  • This paper presents an odd harmonic repetitive controller for single-phase UPS inverters. The proposed repetitive controller achieves the low output voltage THD and reduces the steady-state error by eliminating odd harmonic distortions caused by nonlinear and unbalanced loads. The proposed control scheme is verified through experiment using a 5kW single-phase T-type inverter.

  • Motivated essentially by their potential for applications in a wide range of mathematical and physical problems, the log-sine and log-cosine integrals have been evaluated, in the existing literature on the subject, in many different ways. The main object of this paper is to present explicit evaluations of some families of log-sine and log-cosine integrals by making use of the familiar Beta function.

  • In this paper, a digital control strategy based on equivalent fundamental and odd harmonic resonators is proposed for single-phase DVRs. By using a delay block, which can be equivalent to a bank of resonators, it rejects the fundamental and odd harmonic disturbances effectively. The structure of the single closed-loop control system consists of a delay block, a proportional gain and a set of zero phase notch filters. The principle of the controller design is discussed in detail to ensure the stability of the system. Both the supply voltage and the load current feedforwards are used to improve the response speed and the ability to eliminate disturbances. The proposed controller is simple in terms of its structure and implementation. It has good performances in harmonic compensation and dynamic response. Experimental results from a 2kW DVR prototype confirm the validity of the design procedure and the effectiveness of the control strategy.

  • We present a convenient recursive formula for the sums of alternating harmonic series of odd order. The recursion is obtained by expanding in Fourier series certain elementary functions.

Very recently, Choi [6] presented explicit evaluations of some families of log-sine and log-cosine integrals by making use of the familiar Beta function. In the present sequel to the investigation [6], we evaluate the log-sine and log-cosine integrals involved in more complicated integrands than those in [6], by also using the Beta function.

  • The paper presents the results of using the fundamental and the low frequency harmonic components of leakage current to study aging of EPDM insulator for contaminated condition by kaolin. The largeer the leakage current during 200ms, the higher harmonic component at 60hz. The harmonic component at 60hz and the odd order harmonics is increase relation without Kaolin Conent. Arcing on the surface was always associated with distortion in the leakage current; hence the low frequency components of the leakage currnent can be used as a means to evaluate the surface degration. Both the fundamental and 3rd & 5th harmonics increase dry-band activity.

단상 전압 소스 인버터의 고조파 왜곡 보상을 위한 비례 다중 공진 제어기에 관한 연구 (A study on proportional multiple-resonance controller for harmonic distortion compensation of single phase VSIs)

  • 본 논문에서는 단상 전압 소스 인버터 (VSIs)의 강인한 출력 전압 제어를 위한 디지털 제어기 구현과 총 고조파 왜곡(T.H.D.v) 분석을 포함한 시뮬레이션 및 실험 결과를 제시한다. 일반적으로 VSI는 내부 루프의 전류 제어기에 비례 적분(PI) 제어기를 사용하고 외부 루프의 전압 제어기에 비례 공진 (PR) 제어기가 사용된다. 그러나, 비선형 부하에서 여전히 3차, 5차 및 7차와 같은 고차 고조파 왜곡이 발생한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 고조파 왜곡을 억제하기 위해 홀수 고조파 주파수에 대한 공진 제어기를 포함한 비례 다중 공진 (PMR) 제어기를 제안한다. VSI 플랜트용 컨트롤러의 주파수 응답을 분석하고 PMR 컨트롤러를 설계합니다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 PI와 PMR을 전압 제어기로 사용할 때 출력 전압의 총 고조파 왜곡 특성을 비교 검증합니다. 선형 및 비선형 하중 조건이 모두 고려되었습니다. 마지막으로 PMR 제어기를 3kW급 VSIs 프로토 타입에 적용하여 그 유효성을 입증하였다.

Experiment of harmonic components in voltage on high temperature superconducting wire carrying an AC

  • This paper deals with harmonic components of the voltage on high temperature superconducting wire carrying an alternating current. HTS wire is used to manufacture superconducting power applications carrying an alternating current. Typically, international standard, IEC 61788-3 is used for critical current measurement. Thus, it is not ideal that critical current criteria in dc are adapted to superconducting power devices to decide the operating current of the devices. In this paper, we confirmed odd harmonic voltage on HTS wires carrying an AC. The ratio between harmonic components and fundamental component can be significant clues to decide the critical current criteria for HTS wire and its power applications in AC circumstance.

8 GHz 대역 국부발진기용 주파수 3체배기 설계 및 제작 (Design and Fabrication of the Frequency Tripper for 8 GHz Local Oscillator)

  • 본 논문에서는 MESFET을 이용하여 8 GHz 대역 국부발진기용 주파수 3체배기를 설계 및 제작하였다. A급에 동작점을 두어 3차 하모닉 성분을 발생시켰고, λ$_{g}$/2 개방형 스터브와 대역통과 여파기를 이용하여 기본주파수와 2차 하모닉성분을 억제하였다. 측정결과 0 ㏈m 입력신호에 대해 출력주파수인 8.31 GHz에서의 변환이 득은 2.67 ㏈, -41.17 ㏈c의 고조파 쳐압 특성을 얻었다. 또한 -3 ㏈ 이상의 변환이득을 갖는 대역폭은 510 MHz로 나타났다.다.

Self-injection-locked Divide-by-3 Frequency Divider with Improved Locking Range, Phase Noise, and Input Sensitivity

  • In this paper, we integrate a divide-by-3 injection-locked frequency divider (ILFD) in CMOS technology with a $0.18-{\mu}m$ BiCMOS process. We propose a self-injection technique that utilizes harmonic conversion to improve the locking range, phase-noise, and input sensitivity simultaneously. The proposed self-injection technique consists of an odd-to-even harmonic converter and a feedback amplifier. This technique offers the advantage of increasing the injection efficiency at even harmonics and thus realizes the low-power implementation of an odd-order division ILFD. The measurement results using the proposed self-injection technique show that the locking range is increased by 47.8% and the phase noise is reduced by 14.7 dBc/Hz at 1-MHz offset frequency with the injection power of -12 dBm. The designed divide-by-3 ILFD occupies $0.048mm^2$ with a power consumption of 18.2-mW from a 1.8-V power supply.
