  • This study investigates the following important financial questions using entertainment enterprises: 1) how does cash reserve affect a firm's financial value? 2) what factors influence the level of cash retention of a firm? For empirical tests, we use accounting and financial data of entertainment companies listed in the KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets for a long-term time period covering from 2000 to 2018. The main findings of this paper are as follows: First, entertainment companies maintain higher level of cash holdings compared to non-entertainment companies. Second, the cash holdings of entertainment enterprises have positive influence on firms' financial value. Third, among various firm characteristics known for affecting the cash holdings level, leverage and profitability exhibit strong relationships in entertainment enterprises. Entertainment firms with lower leverage and higher profitability tend to reserve more cash inside them. These findings suggest that entertainment companies are highly valued by stock market participants as having prospective opportunities, thus, firms with sufficient cash holdings tend to have higher firm value. In addition, these findings imply that cash in entertainment enterprises functions as a substitute for debts and the cash holdings are less likely driven by agency problems.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the double mediating effect of ego-resilience and impulsivity in the effects of smartphone addiction on depression among office workers. Research design, data and methodology : The subjects of this study were office workers working in four cities: Seoul, Daejeon, Chungnam, and Chungbuk Province, and the total number of respondents was 286. Descriptive statistics, difference test (t-test, ANOVA), correlation analysis, and double-mediated effect analysis were used for statistics. Results : The results of this study are as follows. First, as a result of the difference analysis, there was no difference in depression according to the general characteristics of the subjects of this study, such as gender, age, marital status, and salary. Second, as a result of correlation analysis, smartphone addiction showed a negative correlation with ego-resilience, and a positive correlation with impulsivity and depression. Also, ego-resilience showed negative correlation with impulsivity and depression. Impulsivity showed a positive correlation with depression. Third, as a result of dual mediating effect analysis, it was found that ego-resilience and impulsivity played double-mediated role between smartphone addiction and depression. Conclusions : Based on the results of this study, theoretical measures centered on ego-resilience were discussed and presented in order to positively induce the decrease in impulsivity and depression due to smartphone addiction among office workers.

  • This study analyzed the efficient hose loading method for indoor fire hydrants, and the experimental results are as follows. An effective fire hose loading method is to be derived through an experiment comparing the fire hose loading method of an indoor fire hydrant and the speed of fire suppression. When the fire hose was loaded by folding, it took an average of 33 seconds to load the fire hose, and for the hangyeopsal, it took an average of 69 seconds to load the fire hose, showing a significant difference. First, in the folding hose deployment experiment, subjects A, C, D, and E showed similar values from 34 seconds to 37 seconds, respectively. The reason seems to be the result of the fact that the fire hose was not twisted when unfolding, and that it was possible to deploy the hose smoothly. Subject B showed the lowest deployment time at 25 seconds, which seems to be the result of B's experience in deploying the fire hose. Second, in the hose unfolding experiment, subjects A, B, C, and E had a similar time period of 44 to 76 seconds, respectively. However, the test subject D was significantly higher at 110 seconds. The reason is that the attempt to prevent hose kinking when deploying the fire hose and the unstable psychological state through tension are judged to increase the fire hose deployment time.

  • This study is to analyze the effect of rapid rise in the rescue activity of suffering on the increase of reactive oxygen species. There is no study that tested the change rate of reactive oxygen species according to the rapid rise in 119 rescue workers, so we want to check the symptoms that appear in rescue workers' bodies. There were 5 subjects, and B, C, and E showed similar values before and after diving: 0.41µmol/L, 0.11µmol/L, and 0.87µmol/L, respectively. However, in subject D, the level of active oxygen rise before and after diving was significantly higher at 1.41µmol/L, which is believed to be due to increased anxiety caused by poor underwater visibility and increased fatigue during rapid ascent after underwater rescue activities. Subject A showed a significantly low increase in active oxygen before and after diving at 0.07µmol/L. The reason seems to be that A is 54 years old and has the most diving experience among the test subjects, and it seems that it is the result of receiving less stress from the poor watch due to the abundant experience of rescue activities as a 119 rescue worker and the skillful underwater activities. Fatigue and anxiety were both high at 4. It is thought that the psychological tension during underwater activities increased fatigue, and the turbidity of the underwater vision raised anxiet.

