  • This study has importance of that it verifies applicability of a new interpretation of surrealism to spatial design. Transcendental cognitive form of idealism, concept of time and space are premise of reality and surreality is finally condensed to the matter of time and space. Surrealistic techniques are automatic description, double association, montage and etc, and all of them are trials to approach to essence of images expressing unconsciousness through spatiotemporal changes of object. The purpose of this study is to find the surrealistic methods that can be applied to spatial design.

  • In a modern society, as the architectural materials have become main subject of the interior design expression, their influence on architecture is becoming substantial. There are multiple ways of using architectural materials. The aesthetic value is greatly enhanced by the fact that the architectural materials can be used to create unrestricted and new expression. The modern time is uncertain and rapidly changing. In this era of chaos and diversity, the materialism is being superseded by idealism. Speedy exchange of information among the countries with development of new technology and materials increases the possibility of new expressions. Each new material that adds new value influences on the other art as well as the architecture. These characteristics of new expressions could be viewed as having close relationship with current idealism. Therefore, the study on the expressive trend of architectural materials will provide better understanding and translation on expression of interior design. At this point, this study has a purpose in not only understanding architectural materials but also researching for the characteristics of expression on interior design with consideration of paradigmatic variation in modern times.

  • This study examined the relationship between consumers' ethical ideologies and consumers' perceptions of fashion counterfeits. Forsyth's Ethics Position Questionnaire(EPQ) measuring consumers' ethical ideologies-- idealism and relativism -- was used. College students enrolled at a large university in a metropolitan area participated(N=314). There were no significant differences between counterfeit purchasers and non-purchasers on their ethical ideologies, while there were significant differences between these two groups on their perceptions toward two of the perceptions toward counterfeit factors: economic and psychological uncertainty. Idealism was not significantly related to participants' perceptions toward fashion counterfeit, while relativism was positively related only to participants' perceptions concerning the return-related uncertainty of fashion counterfeits. The results of a multiple regression revealed that consumers' economic, psychological, and return-related uncertainty were significant predictors of intent to buy counterfeit goods.

  • This study is to investigate the degree of consumers' non-ethical perceptions and behaviors, and to explore related variables such as demographic variables, idealism and relativism. The data used in this study were obtained by surveying 237 college students from 10th through 24th of October, 2002 in Kimhae city. We conducted a statistical analysis of the data, using percentiles, frequencies, means, t-test, ANOVA, and Multiple Regression. Consumers' non-ethical perceptions and behaviors were measured by modifying Consumer Ethics Scale(CES, Muncy & Vitell, 1992). The CES scale comprises 4 sub-factors: actively benefiting from illegal activity(CES1), passively benefiting(CES2), actively benefiting from questionable action(CES3), no harm/no foul(CES4). Average scores of consumers' non-ethical perceptions and behaviors marked below a mid-value, which means that most of the students are basically ethical. The related variable of consumers' non-ethical perceptions was idealism. The related variables of consumers' non-ethical behaviors were idealism and the amount of discretionary money. The results show that most of the participants are basically ethical as a consumer. However, the results related with the CES4 sub-factor which includes consumer attitudes toward copyrights of consumer softwares and music CDs tell us that they are relatively non-ethical. This claims an importance of consumer education to college students in regards to intellectual property.

  • Many ideas which have appear in human history ought to be fruits of the relevant time, however they sometimes reveal new meaning. Daesoon idea is like that, and anarchism also has been resurgent today according to the demand of the time. Both ideas aim at an ideal society. They are not codes of conduct by specific ideology, but are the spirit of resistance against all kinds of oppression, i.e. which began from human nature. Anarchism refuses intellectual revolution theory or idea, but it wants only the life of human nature. Therefore, in spite of the diversity of its historic type, anarchism is in the same discussion as idealism e.g. religion, politics, etc. which have seek the essence of human life. Daesoon idea, as well, begins from religious idealism, it kindles the same discussion as anarchism. Particularly, anarchism is receiving attention with its spirituality of the new century. If so, it will be a critical help for the development of Daesoon idea to consider such newness through a conversation with anarchism. A comparison between Daesoon idea and anarchism is mainly a conversation about the ideology of ideal society. The researcher intended to investigate the viewpoint of anarchism in terms of comparing its personality, society and nation with Daesun idea, though it was not easy work since the ideological genealogy of anarchism is various. Both of them have a mental attitude, i.e. 'essential resistance', on the basis of such introspection. The spirit of resistance is an essence of man and the right of resistance is a basic human rights that insist the dignity of man. When the right of resistance reaches the essence of human life, it becomes an ideal thought and religion. Also, the ideal can be finally realized when the spirit of resistance becomes the power of practice by actualizing it as the right of resistance.

Methods: A survey was conducted involving 300 university students majoring in a four-year paramedical education program at two universities in Daejeon and Chungnam. Ultimately 220 surverys were subjected to analysis. Results: There was a significant difference in students' perception of medical information protection according to the need for education on medical information protection protocol (p=0.022); however, there were no significant differences in the practice of these protocols. The idealism tendency was positively correlated with the awareness of medical information protection (r=.332, p=.000) and the practice of medical information protection (r=.309, p=.001). A tendency toward relativism was significantly associated with the awareness of medical information protection (r=.138, p=.040) and not significantly related to the practice of medical information protection protocols. The tendency toward idealism tended to have a significant positive effect on the awareness of medical information protection protocols (β=.318, t=4.777, p=.000) and the degree of practice (B=.369, t=3.456, p=.001). Conclusion: Appropriate educational programs for medical information protection are needed. These programs should adhere to the characteristics of the department by linking with the training institution.
