Purpose : When the pliability of the Lumbar is degraded, the kinesiology function undergoes an influence and it receives an overload. Finally, it is connected with a Lumbar muscular injury. When it does the regular exercise treatment the lumbago patient the balance and function of changeover are improved. The purpose of this study is to review of effect of the PNF application for lumbago patient Methods : By using internet, we research the PubMed, Science Direct, KISS, DBpia and the article on the effect of PNF. We selected the article between 1970 and 2007. Key words were low back pain, lumbago, PNF. Results : PNF is a therapeutic exercise for central nervous system(CNS) patient and the peripheral nervous system(PNS) patient and it is widely applied from sports medicine in the last. According to research of the Jung Young Jo(2007) and Han Kou Soo(2002), PNF technique improves the pain and a condition of the lumbago patient. And the affection balanced change and dynamic balance change and spontaneous movable scope are improved. And it improved to daily life activity. According to research of Moore and Hutton(1980), Lee Kyoung Hye(1999), PNF stretching where it is one of muscular relaxation is good in lumbar muscle fascia ache solutions, and PNF stretching that muscle is relaxed and increases ROM by Reflective system of the vertebra. These researches is relation all each other. it have appeared many report of research about Pliability, muscular power, balance, mobility improve ADL movement of attendance ability and functional action improved excise therapy put effect about lumbago patient recently, it have appeared research about therapy of lumbago patient through PNF. But PNF technique is not application about lumbago patient in clinic, therefore also it is not enough for case study about this therapy. Conclusion : PNF improve combination operation of muscle, inconvenience decrease from daily life activity, ROM(range of movement) of lumbar is increase and Lumbago reduce. This study was conducted to investigate changes in activities of daily living (ADLs) according to the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) after one year of physical and occupational therapy and to compare the responsiveness of ADL tools. A total of 48 children with spastic cerebral palsy participated in the study. The GMFCS, Functional Independence Measure for Children (WeeFIM), and Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory (PEDI) were measured. The results showed that the GMFCS was significantly correlated with the PEDI (p<0.05), while there was a significant difference in the change of ADLs measured by the PEDI, but not the WeeFIM. There was a significant difference in the changes in ADLs according to the GMFCS, and the change in ADLs in the high functional level group was significantly higher than in the low functional level group (p<0.05). After physical and occupational therapy, the degree of improvement of ADLs varied according to the GMFCS, but seemed to be improved in a clinically meaningfully way. The PEDI is sensitive to changes in ADLs, so it may be used widely in clinical practice.

Objective : The objectives of this study were to compare the variables from Fitmeter accelerometer with them from CMS-70P(Zebris Medizintechnik Gmbh, Germany) and to suggest the availability the accelerometer in the field of occupational therapy. Methods : Twenty participants performed calling, drinking water, washing face and spooning and we measured Sum of Single Vector Magnitude(SSVM) and range of motion(ROM) on the wrist and elbow joints. Results :With respect to the wrist and elbow joints, SSVM and ROM differed significantly according to the task(calling, drinking water, washing face and spooning)(p<.001; p<.001; p<.001; p<.001). As for the wrist joint, SSVM and ROM did not show the significant correlation(p>.05) but as for the elbow joint, SSVM and ROM did show the significant correlation according to the task(p<.01; p<.001; p<.01; p<.05). With regard to the SVM-difference of wrist and elbow joints, calling and washing showed the significant difference (p<.001; p<.05) but drinking and spooning did not show the significant difference(p>.05; p>.05). Conclusion : We suggest that Fitmeter accelerometer would be use to record the kinematic variables during performance of ADL and it can compensate the function of CMS-70P as for the elbow joint than the wrist joint.
Objective : This study aimed to review the performance of traditional herbal prescriptions for treating dementia and present a strategy for research on dementia therapy utilizing herbal medicine. Methods : A definition was made to clarify the technology regarding the development of herbal prescriptions for treating dementia. The queries were compounded based on the initial keywords provided by experts in the field, then applied to the Web of Science database search engines from January 1986 to September 2011 to search related scientific articles. Before performing the analysis, papers were extracted from the initial search reviewed by experts and 80 articles were selected. Then, the selected papers were analyzed in terms of publish year, country, and type of herbal prescriptions. Furthermore, the research performance evaluation for treating dementia by herbal prescriptions was also created in terms of country and organization based on forward citation analysis. In addition to, for the evaluation regarding research quality, we classified and reviewed papers into two types: clinical studies and experimental studies. Results : According to the quantitative information analysis of 80 articles, the number of papers has increased by 21.9% per the yearly mean from 1995, and Japan had the largest portion within this research field. There were 34 kinds of traditional herbal prescriptions, among them Ukgansan had the highest number of studies followed by Jodeungsan, Dangkisoosan and so on. In addition, quality index as calculated by cites per paper is higher than average in Switzerland, Turkey and Japan. In the view of the evaluation on quality there were 12 clinical studies, 8 RCT reported that herbal prescriptions had efficacy at cognition, behavioral & psychological symptoms (BPSD) and activity of daily life (ADL) in various type of dementia. In experimental studies most of the studies were performed using animal models. The studies using Ukgansan were aimed at improving BPSD. The papers studied with Jodeungsan and Dangkisoosan targeted vascular dementia. Conclusions : In this study, research to develop traditional herbal prescriptions for treating dementia has the potential to improve symptoms since herbal medicines work as both multi-function and multi-target in dementia with multiple pathological or neurotoxic pathways. Therefore, the results of the research should be used in order to establish strategies to develop technology for treating dementia with traditional herbal prescriptions in the future.