  • With the development of information and communication technology, online fractional investment platforms have emerged through the convergence of online platform technology and new investment techniques for asset-backed derivatives. In this study, the concept and previous studies of the online fractional investment platform business, commercialization models and service processes, market status, and pending discussions and alternatives were presented. Recently, the Securities and Futures Commission's decision on securitization of split ownership has become an important guide to the stable business sustainability of platform operators, but academic research is needed according to the current status and case analysis. To identify specific market issues, examples of representative online fractional investment securitization platform businesses such as "MusiCow" for music copyright, "Tessa" based on art, "Kasa" for real estate, "Piece" based on real assets, and "BangCow" for Korean beef shipments were analyzed. Through the case analysis of this study, the characteristics of the business model according to the basic assets of the online fractional investment platform were compared and presented. Since most business models are judged to be securitic, they must comply with the provisions of the Capital Markets Act or be recognized as the target of innovative financial services. From a practical point of view, it is meaningful in that it presented improvement directions that online fractional securitization platform operators should consider and organized institutional considerations for investor protection.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify what factors actually affect the turnover intentions of social workers. It is an important task to grasp the factors of turnover of the social worker through empirical analysis because the high turnover rate of social welfare workers in Korea has a negative influence on their organization and ultimately impedes the stable delivery of social welfare services. This study used the results of analyzing 100 social workers in social service companies. In fact, the data used in this study were statistically analyzed only for 82 subjects, except for 18 subjects who did not respond to the variables used. As a result, the general effects of job stress on job turnover and job exhaustion were examined as much as possible. We examined the effect of job stress, an independent variable, on the turnover and exhaustion of social workers. Specifically, job stress was divided into role, organizational, and relationship, and it was found that role - related factor job stress only affected social workers' turnover intention significantly. In addition, the relationship-related affected the exhaustion of the social worker. Therefore, in order to reduce the exhaustion of the social worker, the desirable direction to reduce the stress of the relationship-related factor should be sought.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the compensation law for Special Mission Executors enacted to compensate for sacrifices for the state based on the policy framework proposed by Gilbert and Terrell and to present the limitations and development directions of the compensation policy. In particular, this study presents the characteristics of each dimension of the policy through the bases of social allocation, the types of social provisions, the strategies for the delivery, and the ways to finance. Through the analysis, We deduce problems of the compensation law for Special Mission Executors. Representative limitations of the compensation policy can be summarized as follows. Due to extreme selectivism, the limitations are the narrow selection criteria of the targets, the benefits which are not out of proportional to contributions, delayed benefits and the decrease in the size of public resources. These limitations suggest that the compensation policy for Special Mission Executors does not contain the significance of the Patriots and Veterans Affairs Policy. The value the Patriots and Veterans Affairs can be considered as a means for repaying the contributions who sacrificed for the nation. Therefore, the government needs to make efforts to develop a policy with the true significance of the Patriots and Veterans Affairs.

  • Since there are no related laws and regulations in the Korean private investigation industry, anyone can freely operate it if they report the business to the tax office. The reality is that companies hire PI to investigate rival companies and employees for specific reasons, as they generally rely on individual requests. The Korean PI industry is divided into two parts. The first are retired police officers and investigators who have experience in criminal investigation. The second are private citizen who can conduct investigation service activities runs a PI agency after everyone has registered with the tax office. It is no exaggeration to say that the current legal conflicts and legal problems that arise in the PI service cannot be ruled out because civilians are relatively less knowledgeable than PIs and legal experts. Therefore, in order for PI industry to operate stably in Korea, we will first study the concept and type of PI industry, comparative analysis of past PI laws, current status and reality of PI industry, and study the current status and references.
