  • Sanankerto is one of pilot projects for tourism villages in Indonesia due to its natural tourism potential with a 24-ha bamboo forest located in Boon Pring Andeman area. However, the distribution of existing bamboo has never been identified or mapped. Thus, the mana gement is facing difficulty in planning and developing tourism potential as well as spatial management in the area. Therefore, the objectives of this study were to identify and analyze the structure of bamboo vegetation in the Boon Pring Tourism village an d to perform vegetation mapping. The type of research was descriptive exploratory with a cluster sampling technique (i.e., a two-stage cluster) covering an area of ± 10 ha. Bamboo vegetation analysis was performed by calculating diversity index (H'), evenness index (E), and Species Richness index (R). Data were collected through observation and interviews with local people and the manager to determine zonation division. Mapping of bamboo vegetation based on zoning was processed into thematic maps using ArcG is 10.3. Micro climatic factors were measured with three replications for each sub -cluster. Data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. Nine species of bamboo identified. Diversity, evenness, and species richness indices differed at each location. Activities of local communities, tourists, and manager determined the presence, number, and distribution of bamboo species. These bamboo distribution maps in three zoning (utilization, buffer, and core) can be used by manager for planning and developing natural tourism potential.

  • Intellectual output, such as research papers and patents, has increased due to the consistent investment of the government R&D budget, however, the economical outcome leaves much to be desired. These unsatisfactory results originate from the lack of information sharing about the technology's business compatibility and enterprise's business capability between technology supplier and technology user. This study aims at investigating the decision making process of technology commercialization by proposing an assessment model of the technology's business compatibility and enterprise's business capability. The assessment model was completed by selecting the key index through a literature survey, field survey and consultation with experts. The technology assessment model can be effectively utilized for technology licensing, technology start-up and technology selection in R&BD projects. However, the assessment indexes required for the basic science are not investigated in this study and some assessment indexes are differently interpreted by the individual appraisers. The assessment model will be improved through field application and additional studies will be conducted to develop the assessment model of basic science.

  • Many institutes and organizations carrying out the national R&D projects have and use the expert pool database at each need. But there is lack of human resources information about expert in science and technology part for many policy planning and committee activity, also most of the expert pools are scattered on several database systems. So it is necessary to manage systematically the human resources informations about scientific expert. As the committeeman assignment and committee findings management are conducted by the off-line method, there are wastes of time and labor in committeeman assignment process and committee history management. Therefore we need to provide an effective and automatic process for committeeman assignment and management. In this paper, we construct a database for expert pool who can be used in committee activity or policy planning, and implement a system that services committee management and committeeman assignment process. The human information retrieval service of this system is based on the KRISTAL-2002, an information retrieval and management system developed by KISTI.

  • The research about social network for analyzing human relationship has been steadily worked due to the importance in the social science field. It is also important that analyzing the relationship between researchers in the academic and research fields. Especially, the network by joint research or citation between researchers is useful to evaluating projects or making policy on academic and research fields. This paper describes a method that generates two kinds of researcher networks showing co-authorship and citation relationship between researchers based on national R&D reference information ontology. We infer pair of researchers in co-authorship or citation relationship by SPARQL query from the ontology which is composed of research outcomes and their participating researchers in RDF triples. By postprocessing, we construct researcher network which links researchers in co-authorship and citation relationship.

  • The study deals with the France's recent cluster policy represented by the Competitiveness Pole. As a national level cluster supporting policy driven by the central government, the Competitiveness Pole, called 'French cluster model', :is competitiveness-oriented, and principally based on three main factors: partnerships, R&D projects and international visibility. The Competitiveness Pole is also the fruit or a long time effort to establish a decentralized governance system, and it has a lot for Korea to benchmark its relevant policies. After reviewing the Local Production System that was put in place before the Competitiveness Pole, the study treats main aspects or Competitiveness Pole policy. It analyze, then, the significance or the policy in the trend or the overall territorial policy or the country. Lastly, the study provides some implications for Korean policies such as industrial clusters, the Enterprise City and Innovation City.

  • Recent expansion in cloud service usage has heightened the importance of cloud security. The purpose of this study is to analyze current research trends in the field of cloud security and to derive implications. To this end, R&D project data provided by the National Science and Technology Knowledge Information Service (NTIS) from 2010 to 2023 was utilized to analyze trends in cloud security research. Fifteen core topics in cloud security research were identified using LDA topic modeling and ARIMA time series analysis. Key areas identified in the research include AI-powered security technologies, privacy and data security, and solving security issues in IoT environments. This highlights the need for research to address security threats that may arise due to the proliferation of cloud technologies and the digital transformation of infrastructure. Based on the derived topics, the field of cloud security was divided into four categories to define a technology reference model, which was improved through expert interviews. This study is expected to guide the future direction of cloud security development and provide important guidelines for future research and investment in academia and industry.

  • In this paper, the empirical relations of skin friction and end bearing resistance with the results of site investigation in soft rock are proposed through the analysis of bi-directional pile load tests of rock socketed drilled shafts performed at large offshore bridge foundations and high-rise building projects (13 test piles in 4 projects). The site investigation and drilling for bi-directional pile load tests were performed at the centers of test piles, and f-w curves for skin friction and q-w curves for end bearing were plotted based on load-transfer measurements. From the above curves, the empirical relations of skin friction and end bearing resistance with the results of site investigation depending on the mobilized displacement are determined by multiple regression analysis and compared with previous studies. Since the f-w and q-w curves of rock-socketed piles in Korea show hardening behavior according to mobilized displacement, the developed empirical relations by the mobilized displacement are more reasonable than those of previous studies which could not consider the mobilized displacement and suggested the ultimate capacity with unconfined compressive strength only. Particularly, the developed equations correlated with unconfined compressive strength show the best correlations among the equations correlated with other parameters.

  • Deep sea water is found more than 200 m under the surface. As no sunlight reaches, no photosynthesis takes place, and it has very little organic matter or bacteria. In addition, deep sea water maintains a consistently low temperature throughout the year, and it does not mix with the water found closer to the surface, which means that its cleanliness is preserved. It is a long-term mature sea water resource that is rich in minerals. This paper examined the physical characteristics and the uses of deep sea water, a subject that has been attracting a great deal of public attention recently, together with the current status of domestic research into it and the direction of research in the USA and Japan, focusing on the existing literature. The aim of this paper was to provide are source to researchers in the field. Since the 1970s, scientists around the world have recognized the importance of deep sea water, and have been conducting research into it. In the USA, deep sea water has been researched with the view of its application to cooling, alternative energy, farming, and the development of new materials. In Japan, about 10 local self-governing bodies are currently promoting research and business relating to deep sea water, which has resulted in a number of products that have been released to the market. In Korea, the ministry of land transport and marine affairs has been studying deep sea water since 2000, and full-scale national R&D projects have been performed by 24 organizations, including KORDI, through industrial/academic cooperation. Large companies are participating in deep sea water research projects in several ways. A study of data foundusing NDSL relating to domestic studies of deep sea water found 50 theses, 177 domestic patents, 6 analyses, 2 reports, and 2 etc. in other areas.
