  • This paper deals with stand-alone photovoltaic system(SPVS) with charge and discharge controller. Main power source of SPVS are generally solar cell and battery. Therefore SPVS can be classified into variable types in accordance with connection type between battery and solar cell. Mainly used one of them is direct connection type which has advantages such as simple structure and simple controller. However most big drawback of this system is energy loss by voltage disharmony between solar cell and battery. Therefore SPVS with charge and discharge controller which can operate solar cell at maximum power point is suggested and designed with instantaneous controller. And system operating characteristics are verifieded by experiment with a laboratory prototype in this paper.

  • Need correct analysis of thrust for control performance improvement of HB-LPM (Hybrid type Linear Pulse Motor). It is difficult to analyze HB-LPM's thrust. In this paper, HB-LPM's thrust is expressed to mathematical expression. And it is proved validity of this numerical formula by thrust measurement system. Two phase driver is composed. It is verified validity of numerical formula that measure waveform of electric current and voltage that is supplied in each phase. In this study, composed two phase drive driver, advantage of this IGBT element 6 by accumulated IPM module 1 Driver composition possible. That is, can economize 1 moule. In other words, Driver composition is available by IGBT or metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor element 4. This is economical big gain.

  • The effects of Mn, V addition on the behavior of structure and the effects of cooling rate of S20C steel for use of Tn housing and valve for automotive parts have been investigated. Transformation start temperature measured from inflection point of cooling curves has been found out to decrease with increasing cooling rate and to be more sensitive to Mn contents when cooling rate is fast. It was therefore shown that the grain was refined. If there is a big compacting pressure, it is indicated that hardness becomes much greater at surface than inside.

  • [ $ulcorner$ ]Cost-Effectiveness Analysis$\lrcorner$ has been wifely used to evaluate economic efficiency of R&D projects, but most of cost-effectiveness evaluation systems have some problems such as systematic method for setting and evaluating cost factors, estimation of single effect on each R&D project, and estimation of cross effects among R&D projects. To solve these problems, we have designed a new evaluation indicator called a $ulcorner$Cost-Cross Effect Integration Indicator$lrcorner$ including cross effects developed in this research. The major research findings are summarized as follows : (1) $ulcorner$Coist Estimation Model$lrcorner$, which estimates the cost factors divided into two classes of assembly product and system product and then integrates the total cost values, has been designed. (2) A new method for estimating parameters of cross effects among R&D projects has been developed. (3) $ulcorner$Cross Effects Estimation Model$lrcorner$ to estimate multi-effects and cross effects by completion time among several projects has been designed. (4) $ulcorner$Integration Estimation Indicator$lrcorner$ for setting priority on a project group has been extracted by combination of total cost value and total effect value.

  • As modern society set in, lifestyle has been changing largely; leisure activity has been expanded and family activity became important. Changes in the lifestyle caused big changes even in fashion industry. Instead of suits, coordination using clothes easy to wear was extended and the need of family look was also raised. Despite the need and marketability of family look, however, family look style clothes depend on the manufacture by orders on the Internet and few brands have been developed unlike the activation of family restaurants or family fast-food restaurants. Thus, this study examined design of family look style T-shirts applying Korean image as one of measures to activate fashion brands of family look. This study purposed to find out self-conceit and identification of our culture by recreating family look as cultural tourism products applying Korean traditional patchwork wrapping-clothes and natural dying techniques and to globalize the products as high value-added ones containing differentiated Korea-style originality. In particular, as Interest in natural dying has been raised because of serious environmental problems and extension of wellbeing culture, products applying natural dying have been developed actively. At this point of time, the development of family look style T-shirts applying natural dying will contribute largely to planning globalization of our brands by developing products with more polished and globalized design.

Diachronic Analysis of Korean Men's Wear Design based on Changes in Gender Roles (20세기 한국 남성 성역할에 따른 남성복 디자인 변화 특성 연구)

  • This study aimed to analyze the changing characteristics between Men's Gender Role and Men's wear Design in 20th century. To analyze the representative Men' Gender roles, the related studies and literatures reviewed. Literature reviews and quantitative studies were performed to analyze the changing differences of Korean Men's wear Deign as a symbolic factors of gender role. The results of study are as follows. 1) The representative men's gender roles in 1900's~1920's were 'Patriarchal/ Stern Man'. The narrow V-zone of jacket and shoulder, high shirt collars and well fitted suits expressed the stern images of that times. 2) In 1930's~50's, 'Enervated/ Escapist Man' were the representative images. They were expressed with wide lapels and shoulders, emphasized V-zone and abundant trousers. Especially 40's style was under the influence of American 'Zoot Style'. 3) The representative gender roles were the men of 'Producer/Provider' in 60's~70's. Shortened jacket, wide lapels & neckties, slim trousers were used to express the strong & young images of Producer/ Provider during the industrialization era. 4) The representative gender roles were 'Attentive/ Intellectual/ Beautiful Men' in 80's~90's. The exaggerated round shoulders which were influenced by 'Big Look', and easy silhouette were related with the attentive images.

