This planning afford promise of implement about the family life tasks and preventive interventions of family life problems or issues. The conceptual forcus are on the values, interdependence, wholeness, adaptation and balance of human life. A Causal Study of Parenting Efficacy based on the effect of Parental Resources and Parenting Stress in Low income family (저소득 가정의 부모자원 및 양육스트레스가 양육효능감에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of parental resources and parenting stress on parenting efficacy in low-income families Furthermore, in order to verify whether parental resources function as a resilience factor, a structural model was established to assess the suitability and influence of the variables. A total of 603 parents of children and adolescents between the ages of 9-18 were selected from the data from Children and Adolescents Comprehensive Status Research (2009) by the Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs. For the analyses, SPSS WIN 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 were utilized. The major results were as follows: First, the suitability of the model was confirmed with variables presenting a satisfying fit. Second, parental resources had a negative effect on parenting stress and a positive effect on parenting efficacy. Third, parenting stress had a negative effect on parenting efficacy. Finally, a test of the structural equation model supports the hypothesis that parental resources have a significant direct effect as well as an indirect effect through parenting stress on parenting efficacy. The implications for further studies and practice were discussed.

A Case Study on the Family-Friendly Firm Workers' Flexibility Needs (근로자들의 근무유연성에 대한 요구 분석 - 한 가족친화인증기업 근로자들의 사례 -)

  • This qualitative case study focused on the workers' flexibility needs. We selected eight full-time workers from one 2009 family friendly certified firm for observation and in-depth interview. The workers are categorized into three groups; male employees with housewives, double income family workers depending on extended family, and double income family workers depending on paid babysitter. The spouse's work status and informal extended familial support to child care were crucial factors to influence their work family life styles and flexibility needs. The flex time is the most desirable everyday needs for the dual working child caring parents depending on the paid help. And the female workers' concerned about the stigma effect of the institutionalized flexibility use of the inferior labors.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of home informatization on the family system. This study is based on the systems approach. A family system is composed of two major subsystems-personal and managerial. Managerial subsystem is concerned to instrumental function, such as time management and financial management. Personal subsystem is concerned to expressive function, such as family relations and interactions. So this study attempts to analyze the effects of Internet on the family system through time management, financial management, and family relations. The results from reviewing several related researches are that home informatization through Internet use has changed time management, financial management, and family relations. Finally this study suggests three plans of home informatization for contributing to improve the quality of family living.

  • This study aims to review the family life and its changing process in the early twenty’s century. It is explored through the editorial of the Maeil-Shinho during 1910∼1945. It is valuable work to explore of family life in the Maeil-Shinbo newspapers because it was continuously published from 1910 to 1945. The author attempted to study family life in five major such as food and nutrition, clothing, resource management, family, and child care. And of the articles food and nutrition parts ranks the highest order and clothing care was the second highest. In the early nineteenth century, many of articles were about to family life but decreased its amount by 1940. Of the editorials, most articles had dealt with the educational context in order to improve the quality of family life.

  • This study objectively analyzes the understanding of changes in North Koreans' home lives and the differences between the home life cultures of South and North Korea. A comparative analysis was conducted of terms related to consumer and family resource management to determine language differences and create a mutual understanding of social convergence unification. First, the analysis revealed that the North Korean language is not developed in certain areas, such as consumer welfare or consumer patterns related to resolving issues or complaints connected to consumptive lifestyles. In financial management, there were terms that referred to the collapsed North Korean economic conditions after the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 and the North Korean famine. Second, terms reflecting North Korea's social, political, and economic structures were discovered, and it was found that South and North Korean languages differed from each other with regard to terms about kinship, sports, and art.

Time Use of Family Housework and the Influencing Factors on It (가족공유 가사노동시간 및 영향요인 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the family sharing time of housework and to examine the sharing time with family is influenced by socio-demographic variables. The Time Use Survey data collected by Korean National Statistical Office in 2009 is used. Among the total sample of 21,000 individuals, 9,179 samples who are married, aged from 20 to 59 years old and non-farmers are selected for analysis. The statistical methods are frequency, percentage, crosstabulation, t-test, and regression analysis. The following is a summary of the major findings. First, comparison of men and women shows women spend more time on housework than men do. But sharing housework time with family for men increase on Sunday. Performer average is almost same in men and women. Secondly, the family sharing time on housework is longer on Sunday. It is due to increase of men's family sharing time. It means that men's time substitute for women's housework. Thirdly, the influencing factors on family sharing housework are gender, age, education, presence of spouses, monthly income, dual earner status, weekly working hours, gender role atittude and presence of preschoolers. Family sharing housework is not only household labor but also family pleasure time. It means family policy should focus on making family time for workers fundamentally. And family policy needs to make a system of educational program for work-family balance.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze leisure studies in human ecology of Korea and to discuss them. For this analysis, the articles which were published on the Journal of Korean Home Economics Association, the Journal of Korean Home Management Association, and the Journal of Korean Family Resource Management Association were investigated by theme, research subject, and research method. Leisure studies in human ecology began with the survey of time-use or activity patterns and they were focused on the housewives. Since the latter half of the 1990' s varied groups -especially the old- are subject to sample, and the shared leisure is studied, varied themes are studied. The research method were deflected to the survey using questionnaire all throughout the period. For the future study, we suggest that the general theories developed and the appropriate research method applied.

  • This study investigates the literatures of leisure function and resource of the elderly to consider deeply the meaning of their leisure. In conclusion, this study presents the leisure of the elderly has both of positive and negative functions individually, socially and economically and they have the resources of individual, human and social as the usable resources for leisure but each of resources has disturbing restrictions. On the actual condition of elderly's leisure activity, they enjoy negatively like a watching TV and the using rate of leisure facilities is lower than other age groups.

The Level of Transformational Leadership in Family and the Job Satisfaction: - Focusing on the Workers in Seoul - (가정 내 변혁적 리더십 수준과 직업만족도 - 서울시 직장기혼남녀를 대상으로 -)

  • The main purpose of the current research was to induce the importance of manners through the relationship between the level of transformational leadership in the family and the degree of job satisfaction in workers. It also examined positive variants that can enhance the degree of job satisfaction. The data from 250 questionnaires were used for the final analysis. The main results of the present study are as follows: First, the level of transformational leadership in the family tended to be relatively low, although it was good at the intellectual stimulus leadership among the sub-dimension of the "Family Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire." Moreover, communication, status, and education level turned out to be most influential background variables. Secondly, the score for job satisfaction that is recognized by the workers appeared to be less than average. It seemed that relative comparison in the level of life, communication and education level were the most influential variables. Indeed, the result of stepwise regression analysis showed that transformational leadership made a comparatively high contribution to job satisfaction. Therefore, it is important to keep in mind that a worker's leadership development is a main source of maintaining job satisfaction.
