  • A numerical method is developed for the nonlinear motion of two-dimensional wedges and axisymmetric-forced-heaving motion using Semi-Largrangian scheme under assumption of potential flows. In two-dimensional-problem Cauchy's integral theorem is applied to calculate the complex potential and its time derivative along boundary. In three-dimensional-problem Rankine ring sources are used in a Green's theorem boundary integral formulation to salve the field equation. The solution is stepped forward numerically in time by integrating the exact kinematic and dynamic free-surface boundary condition. Numerical computations are made for the entry of a wedge with a constant velocity and for the forced harmonic heaving motion from rest. The problem of the entry of wedge compared with the calculated results of Champan[4] and Kim[11]. By Fourier transform of forces in time domain, added mass coefficient, damping coefficient, second harmonic forces are obtained and compared with Yamashita's experiment[5].

  • Using the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability method, we investigate isomorphisms in quasi-Banach algebras and derivations on quasi-Banach algebras associated with the Cauchy-Jensen functional equation $$2f(\frac{x+y}{2}+z)$$=f(x)+f(y)+2f(z), which was introduced and investigated in [2, 17]. The concept of Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability originated from the Th. M. Rassias' stability theorem that appeared in the paper: On the stability of the linear mapping in Banach spaces, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 72 (1978), 297-300. Furthermore, isometries and isometric isomorphisms in quasi-Banach algebras are studied.

  • Let (X,d) be a metric space and let T be a mapping from X into itself. We say that a metric space (X,d) is T-orbitally complete if every Cauchy sequence of the form ${T^{n_i}x}_{i \in N}$ for $x \in X$ converges to a point in X.

  • In this paper, we introduce a new system of first-order impulsive fuzzy differential equations. By using Banach fixed point theorem, we obtain some new existence and uniqueness theorems of solutions for this system of first-order impulsive fuzzy differential equations in the metric space of normal fuzzy convex sets with distance given by maximum of the Hausdorff distance between level sets.

  • In this paper, we prove the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of the Cauchy functional equation f(x+y) = f(x)+f(y) and of the Jensen functional equation $2f(\frac{x+y}{2})=f(x)+f(y)$ over the p-adic field ${\mathbb{Q}}_p$. The concept of Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability originated from the Th.M. Rassias' stability theorem that appeared in his paper: On the stability of the linear mapping in Banach spaces, Proc. Amer. Math. • In this article, we study the solvability of the Cauchy-Dirichlet problem for a class of nonlinear parabolic equations with nonstandard growth and nonlocal terms. We prove the existence of weak solutions of the considered problem under more general conditions. In addition, we investigate the behavior of the solution when the problem is homogeneous.

  • In this paper we establish two common fixed point theorems in fuzzy metric spaces. These theorems are generalisations of the Banach contraction mapping principle and the Kannan's fixed point theorem respectively in fuzzy metric spaces. Our result is also supported by examples.