The Styles and Characteristics of Masks as Expressed in Modern Fashion (현대 패션에 나타난 가면의 형태와 특성)

  • This study is on the various style and characteristics of mask, and was performed empirically by reviewing the related materials such as the literature, precedent studies, fashion works, and home and foreign fashion magazines. As a result of the study, the style of mask in the modern fashion is roughly categorized by full-covered style, half-covered style, and over-half-covered style which is covered over 50% of a face. And, mask is utilized on a hat or a dress all over, or is produced by a elaborate makeup. Mask with lots of variation has three big characteristics, which are sense of disguise, sense of ornamentation, sense of grotesquery. First, sense of disguise means deviation or tool of affectation instead of cultural standard norm through transforming or masquerading as an imagery person or animal in ancient myths, famous artistes, etc. It could be developed to express a designer's identity. Second, mask decorated with various styles and materials has sense of ornamentation, which means natural human desire of expression for beauty, and at the same time human mind longing for experience a fantastic and ideal inner world being deviated from the present world even indirectly. Third, ignoring the original format of eyes, nose, and mouth, using extraordinarily various techniques such as distortion, extreme, exaggeration, concealment, or combining with animal images, mask has sense of grotesquery inducing humor and horror simultaneously.

A Study on the Emotional Expressions of Design Hotel Interior Space (디자인 호텔 실내공간의 감성적 표현 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Urbanization created by modernization and industrialization has brought tremendous growth of hotel demand with city ' development such as population’s centralization, living environment changes, consumption emphasis, and internationalization. Moreover, the hotel industry has been developed in two ways. First, it has been diversified and popularized by hotel culture. Second, the hotel industry has been upgraded form focusing oh its specific targets. In the view of Hotel design, Hotel was shown as a social and cultural value. Customer can experience the space, not normal big sizes, but being new and reflecting trends regardless of any purposes or locations. The hotels that were resulted in development of American economy and construction since the 1980 had new design concepts. These hotels were one of the examples showing pluralism requiring on modern society. In the case of Korea, Korean Architect Company have built in copying or repacked western hotel without considering Korean local conditions. Korean company just tried to make large scales, high-story buildings, and chain hotels. Nevertheless, it is the current trend to understand the customer's sensitivity and viewpoint by introducing a new style of hotel management that requires variety and different characteristics of hotel design. Therefore, the purpose of this study presents a direction of the future hotel architecture by analyzing design characters of domestic and international hotels, by collecting various consumer's requests.

Content analysis of advertised eco-interior products and materials (친환경 실내 디자인 마감재의 유형별 광고특성 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the advertisements of eco-friendly interior products and finishing materials in 3 interior design magazines which have been published for 4 years since 2002: to identify specific types of the products and materials that consumers can choose and to analyze their special ingredients which have functions and effectiveness related to health. Literature review and content analysis on the advertisements were employed. The results are as follows: The amount of advertisements has been continuously increasing due to the public concerns on well-being and finishing material types absolutely took the greatest proportion (92.8%) among them. Floor coverings, wall papers, and paints are the big 3 materials in the finishing material advertisements. The frequently mentioned health-related ingredients in them were charcoal, natural jade, nanosilver, yellow soil and quartz porphyry, And their main functions were emission of negative ions and ultra infrared. However, it's not easy to find their scientific test results on health. Objective guidelines are needed for the right selection of interior products and materials to maintain healthy interior environment.

Green Tea Extract, not Epigallocatechin gallate Inhibits Catecholamine Release From the Rat Adrenal Medulla

  • The present study was designed to investigate the effects of green tea extract (CUMC6335) and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) on secretion of catecholamines (CA) in the isolated perfused rat adrenal gland. ill the presence of CUMC6335 (100 $\mu\textrm{g}$/mL) into an adrenal vein for 60 min, CA secretory responses evoked by ACh(5.32 mM), high $K^+$ (56 mM) and Bay-K-8644 (10$\mu$M for 4 min) from the isolated perfused rat adrenal glands were greatly inhibited in a time-dependent fashion. However, EGCG (8 $\mu\textrm{g}$/mL) did not affect CA release evoked by ACh, high $K^+$ and Bay-K-8644. CUMC6335 itself did fail to affect basal catecholamine output. Taken together, these results demonstrate that CUMC6335 inhibits greatly CA secretion evoked by stimulation of cholinergic nicotinic receptors as well as by the direct membrane deplarization from the isolated perfused rat adrenal gland. It is felt that this inhibitory effect of CUMC6335 may be due to blocking action of the L-type dihydropyridine calcium channels in the rat adrenal medullary chromaffin cells, which is relevant to the cholinergic nicotinic blockade. It seems that there is a big difference in mode of action between CUMC6335 and EGCG.
