mixed education(p=0.111), but there was no significant difference. However, the industrial ventilation course in the advance job training course showed a clear difference between lecture and the mixed education(p=0.036). Conclusions: Therefore, the first day of training should start in the afternoon so that more trainees can participate, and it is recommended to assign important subjects after two days. In addition, it is suggested that job competency-enhancing education utilize various educational methods and media.
Background Interest in global health and international mission trips among medical student and resident trainees is growing rapidly. How these electives and international mission experiences affect future practice is still being elucidated. No study has identified if participation in international surgical missions during residency is a predictor of participation in international surgical missions in practice after training completion. Methods All trainees of our plastic surgery residency program from 1990 to 2011, during the implementation of optional annual international surgical missions, were surveyed to determine if the graduate had gone on a mission as a resident and as a plastic surgeon. Data were compared between graduates who participated in missions as residents and graduates who did not, from 1990 to 2011 and 1990 to 2007. Results Of Plastic Surgery graduates from 1990 to 2011 who participated in international missions as residents, 60% participated in missions when in practice, versus 5.9% of graduates participating in missions in practice but not residency (P<0.0001). When excluding last 5 years, graduates participating in international missions in practice after doing so as residents increases to 85.7%, versus 7.41% who participate in practice but not residency P<0.002. Conclusions Results reveal plastic surgeons who participate in international surgical missions as residents participate in international surgical missions in practice at higher rates than graduates who did not participate in missions during residency. International missions have significant intrinsic value both to trainee and international communities served, and this opportunity should be readily and easily accessible to all plastic surgery residents nationwide.
The significant aim of this research is to suggest the applicable data for the future urban ecological restoration of rivers' activity and the direction of the future eco-experience program found by analyzing the state and progress of the restoration of the river ecological experience program. For this purpose, we researched the eco-experience program's outline and details of its operation and method from six rivers among all of the rivers going through restoration. We also carried out telephone interviews and in-depth interviews with the office staff that takes care about each river at the district office to investigate the specific details not revealed by our analysis, the number of operations, and the number of participants. We compared the number of operations to the number of participants and the frequency of participation of each river in a year. As a result, they have revealed that the participants of the eco-experience program ranged in variety including local students, families, and local citizens as a whole. Also the intimate observation and experience with nature gave the participants a better understanding of the ecosystem. In addition, it is revealed that the cheonggye river goes through its own standard of strict inspections and management daily. It is quite easy to notice that the cheonggye river shows a higher level of participation and operating activity than other rivers.
Purpose: The number of patients suffering from depression is rapidly increasing worldwide, and by 2030, it is expected to pose a severe social and economic burden. Reports suggest that approximately 30% of subjects with symptoms of depression do not attempt treatment. Therefore, predicting the characteristics of subjects with depressive symptoms who have not even attempted counseling treatment is essential to increase the participation rate for such treatment. This study intends to predict the participation rates for psychological counseling treatment for depression among subjects with depressive symptoms. Methods: This study used data from the 2021 Korea Community Health Survey (KCHS). Data analysis was carried out using a decision tree to design a model that predicted participation in psychological counseling for depression. Results: The results showed that subjects aged 65 to 74 had difficulty understanding the explanations of medical staff even though they did not have cognitive impairment. Only 11.1% of this group received psychological counseling, which was the lowest rate among the various age groups. Among the subjects, 62.4% of those aged 19-44 or 45-64, who had suicidal thoughts and attempted suicide, received psychological counseling and this was the highest rate among the age groups surveyed. Conclusion: The identification of people showing depressive symptoms is crucial for encouraging them to undertake treatment. Also, proper depression-oriented medical services should be developed and implemented for people with depressive symptoms who exhibit a blind spot towards attempting treatment.
The purpose of this study is to find out the residents' attitudes for the shared community space (SCS) according to various housing sizes (60㎠, 85㎠, 102㎠, 135㎠). The major findings are as follows: 1) The residents' overall trends for the SCS showed that the satisfaction rate and requirement rate according to housing size didn't show a significant difference, but there was a considerable difference among the using rates for each category of housing sizes. 2) The kinds of common facilities that residents required were recreational facilities, car-wash facilities, children's play centers, facilities for separation/sanitation for garbage and recyclable materials and lounging facilities in that order. The common facilities that require tenant-management were recreational facilities, car-wash facilities and lounging facilities in that order. The common facilities that require participation in tenant-management were study/reading facilities, recreational facilities and hobby/lecture facilities in that order. 3) With regard to the residents' needs, the tenant-management and participation in it, the kinds of common facilities were differentiated according to housing size (60㎠, 85㎠, 102㎠, 135㎠).

Recently, emerging countries have been paying attention to Korean economic development policy, trying to adopt the Korean regional innovation model. Korea is also interested in exporting its regional innovation model and enhancing economic cooperation with those countries. This paper aims to analyze the capacity-building programs of the Korean regional innovation model for emerging countries and suggests policies for it. For this purpose, the local innovators' participation patterns in the process of collaborative learning/networking/interaction are investigated with a focused group-interview method. From an analysis of the programs supported by Korean organizations, this study finds that the correlation coefficient between the training time of capacity building and the participation rate of local members' collaborative learning is very high (0.975). Since the correlation coefficient between the participation rates of collaborative learning and networking is relatively low (0.667), a policy to link local collaborative learning to networking should be provided. As the correlation coefficient between the participation rates of networking and interaction is high (0.950), networking is a key to regional innovation. This study recommends activity programs to promote networking among local innovators, rather than training and consulting programs. As introduced in the Chungnam Techno Park case, this study suggests that the capacity-building program should include programs to initiate a collaborative learning network, to create a local-demand, regional innovation model, and to operate the regional innovation platform, which should be done by local innovators in the emerging countries.
This study aims to investigate the aspect of volunteering and donation of highschool students in Seongnam city and further the relationship between volunteering and democratic civic consciousness. To that end, 155 students from an ordinary highschool and a foreign language highschool participated in a survey. The result showed that female students' participation rates of volunteering and monetary donations were higher than male students' but there was no difference in the participation rates between the schools. The civic consciousness level was not affected by the gender, but was affected by the schools. The scores for the attitude of democracy were better than those for the value and the participation of democracy. In particular, the students from the foreign language highschool had higher scores for the participation of democracy relative to the students from the highschool. As for the relationship between volunteering and democratic civic consciousness, there was a significant difference in civic consciousness scores between students who had participated in volunteering and those who had not, only in the case of the students from the ordinary highschool. Additionally, it was revealed volunteering and donating were compensatory behavior. Although single factors in volunteering influencing the civic consciousness were not found, persistence was important.