The ultimate goal of rehabilitation is social integration. Reemployment is, for the disabled workers, the primary source of not only income, but also identity and interaction. Unfortunately, for most disabled workers employment represents only a yet-to-be-fulfilled hope, a close but inaccessible goal, a daily reminder that they are not among the majority. The purpose of this study is to estimate reemployment rate in the industrial injured and to find factors affecting reemployment of disabled workers owing to industrial injury, and to make policy implication for the better industrial injury compensation rehabilitation system. The data were obtained through telephone interview with disabled worker who completed work injury compensation process in 1996-1997. The final sample was consisted of 1,060 respondents. The major findings were that almost lout of 3 disabled worker returned to work, and that the factor affecting reemployment of the disabled workers were severity injury, ADL(activity of Daily Living), the perception of disability severity, controlling for the demographic factors such as sex, age, education, marital status. The results indicated that psychosocial factors as well as physical function had influces on returning to work. The current findings suggests that rehabilitation services and policy aimed at enhancing vocational rehabilitation program and rehabilitation engineering services, and improving psychosocial resources should be considered by rehabilitation professionals and policy makers.
Objective : To investigate the current researches which identify the improvement of bilateral coordination skill of children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy after bimanual intensive training. Methods : We systematically examined papers published in journals from 2004 to 2014, using RISS, Pubmed. Total 6 studies were included in the analyses. Result : All of the selected 6 studies were foreign papers, and the Pedro score was 5 or more. Among various interventions, modified CIMT designs were the most. The primary outcome measure tools are AHA and JTTHF for evaluating bilateral coordination and hand functions, and QUEST, ABILHAND-Kids, COPM, GAS, PEDI, 3-D movement kinematics were used for evaluating various aspects of effectiveness of interventions. Conclusion : Through this systematic review, it is identified that bilateral intensive training provides positive effects to not only hand functions but also bilateral coordination. Furthermore, it also provided supports to participate in ADL requiring bilateral coordination. These results will provides evidence concerning the effectiveness of BIT for children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy.

Psychosocial rehabilitation for factors such as stress as well as physical function in stroke patients in the rehabilitation of stroke patients by using the Ego-defense will have a significant impact on an individual's personality or lifestyle.
Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate of practicum by using standardized patient(SP) for nursing assessment. Method: This study had 2 steps. The 1st-step was pre-intervention stage including selection of a learning title, formation of case scenario, training of SP and developing the evaluation tools for students' clinical competence to assessment, 6 categories 29 items. The 2nd-step consisted of intervention and evaluation stages. 34 nursing students divided 2 groups participated in assessing the SP. Evaluation of each group was performed by 2 nursing professors. All students recorded their feelings after assessing the SP. The SP also evaluated about nursing students' attitude toward the SP. Results: ICC(Interclass correlation coefficient) between 2 groups was over 0.7 all categories. Students' assessing score(range 0-1) was muscular-joint function status(0.41), nutritional status(0.39), history taking(0.38), IADL(0.18), ADL(0.15), and emotional status (0.07). The mean scores of the nursing students' attitude by SP was 4.03(range 1-6). Also most students showed positive reactions to the education using SP because they had the chance to experience what they could not practice in clinical setting. Conclusion: The evaluation tool revealed high reliability. Nursing students' clinical competence was below average. But they took a good attitude to SP. We recommended further research using SP with various disease.
The purposes of the study were (1) to identify the level of successful aging of older people living in a city, (2) to identify associated factors with successful aging, and (3) to identify a risk group for successful aging using classification and regression trees (CART) analysis. One hundred eighty seven older people (>65years) participated in the cross-sectional survey. Trained interviewers collected data with a structured questionnaire on demographic information, Korean geriatric depression score, activity of daily living(ADL), instrumental activity of daily living(IADL), and Young's successful aging instrument in subject's home. A CART analysis split subjects into ten homogeneous small groups based on five determinant factors. Older people who are male, with higher education, living with family, and not receiving Medicaid showed better scores in successful aging than their counter parts. Depression was a strong primary determinant for successful aging. A risk group for successful aging of older people was identified by depression and IADL. An intervention to prevent and manage depression and to improve physical function of older people can be developed to promote successful aging of older people. It is suggested to consider an assessment of depression to develop the policies for older people welfare.
