A Distributed Constrained Power Control with Variable State Feedback Gain in CDMA Cellular Systems (가변 상태궤환 이득을 이용한 CDMA 셀룰라 시스템의 제한된 분산전력제어)

  • We present a power control with variable state feedback gain (VFPC) to improve outage convergence rate of distributed constrained power control. The variable state feedback gain includes the information of the desired SIR changes and must be a decreasing sequence for the convergence. The proof of the convergence is given. The proposed algorithm can improve the outage convergence rate and SIR (Signal to Interference Ratio) response at transient as well as at steady state. The simulation results are given to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed scheme.

  • We investigate the transmit power control algorithm for multi-access points environment. Each terminal may transmit a signal to one of these access points. Each access point may receive a signal from desired terminals as well as interference from neighbor terminals. In this paper, a transmit power control algorithm is developed such that the total transmit power is minimized, while each terminal meets the target signal to interference ratio (SIR) requirement. In particular, the effect of increasing the number of access-points on the total transmit power consumption is analyzed. Based on this analysis, we propose a convergence guaranteed power control algorithm. We prove that the proposed iterative algorithm always converges to the target SIR. In addition, we show that the proposed algorithm optimizes the transmit power level. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm guarantees convergence regardless of the number of access points. We also observed that increasing the number of access points reduces the total transmit power consumption.

Interference Suppression Using Principal Subspace Modification in Multichannel Wiener Filter and Its Application to Speech Recognition

  • It has been shown that the principal subspace-based multichannel Wiener filter (MWF) provides better performance than the conventional MWF for suppressing interference in the case of a single target source. It can efficiently estimate the target speech component in the principal subspace which estimates the acoustic transfer function up to a scaling factor. However, as the input signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) becomes lower, larger errors are incurred in the estimation of the acoustic transfer function by the principal subspace method, degrading the performance in interference suppression. In order to alleviate this problem, a principal subspace modification method was proposed in previous work. The principal subspace modification reduces the estimation error of the acoustic transfer function vector at low SIRs. In this work, a frequency-band dependent interpolation technique is further employed for the principal subspace modification. The speech recognition test is also conducted using the Sphinx-4 system and demonstrates the practical usefulness of the proposed method as a front processing for the speech recognizer in a distant-talking and interferer-present environment.

A Study on Direct Decision Blind Adaptive Interference Suppression for DS-CDMA Systems (DS-CDMA 시스템을 위한 직접 결정 블라인드 적응 간섭 억제에 관한 연구)

  • In the mobile communication using DS-CDMA systems the problem of multiple user interference which reduce the performance is generated by multiple user access. In this paper to solve this problem we proposed the direct decision blind adaptive receiver with knowledge of only the desired user's spreading sequence. Simulation result present that the total user's power has equal gain The gain of signal to interference ratio for the proposed blind DD-LMS receiver has about 6[dB] than conventional receiver at additive white Gaussian noise and large gain at multipath channels. And when interference user's power has more large gain than desired user's power the gain of SIR for the proposed receiver has large value. And simulation result of bit error rate present that DD-LMS receiver has higher performance than LCCMA receiver. Thus the proposed blind DD-LMS receiver has robustness against interference of high power user and multipath channels.

  • In this paper, we propose an edge side-lobe suppressor (ESS) for the uplink of OFDMA systems, which mitigates the interference introduced by different frequency offsets between a desired user and the other users. We evaluate the proposed ESS scheme by measuring average signal to interference ratio (SIR) and average bit error rate (BER). The simulation results confirm that the proposed ESS scheme improves system performance by approximately 5∼10 dB SIR as compared to conventional OFDMA systems. Because the additional operations for the proposed scheme can be performed by a real-valued look-up table, the implementation of the ESS hardly requires increasing transmitter and receiver complexity.

  • The goal of mobile internet system is to provide a high-data-rate, low-latency and optimized packet radio access technology supporting flexible bandwidth deployments. Therefore, network architecture is designed with the goal to support packet-switched traffic with seamless mobility, quality of service and minimal latency. An important requirement for the mobile internet system is improved cell-edge BER performance and data throughput. This is to provide some level of service consistency in terms of geographical coverage as well as in terms of available data throughput within the communication coverage area. In a cellular system, however, the signal to interference plus noise power ratio gap between cell-center and cell-edge users can be of the order of 20 [dB]. The disparity can be even higher in a communication coverage limited cellular system. This leads to vastly lower data throughputs for the cell-edge users relative to cell-center users creating a large QoS gap. This paper proposes a analytical approach that tries to reduce inter-cell interference, and shows the SIR and BER performance according to the OFDM system parameters in mobile Internet environment.

  • This paper for establishing the reliability of the TPC command is introduced, where the soft symbol of the TPC command itself is directed used as a reliability indicator. In addition to the new reliability estimation, the concept of parallel use of TPC algorithms is presented. The results show that the soft symbol reliability estimation decrease the $P_{tx}$ levels with 0.3 dB, thus providing a useful capacity gain. The parallel use of 2 to 4 algorithms is also shown to decrease the sensitivity of the algorithms to the algorithm thresholds used, and thus increase the feasibility of the algorithms in a real world networks.

  • DS/CDMA systems for the high speed communication require high code rats. In discrete time CDMA receivers, the performance degradation, caused by the phase difference between transmission code and reference code, increase the sampling frquency of the receiver. This increment of the sampling frequency makes hard to implement high speed CDMA systems. This paper analyzes the SIR(signal to interference Ratio) performance of the discrete time DS/CDMA system, based on the code phase difference. The results of this paper may be useful to study a low-sampling CDMA receiver.

  • In this paper. a novel technique to set up the initial weights in BSS of delayed mixtures is proposed. After analyzing Eigendecomposition for the correlation matrix of mixing data. the initial weights are set from the Eigenvectors ith delay information. The Proposed setting of initial weighting method for conventional FDICA technique improved the separation Performance. The computer simulation shows that the Proposed method achieves the improved SIR and faster convergence speed of learning curve.

  • In this paper, an adaptive power control algorithm in the DS/CDMA system is proposed. The currently used transmitter/receiver based on IS-95 and the radio propagation channel under mobile communication environments are modeled. Theses are the key features for the simulation to analyse the performance of power control. the distribution of the received SIR(signal to interference ratio)and the bit error probability are the required parameters for the performance analysis. Furthermore the influence of the power control command error on the above parameters are analyzed. By using the performance analysis of IS-95 and the occurrence of burst errors that is characteristic for wireless channels. the new power control algorithm is proposed. The proposed power control algorithm increases the SIR which results in a better service quality and an enhancement in the system capacity.
