The purpose of this study was to compare the health status, sleep and depression and to examine relationships between health status, sleep and depression by employment status in the elderly. This study used the data from the "2008 Korean National Survey on Older Adults" by Ministry of Health, Welfare and Family. Out of the total 15,146 Korean elderly surveyed, 5,204 subjects with job and 9,942 subjects without job at the present were used in a final analysis. There were significant differences in health status, sleep and depression by employment status. As for old adults with job, job satisfaction had the greatest effect on depression, followed by perceived health status, difficulty of daily activities by disease, and deep-sleeping days in the order. These variables accounted for 29% of depression. As for old adults without job, perceived health status had the greatest effect on depression, followed by difficulty of daily activities by disease, deep-sleeping days and total sleeping time in the order. These variables accounted for 32% of depression. Therefore, the health-promotion intervention to improve the health status, sleep and depression of the elderly should be planed and provided considering such differences by employment status.

METHODS: We analyzed the personal factor, environmental factor, work performance and participation factor related to ICF according to worker's gender. For this purpose data from the third Worker's Compensation Insurance panel survey conducted by the Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service were analyzed. In order to verify the research model, we used frequency analysis, cross analysis to compare the differences between male and female workers according to personal, environmental, work performance, and participation factors and hierarchical regression analysis to identify significant factors affecting job performance. RESULTS: The results, indicate that the level of education, license status, working period, socioeconomic status and employment type of female workers were lower than those of male workers. Factors that have the greatest influence on job performance are grade of disability, status of disability, economic activity status, and instrumental activities of daily living (p<.05). CONCLUSION: It is necessary to provide socially stable employment support and social policy support without discrimination to allow disabled female workers to return to work and maintain their jobs and to study factors influencing job performance further.

Status symbol was measured with Koh's and Lee's questionaire, and occupation symbol items were prepared for this study. The questionaire in this study were administered to 323 white-collar workers in Seoul. The statistical methods utilized Pearson'a product moment correlation, one-way ANOVA test, Duncan's multiple range test and multiple regression analysis. The results obtained from this study were : 1. Perceptual orientation was positively correlated to clothing satisfaction, and negatively correlated to status symbol. 2. Job satisfaction was positively correlated to clothing satisfaction and clothing comformity. 3. Clothing conformity, clothing satisfaction and job satisfaction showed significant differences according to occupation.

Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate factors affecting the job embeddedness of workers in the manufacturing industry. Methods: The survey was conducted on 261 workers of the manufacturing industry in P city and Y city with the help of a structured self-report questionnaire, administered between June 10 and June 30, 2017. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a t-test, ANOVA, a $Scheff{\acute{e}}s$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: There were significant differences in job embeddedness according to educational level, marital status, jobs and types of employment, satisfaction with salary, stress level, and the perceived health status of the subjects. There were significant positive correlations between role clarity of job demands (r=.45), leader member exchange (r=.48), recovery experience from job stress (r=.27), and job embeddedness. From the multiple regression analysis, the most significant factors affecting job embeddedness were found to be leader member exchange (${\beta}=.43$), recovery experience from job stress (${\beta}=.22$), and job demand (${\beta}=.15$). These variables explained 35.0% of the total variance in job embeddedness. Conclusion: In order to increase job embeddedness of workers in the manufacturing industry, it is necessary to prepare measures to increase job demand, leader member exchange, and recovery experience from job stress.
This study investigates whether previous experiences in the labor market such as previous employment type and job type are related to the economic status and poverty in the elderly in Korea. Previous studies are limited in explaining the causes of poverty by using only the proxy variables such as age, marital status, and gender to classify the poverty status of the elderly after poverty has been identified. Therefore little is known about how the economic well-being after retirement is interrelated with previous job experiences in the labour market. The results indicate that the last job type and type of employment are significant predictors for the economic status of elderly. Job type in the labour market is critical for the lifetime economic status of an individual. These findings imply that we might need to reconsider the current public pension system which directly relates the benefit level to the amount of contribution. A system introducing a basic pension or a minimum pension benefit based on the citizenship or residence might be an alternative worth to consider.
